86 Shockingly Mad Thing

Sheng Jie looked at An Qi's pained expression and thought that his words had been too harsh, so he began to sweat with was filled with guilt. He'd only criticized An Qi because he was afraid that people would discover her identity. He didn't know that An Qi was so fragile!

His words had clearly made her quite sad. In fact, she seemed to be rendered speechless for the moment after facing his criticism.

But, in Sheng Jie's eyes, hers was still the smile of an angel goddess. Yu Hao had thought that he was being clever and cunning by coercing Sheng Jie to say a lot of good things about him, while also bad mouthing An Qi. This was truly the first time that Sheng Jie had met someone who was so petty!

Sheng Jie figured that this whole situation was the heavens arranging a huge obstacle for An Qi before she could find her happiness. In fact, this arrogant and conceited man, who grew up poor in the countryside, yet somehow managed to move to the big city and become successful, indeed fit the bill of being one massive obstacle!

As Sheng Jie was thinking all of these things, Yu Hao's mobile phone rang. Yu Hao took a glance at the screen, which showed that someone tagged as "Lovely Bunny" was calling, and Sheng Jie immediately associated the name with Gu Xiaonan.

Haha, what an insult to bunnies! And… Who in the world would ever call that woman lovely? Sheng Jie thought to himself, while inwardly chuckling.

But, Yu Hao apparently thought differently, as his care and concern for Gu Xiaonan could be seen clearly from his nervousness in answering the phone. But, Sheng Jie also thought that he might be deliberately showing faux affection for Gu Xiaonan in front of An Qi.

As he picked up the phone, Yu Hao cooed, "Baby, what's wrong? Did you miss me?"

Sheng Jie shuddered and almost vomited on the spot upon hearing Yu Hao's gooey tone and smarmy words.

"Guess where I am now?"

"Baby you're so smart."

"So... Shall I come and find you now?"

"Alright, you just wait for me in the same place, okay?"

Listening to Yu Hao's sickly sweet words, bystanders might've thought that he was dating a high school student from his teenagish saccharine lingo. But, if one was to think about it more carefully, Gu Xiaonan did actually have the ability to imitate women of any age perfectly.

After he'd hung up the phone, Yu Hao seemed to unsatisfied. He surely would still like to fabricate even more lies about An Qi, but alas, Gu Xiaonan was waiting for him upstairs.

These days, both of them were busy preparing for their wedding. Gu Xiaonan's temper was extremely volatile. In fact, she was like a walking stick of dynamite, as she would blow up when faced with any minor problem.

Boss Leng is just behind that door, so shall we just ask him make the decision?"

Sheng Jie felt that he had finally said something sensible, and while he was secretly congratulating himself, An Qi quietly raised her collar, not wanting Leng Yuchen to similarly discover the marks on her neck. However, Sheng Jie's suggestion and An Qi's precautions were both for nothing, as when they looked behind the door, Leng Yuchen had quietly left already!

"Hmm... That's strange! We arrived together, but I volunteered to come over here alone in order to prevent Boss Leng from revealing his identity in advance," Sheng Jie exclaimed in surprise upon seeing that Leng Yuchen was gone.
