4 No Turning Back for the Little Princess

"Is it so hard to find someone?" In the office, Leng Yuchen rubbed his swollen nose and threw the documents that he had just read at his assistant's feet. "Go and search for her! Even if you have to turn the city upside down, you must find that woman for me!"

The assistant responded with a nod, then quickly retreated. Not everyone could withstand Leng's bad temper. For the sake of his own safety, he would have to visit the Night Bar a few more times to take a look.

At the same time, An Qi was being reprimanded in the ward by her father, An Shijie. She had no idea how her father found out that she had been hospitalized due to a fracture. Once he had learned of it, he had quickly hurried over.

Although her father loved her dearly, her disobedience these past few years had greatly angered him. Thus, once they met, he could not hold back and started to give her a good scolding. An Shijie scolded her very badly, as he had a very hot temper.

An Qi silently endured her father's scolding. After all, she knew that it was all out of his deep love for her.

Since the death of her mother, her father had to take on the role as of both father and mother to her. Moreover, on top of working hard in his career, he had to take care of An Qi at home. As such, life had not been easy for him.

Then, An Qi had made a reckless decision to go abroad, all because of Yu Hao! To make matters worse, she did not make a single call home during all of those years abroad. It was no wonder her father was so angry with her!

Once An Shijie felt that he had scolded her enough, he began to feel sorry for his daughter. He could not stop tearing up when he saw the bandage on her left arm.

"Child, no matter what has happened between us, it is good that you have come home…" he said softly.

An Qi was touched upon seeing her tough dad display his tender emotions. This made her sad that she had not fulfilled her duties as a daughter.

At that moment, An Shijie gave his daughter a hug, but quickly retracted his hand after he recalled that she had an injury. He then said, "An Qi, you're a good girl, and although Yu Hao has his shortcomings, during these past few years, he managed to open a small company, which is said to be performing pretty well."

An Shijie thought that his words would be a soothing balm to An Qi's hidden worries, and he added, "So... If you really like him, your dad will not try to stop you anymore. I will also give you some money, which should be enough for the two of you to start a business in this city together."

An Qi knew in her heart how much her father disliked Yu Hao. Her father felt all along that Yu Hao was somewhat inferior and selfish, as he had grown up under Zhang Lijuan's upbringing. In fact, just from looking into Yu Hao's eyes, An Shijie could tell that Yu Hao was cunning and greedy.

But, he had chosen not to tell his daughter about this, as he did not want to fall out of accord with An Qi and cause her to think that he was a snob who looked down on Yu Hao and objected to them being together. Now, it seemed that An Shijie was the wise one all along and that An Qi had made a wrong judgement.

An Qi silently avoided her father's eyes as she said to him, "Dad, you don't have to worry about me. We broke up."

An Shijie was surprised by this news.

"Oh… It is no wonder that I heard that… " he murmured, still somewhat surprised.

"Huh?" An Qi looked up, curious about what An Shijie was going to say next.

Looking at his daughter's dejected face, An Shijie did not say what he had intended to. Instead, he comforted his daughter. "Oh… It was nothing. By the way, how did you fracture your bone? There are so many people in here, too. Would you like me to change your ward?" he asked.

Looking at the friendly patients beside her in the same ward, An Qi shook her head. "No, I think that it will be good for me to be here."

An Shijie had something on his mind, so he did pay much attention to An Qi's response. He looked down at his wrist watch in a hurry, then said with a slightly guilty expression on his face, "Qiqi, Il have a meeting later. If this deal is sealed, we will be able to collaborate with the Leng Group, which is the biggest group in the city. At that time, there will be many boys, who are ten to twenty times better than Yu Hao, who will compete to be my son-in-law!"

"Oh… Okay. Dad, you go. Don't worry about me," she said with a smile.

An Qi had already gotten used to her father's busy schedule. However, she felt guilty that her father had to worry about her marriage at his old age. No matter how unwilling he was to leave his daughter, An Shijie could not stay any longer, as this was a rare opportunity for him to get the chance to collaborate with the Leng Group.

Time passed quickly. In this small ward, An Qi felt an unprecedented warmth from her fellow patients. After the doctor took off her plaster cast, she was ready to leave the hospital. However, she was reluctant to part with the patients from her ward.

Today, An Shijie seemed to be in a good mood. From listening to his occasional conversations with others, An Qi guessed that the reason for his current happiness was probably because her father had sealed the deal with the Leng Group. She was truly happy for him.

"Qiqi, wait till you get home and have fully recovered, then you can join me in the company and help me out!" An Shijie said.

An Qi smiled, "Rest assured, I will help you. I will not let you down, dad!"

She secretly sighed in her heart. For two months, Yu Hao had not made an appearance. This meant that it was time for her to give up and start afresh.

"Qiqi..." An Shijie ignored An Qi's frown as he looked at her case notes. When he saw the words "malnutrition" written down, he felt his heart ached for her. He started wondering how his child had spent her days abroad in these recent years.

"Before you leave the hospital, make sure you have a thorough physical examination. Take it as a company benefit before you start work," he said.

An Qi replied with a nod and let her father make the necessary arrangements for her. At this moment, she felt happy and very loved, like a little princess. Even though she had lost her boyfriend and her virginity, her father's love for her made up for everything.

However, cruel reality soon hit An Qi hard, as just when she thought that she owned the whole world again, some terrible news was about to completely turn her life upside down...
