74 Blue Invitation Card

Suddenly, the sound of high-heeled shoes clicked along the hall before arriving at the door of the ward. Leng Yuchen frowned. If he remembered correctly, the familiar sound of those particular heels belonged to Gu Xiaonan.

"Sheng Jie, come with me!" Before Sheng Jie could respond, he had been dragged into the bathroom by Leng Yuchen.

"Boss Leng, why are you doing this?" Sheng Jie asked while trying to get his bearings.

"Shh, don't talk, Gu Xiaonan is coming!" Leng Yuchen had no time to explain at the moment.

He remembered that An Qi had said that she wanted to resolve the grievance between her and Gu Xiaonan on her own. Thus, he was giving her plenty of space to do so.

Sometimes, although Leng Yuchen was usually domineering, he was not always as disrespectful as Shi Zhiwen had accused him of being. Most of the time, like now, as long as An Qi was safe, he gave her the freedom to try to do things on her own.

"Hello, is An Qi in this ward?" Gu Xiaonan asked at the door.

"Hmm, yes. How are you related to her?" the nurse at the door asked.

"Oh, I'm her sister," Gu Xiaonan replied, while she waved the fruit basket in her hand to the nurse. She was putting on quite a convincing act like she was there to visit her sick, beloved sister.

"Okay, you can go in, but don't stay too long. The patient needs rest," the nurse said while waving her in.

Gu Xiaonan said thank you and gave her a big smile. But, as soon as she entered the ward, she stopped smiling. Leng Yuchen and Sheng Jie witnessed the whole scene.

"Oh my God, is that woman carrying a mask or something? She can really change her facial expression whenever she wishes!" Sheng Jie whispered but was still hit on the head by Leng Yuchen, who was worried that his voice would expose them.

Sheng Jie endured the pain and gazed at Gu Xiaonan again as Gu Xiaonan approached An Qi's bed. She started to rifle through An Qi's bag, clearly looking for something specific!

Gu Xiaonan had her back facing them at the moment, which made Leng Yuchen anxious, as he did not know what Gu Xiaonan wanted to do to An Qi.

"Boss Leng, shall I rush out and have a look?" Sheng Jie asked. He could feel Leng Yuchen's heart beating wildly next to him.

"No! It will arouse Gu Xiaonan's suspicions. Da*n it! Where is Shi Zhiwen at a time like this?" Leng Yuchen lowered his voice and cursed, even though he knew that such actions would not be of any help.

If everything went as planned, Shi Zhiwen should have already boarded the plane home. He sincerely regretted his leaving, especially now!

"What should we do now? What if Gu Xiaonan is taking out sulfuric acid?" Sheng Jie began to let his imagination run wild.

He had clearly watched too many dramas. As such, he always felt that Gu Xiaonan was carrying something poisonous enough to destroy An Qi!

As he looked up at Leng Yuchen, he wondered if Leng Yuchen would still dote on An Qi if she was disfigured. However, when he heard a creaking sound, he was forced to stop imagining. Gu Xiaonan had just pulled over a chair and was now sitting at An Qi's bedside.

Sheng Jie and Leng Yuchen could see clearly that Gu Xiaonan was holding a blue invitation. Gu Xiaonan's eyes were filled with ridicule as she looked at An Qi and said, "An Qi, I am going to marry Yu Hao, and you are lying alone in this cold hospital bed, without even a caregiver. It's really sad!"

Gu Xiaonan held the invitation and fanned herself with it. Even though she knew that An Qi could not hear her, she could not wait to tell her about her marriage to Yu Hao.

At that moment, An Qi frowned. It was as if she had heard her words and responded appropriately.

After seeing that, Gu Xiaonan asked, "An Qi, do you know how long I have waited to see this disappointed smile of yours in response to such news?" Gu Xiaonan's eyes flashed with a tinge of ruthlessness, while she waved the indigo blue invitation under An Qi's nose.

"Do you remember the wedding scenes we talked about when we were young? Other girls liked pink and Hello Kitty, but you were different. You had a crazy preference for indigo blue. You even said that a wedding should be filled with indigo blue elements. Haha! After careful consideration, this idea for an indigo blue theme for my own wedding seemed to be fitting. You won't mind, right?" Gu Xiaonan laughed menacingly.

She then reached over and scratched An Qi's face with the blue invitation card, leaving a shallow cut on An Qi's face. As he watched this from his hiding place, Leng Yuchen was burning with anger.

After all, his An Qi was so perfect, yet Gu Xiaonan had dared to leave a mark on her face! If it were not for An Qi having told Leng Yuchen not to interfere, he would have slapped Gu Xiaonan on the face right then and there!

However, Gu Xiaonan was so focused on An Qi that she did not notice all of the pent-up rage that was currently filling the bathroom. Seeing that An Qi had no response, Gu Xiaonan suddenly lifted An Qi's quilt, pulled An Qi's hand out from under it, and forced the invitation card into her hand.

After suffering such a rough tug, An Qi's fair and tender hands became red in an instant. Her breathing also became more rapid.

"This woman is sick, Boss Leng!" Sheng Jie, who had always been gentle in all of his dealings with people and things, could not stand the sight of Gu Xiaonan's harsh treatment of An Qi. He wished that he could rush out and beat Gu Xiaonan! Fortunately, Leng Yuchen managed to stay rational and was able to hold Sheng Jie back.

"An Qi, you can rest assured that, before I marry Yu Hao, I will not touch you again. I just want you to watch me and Yu Hao bask in happiness!" Gu Xiaonan was still murmuring to herself.

At first, she did not mind not receiving any response from An Qi, but the more she talked, the more excited she became, and the lack of responses made her feel lonely. After all, even the best actors needed some applause from the audience!

Furthermore, the reason why Gu Xiaonan had come was to see An Qi suffer. But, as she was not able to respond, she was unsure whether An Qi could even hear her or not. The current situation made Gu Xiaonan very angry.

She wanted An Qi to wake up. She wanted to see An Qi in pain!

Just when Sheng Jie and Leng Yuchen thought that Gu Xiaonan had finished what she wanted to say and was going to leave, they saw her grab the invitation and tear it into pieces...
