7 Chapter 07 - Investigation

I head west to check the happenings in a nearby town.

The residents have informed me that the disappearance has been lasting for two days.

Five casualties have already been recorded the target are ranging from teenagers to middle-aged men. All of them are male.

I am sure that no other than demons are the cause of this, but I can't jump to a conclusion, It also can be human trafficking. Further investigation is needed.

The street is full of people, this is noteworthy the most crowded town I have been to since I came to this world.

I am still not sure what is the intention of the man who sends me into this world. I will not lie even though this world is dangerous, I am enjoying this adventure of mine.

I head to the inn to gather more information, There I saw a bunch of drunk bastards. It's just mid-day and they are already drunk.

"Hey man, you won't believe what I saw! Last night when I was walking near the slum I saw a monster, believe me, man there is a monster in our town!" The drunkard said then chug down his beer.

"Hahaha, how pathetic of you! A grown man talking about fantasies! Go home and suck on your wife's tits!" Another drunkard said.

"It doesn't matter if you don't believe me! I saw it with my very two eyes! I'm very lucky to survive because the monster doesn't like the taste of a drunk man's blood." The drunkard said, I can tell by the tone of his voice that there is still fear lingering in there.

"You are hallucinating because of your drinking, can you believe this man? he truly believes his story!" Another drunkard made fun of him.

It seems that I found my target, I need to question that man, He clearly saw the demon.

I entered the scene tap the man's shoulder, "Hi I'm Ace, I overheard your conversation with others and I find your story very amusing, can you tell me all of it?"

The drunkard's eyes sparkle because he finally found someone who wanted to listen to his story.

We move the table near the corner of the inn, I offer to pay for his drink in exchange for his story which he quickly agreed upon.

It seems the demon preys in the corner of the town He said that he saw the demon near the slum when he was looking to get laid after drinking.

To gain more clear knowledge I secretly use my healing towards him to make him slightly sober.

I learned that the demons don't target females and drunk males for some reason. I know for a fact that there is a demon here, but the demon is not in the town right now, I know...because I scanned the whole town using my skills and only found humans.

To make sure I will scan the town again this noon.

I wander around the town for more information, This is puzzling various people claim that they saw monsters or demons in the same location, near the slum.

This is weird because the demon didn't kill them, They said that the monster took one look at them then left.

What I am certain is I will meet this said demon at night.
