4 Chapter 4

“What are we going to do?” Ryan said in frustrations, Melissa’s director was devastated about the thought that Aria cannot join the performance. He couldn’t believe that after all their hard work the school wouldn’t let go about the incident yesterday. According to the school director; Aria, Betty and Betty’s friend shows the ignorance of its rule. They deserved to be punished because it’s unethical for such ladies to start a commotion especially in the school canteen in which everyone sees their disgusting behaviors.

Ryan did his utmost best to persuade the school director that maybe he could possibly modify the punishment of Aria just for the sake of their upcoming play but the school director didn’t change his decision. He justified that he already declares it and there’s nothing he could do to change it.

It’s a huge problem indeed! Where could they possibly find a replacement for Aria in just a short span of time?! If they did find replacements how can the new leading lady cope up all the scripts and actions in less than one month? That’s completely insane!

They cannot postpone the scheduled play because it is an entry for the nationwide competition. All elite schools in the country participates in such grandeur contest, whoever wins must have the opportunity to be an endorser or an actress at least in one of the biggest entertainment company in the country, if they are lucky enough to surpass the standard they can be able to get exclusively five year contract with them. They will also be receiving an enormous amount of money if they won in that competition. It’s also a good preparation for a fresh start after their graduation in collage. That’s what Melissa was looking forward to; even Betty is aiming for it, too bad she couldn’t.

Ryan phases back and forth wanting to solve the problem on its own, ASAP!

Melissa couldn’t respond to that statement. She’s also shocked and don’t know what to do. They already hold an audition for two days yet they couldn’t find a suitable replacement. They are not satisfied with the aspiring

actresses vying for the coveted role. Their performances are way too harsh to comprehend. The roles that they are portraying are completely different as what they are expecting to deliver. There was no way that they could get the scripts right. What to do next?

The clock was ticking so fast and the whole crew were stressed out already. Everyone was expecting that in this year they could finally get the trophy home they are determined because most of the members are seniors already. They have no chance in getting it next year because they’ll soon graduate in this school year. If they can bring the trophy home plus a five year contract how lucky can they be? Their future would be brighter as what they are expecting to be but only if, they can manage to bring home the first prize.

“Ah! Why not Melissa will be my replacement on this play?” Out of nowhere Aria blurted her opinions excitedly making everyone worry about her convictions. Her eyes were beaming with joy as soon as she realizes what she said.

“What? Impossible!” Everyone said in unison, they’re shocked about the crazy idea of Aria including the director himself.

“You must be joking?” Ryan said in disbelief.

“Why not? Melissa knew what was going on in her story. Remember she’s the writer of the story right? No one except her knew, how it will be done and how should it be done. She’s the writer of the play and I’m pretty confident that she can nail everything in less than a month.”

“That can’t be right Aria. She’s...She’s…” Ryan was hesitant to spit it out his opinion.

“She’s what?” Aria snap.

“She’s too plain to be an artist.” Ryan said in conviction. There’s no way that Melissa would be the replacement.

“Do you doubt my intuition?” Aria glared at him.

Aria knew how much Melissa loves the opportunity to act on the stage but they’re making it hard for her just because her face is too simple to digest?

“Why can’t you give her a chance?” Aria convinced them.

“In her state she can’t dance well Aria.” Ryan was too stubborn. For him, Melissa was just good at writing not for acting. He already closed his mind that one day Melissa can be able to perform on that stage. There is no way she could!

“The role that she’s writing is too opposite for her character. You knew how fierce the character is? I’m afraid that she can’t handle it well Aria.” Ryan is too concerned about the role that Melissa is expecting to portray considering that the role that she’ll be performing is too opposite on Melissa’s character!

“Don’t worry, leave it to me.” Aria smiled mischievously, she drags Melissa along with her and happily exited the room without hearing another word from him.
