13 Promotion and Anbu

"To be honest, he is not really unknown by me. This had been kept as a secret from everybody as we wanted to keep him as a genin for the first day of the war, but now that Suna paid off more than sixty men to discover his talent, I can tell you that HE is the one who made the now famous jutsu, Elemental coating. Indeed he is the creator of the jutsu which permited our forces to overwhelm the ennemy forces. So in this instance I, the Third Hokage, promote you to the rank of jonin, Kyokai Uchiha."

I looked at the hokage while blushing like a real tomato as he promoted me in front of our ENTIRE army, which compose of near a million ninjas, and gave me even more credit than the others. I still had the mind to bow to the Hokage, thanking him loudly. The Hokage then told the forces who were to be sent today that they were only asked to defend.

I then walked back to the area reserved to the members of the Uchiha clan. Prepared to go into my tent, I saw my parents and Dan waiting near. I walked toward them and my mother ran to me for a hug. As she was suffocating me she released me. My father looked at me and softly said" Follow us." he then began to walk off without waiting for my reply. My brother followed him.

We entered a tent and I saw silence seals over the walls. My father sat on a chair and said" Well if you are here it is because of your recent promotion to Jonin. I believe by now you have the third stage of the sharingan ?" I nodded. He continued "Then you deserve to know some of the secret of our clan. Dan show him." As he said that I looked at his eyes which were now both sharingan. The three tomoe swirled to form a new kind of form. There was still the red part of the pupil but now the black formed something that seemed like a Y.

Father spoke again" This is the next stage : The Mangekyou sharingan. This stage gives powers to your eyes. But you need to be prepared as the more you use the power of your eyes, the less you will see. If you overuse you will become blind. As for the abilities, you have one in each eye, which are unique, and one other that all mangekyou has, the most powerful but also the one that has the heaviest burden on the eyes, the Susanoo. Your brother has it, but I do not. There also is a condition to awaken it. You need to feel a very strong emotion, like your brother : In a mission he had been overconfident and putted under a genjutsu, which led him to kill his best friend."

As he said that I turned to my brother and saw a tear fall of his eye. He quickly tried to hide it but I saw it. My father spoke again"Although we do not wish for you to feel such a traumatism, we still needed to tell you. Any question ?" I nodded "Is there any higher stage ?" Dan replied this time"There is, and this is the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan(EMS). It amplify your powers a lot and more importantly it make your eyes eternal. You are able to use them without losing your vision."I asked a little excited"What are the conditions ?" Dan looked at me in the eyes and answered"There is only one, to transplant the eyes of your brother, who needs to have unlocked the mangekyou."

I looked in shock at him and he hurriedly said"Don't worry I intend to give you my eyes if you ever awaken the mangekyou." I looked at him in shock."Why ? You would become blind !" He smiled"I am not as talented as you, and I do not want it. I am already bad enough mentally by what happened earlier, so I don't want to take your eyes as well. Moreover I can't use my powers well" I nodded a bit sad about what happened. Then I asked what I wanted to ask to my father all day"Why were you and Dan not on the list to the front yesterday ? I understand that mom wasn't as she is a medic nin that stays at the main base, but you two are not."

He smiled at me" This is a good question which leads to the last thing I wanted to inform you about. There is a special unit in all the hidden villages, it is anbu. It is a special unit within which every member has to be anonimous. Every member are either jonnin or chunnin. You have been selected to become one, and this is why the Hokage didn't say it when he promoted you. As for your question, this is because the members of anbu are to make assassinations and spying in the ennemy lines. After the construction of the strongholds, genin teams like yours, as officialy your are still in the team, will begin attacks like destroying a bridge to stop the supplies of the ennemies or stuff like that. The anbu are trying to delay the construction of the ennemies strongholds, and we focus on Iwa as with their Earth style, they are faster than the others. And as you may already have guessed, the two of us already are in the anbu."

I nodded to them but something was off"You said that I am to be promoted in the anbu, and anbu ninjas are anonymous. But I made a strong impression on them by nearly killing their commander, so if I just disapear from the frontlines to come with you, they will understand that I am part of anbu." I saw that father and Dan had a sad look on their faces. Dan said"You are still as smart as before. I am sorry, but your case is exceptionnal, as the Hokage already decided to put you in anbu as soon as you became because of the Elemental coating. But he did not expect you to grow so fast and be able to deeply injure the ennemy commander, and to kill so many people. So to keep your anonymity and not make you a target, it has been decided that you would still fight for the front, and go on operations with your new anbu team."
