2 Going To New York

The whole of the US was surprised and scared to hear that a whole town just disappeared from the map! Nothing was left but the ashes that told a story that there was once a town here. The first responder was obviously government agencies like CIA, FBI and most definitely ShIELD. Fury himself had come to the place so that he can see for himself the kind of damage that had been done here. When he looked at the place, he was definitely shocked.

"What kind of weapon can do this?" he asked as he looked at the barren, charred ground.

"This is what the satellite image brought up," agent Coulson said and gave him the tablet with a picture of a naked man in the middle of this whole thing. Fury frowned when he saw this then looked at Coulson.

"Are you saying a mutant might have done this?" he asked.

"We don't know of a mutant powerful enough to do this, yet. But, we can't rule out the fact that it might actually not be a mutant. I have the whole video for you to see," Coulson said and rewound to the point when the whole town was intact. Suddenly, a burst of golden light that wiped out the whole town came next and when the light faded, the man was lying on the ground.

"What kind of energy does this?" Fury asked in shock.

"According to collected data, this place's temperature rivalled the surface of the sun! The ground beneath was baked to lava, leaving an ash filled surface," Coulson reported, making Fury even more alarmed.

"What about this man? Any sight of him?"

"No, not even the Satellites can give us any image of him,"

"I want every agent looking for him. This is now a top level mission and none of them are to rest until he is found," Fury said as he raised the tablet high for his agents to see.

Brian was in a bus heading for New York as this was going on. He had gained his consciousness two hours after the incident and then ran away when he saw the amount of damage that he had done. He had promised himself to be a hero and now he had killed so many innocent lives! He could feel himself hyperventilating because of this. He found som clothes and cash thanks to knowing where those dirtbags kept their money and ran off. He took the first bus out of there using another name.

Halfway there, the bus had to stop for gas and Brian together with other passengers went to the washroom, only he didn't go to relieve himself. He noticed that his sickly form was gone and he was the picture of excellent health as he looked at himself on the bus's windows. He needed a mirror to verify this and as he looked at himself, be was pleased.

His hollowed face was now full of meat and his sunken blue eyes now full and filled with life. His flat ribs sculpted chest now had two mounds of muscles protruding that would make flat chested girls die of jealousy. His once hollow stomach now had a full eight pack that were so defined one would open a bottle between two of them. His once skeletal hand was now two arms filled with muscles that showed with each movement. His once flat butt was now a gluteus maximus to be admired and his legs two tanks of raw muscle ready to explode.

"This is incredible. I really changed to be Captain America," he told himself as he touched his abs. Just then, a middle-aged woman got out of the toilet and saw him touching them, making her gulp as she hobbled to the sink, cleaned her hands and hobbled outside. Brian covered up after that and went back to the bus where he had to stand how the woman and her friends were looking at him, like hungry wolves staring at a fat sheep that couldn't run. The rest of the trip to New York was awkward.

Having reached the big city, Brian quickly lost the women following him and started to look around for a potential good home. He didn't forget he was homeless and he planned to keep it that way so that he don't have a life apart from being a superhero. He found the local shelter that was ran by a lovely wan who was called May Parker.

"So, you come from Los Angeles? What brings you to New York?" she asked him and when she saw his hesitance to answer, she thought he wasn't comfortable so she decided to help him out. "It's just standard procedure, nothing to worry about. Just answer us as truthful as you can," she said. Brian nodded.

"I didn't like LA, too many snobbish people. Besides, I heard New York was the place of fresh opportunities," he answered, getting a chuckle from May.

"Don't believe everything you hear. So, we can take you in as long as you promise not to give this place more troubles than it already have and no fighting with the other inhabitors. We have breakfast at seven in the morning, dinner at six in the evening, there are showers, provided for by the city, clean water for drinking, fresh clothes for those that don't have any, bible studies at Mondays and Fridays and finally, you can leave anytime you want."

"That's mighty generous of you guys to do this. Aren't you afraid someone here might be a serial killer in hiding?" Brian asked, making May chuckle again.

"You may not know this but this place is under the protection of Mayor Osbourne. He has his officers do daily sweeps, it tends to keep the bad guys away," she said then saw another homeless person walk in. "I'll talk to you later, Brian, I have to talk to another person I need. But head inside and talk to a woman named Florence Thompson." Brian nodded and head inside where he was surprised to see the place was actually more spacious than it actually looked.

"Everyone get the same look as you the first time," he heard a girl say. He looked at the direction and saw a teenage girl smiling at him. He looked around once again then back at her.

"Should you be talking to strangers? Where are your parents?" he asked her.

"My parents are drug addicts, dead right now. FEAST took me in and everyone here became my family. So, if you think you can harm me, you have everyone here to mess with," she said. Brian looked around and counted everyone there, making him nod in agreement.

"Eight hundred and fifty seven people, that is a lot," he said then looked at her. "I'm Brian, new here."

"Brian? Don't you have a second name?"

"Had a falling out with my family, forsook that name, it reminds me of my old self,"

"Aunt May says it is good to remember the past, it pushes you to be better tomorrow,"

"Aunt May? You call her Aunt May?"

"Well, I babysit her nephew and she has been Aunt May since then. Where did you come from anyway?"Before he answered, a rough looking boy came from behind her, roughly putting his left hand on her shoulders.

"Do we have a problem here?" he growled at Brian. He was smart enough to know the boy was trying to assert dominance. Since he was new, he decided to show the belly this time so he just shook his head and went to look for the woman he was sent to look for. He finally found her because of her name tag.

"Are you Florence Thompson?" he asked. The woman frowned a little when she heard that as she turned to look at him.

"It's Mrs Thompson, only person who can call me that is May. Who are you?"

"Brian, I am new to this place,"

"Seeing you without a bag, bypu don't have clothes. Sigh, follow me,"
