Brian was currently seated on the street, his street clothes hiding his physique and the fake beard hiding his face. He had both hands outstretched, waiting for anyone to drop a coin or two. He felt a coin dropped in and looked up, only to see his benefactor walking away with a phone on his left ear. He looked inside and saw four quarters, a full dollar and smiled to himself.
"Are you hungry?" a little boy asked him suddenly. Brian looked over and smiled softly at him.
"Who are you?"
"Scott Summers,"
"Well, Scott, no, I am not hungry,"
"Then why are you begging for money?"
"What I else should I do? They say an idle mind is the devil's workshop,"
"If you're not hungry then why are you begging for food?"
"Because, I am idle. Also, I do not have money to buy clothes for myself. I don't see myself stealing,"
"Mommy told me stealing is bad."
"Yes, exactly,"
"Mommy also said that we should help those who don't have much so, here," Scott said and gave him two dollars. Brian looked at the two notes in his cup then at the one who dropped it.
"I can't accept so much from a little kid, thanks," Brian said as he was about to stuff the money back into his pants. But Scott slid away, his hands occupying his pockets.
"If you can't have it then give it to someone else," he said then ran off. Brian looked at the kid with a small frown then back at the money and smiled. He was confused as to why a little kid would just give him so much money but put that thought at the back of his heard. Just then, he heard an alarm going off and sighed to himself.
'Another robbery! I can't catch a break," Brian said as he got up and slowly walked to the alley where he changed his clothes, leaped to the roof and started running towards the sirens, leaping from building to building till he reached the place. It was a bank heist gone wrong and now the whole place had been surrounded by police yet the robbers were still spirited enough to keep shooting at the cops. He looked around and saw a cop pinned down by submachine guns from the bank. They were using her to agitate the cops into becoming reckless.
'This will be my first time interacting with cops, let's make it good," he said then leaped off the building, did some fancy spins in the air and landed in front of the astonished cop and crouched.
"Hi there, you seem to be stuck," he greeted her with a cheesy line but just got a nod. Disappointed, he peeked at the shooters, nearly getting a bullet to his face had he not ducked. "That was close. Are you hit?" She shook her head. "Alright, we are gonna move."
"What about the shooters?"
"Don't worry about them, just focus on me," he said to her then went next to the car, got hold of the undercarriage then with a frown filled with effort, he flipped the car to its side. Silence pervaded the place when they saw this scene but that was not all. Brian dug his fingers into the undercarriage, lifted the car a few inches high , tapped the cop's shoulder to signal her to move and they made their way to the other cops who started cheering him on as th robbers went back to their senses and shot at them, only to be stopped by the metal around the squad car. When they reached the other cops, she ran into the arms of her partner as Brian looked at the bank.
"It's times like this I am happy I don't have any savings," he said to himself as he crouched, every muscle in his lower abdomen tensing. He took a deep breath in then out as he super leaped towards the bank. Everyone behind him was sent to the ground because of the winds and he crashed into the bank's wall like a wrecking ball, going through two floors straight to the ground floor. The robbers aimed their guns at him, but they couldn't hide the fact that they were shaking uncontrollably. Everyone have heard of mutants and how dangerous they were.
"Luke, take out this mutie!" one of the robber shouted. Turns out they had a mutant of their own. One of them, a big guy, started walking towards him as his body started producing smoke. His clothes then caught on fire then his skin becam red until it melted off and what came out was magma. He was a living magma monster!
"This just got to a whole other level!" Brian stated as he started backing away. The magma monster roared at him then charged, breaking everything in the way as Brian ran out, broke through the bank's front window and looked at the cops.
"Get everyone out of here!" he shouted at them just as the monster spewed out, everything it touched either melting or catching fire. The monster swept its hand at him, but he dodged as he got hold of a motorcycle and threw at it, taking its head off. The body was stunned for a second before it failed around then got hold of the ground, making more magma that flowed to its missing head's place, replacing it! By then, Brian had helped people evacuate the area with the help of the police. The monster roared at him then started flowing towards him. Brian saw the fight would be taken to the resident area so he turned and ran to another direction, chucking anything he could throw at it.
By five minutes, the monster had left behind a trail of cooled off magma on the road and tonnes of damage while its body was riddled with holes that kept increasing no matter how much it tried to heal. Getting angry, it punched on the ground just as Brian was about to leap, disrupting and unbalancing him, making him fall. It then stretched out its huge hand and clasped him.
Brian roared in pain as the magma burnt off his clothes and started searing his skin but that was it, just searing! The monster frowned when it saw he had not been turned to ashes like its other victims. It roared as its body started glowing, meaning it was getting hotter. But then, something astonishing happened. Brian's body started heating with the familiar warmth and the searing stopped as the wounds healed. Brian then looked at the monster, his whole body glowing golden.
"Let me show you real heat!" Brian said then roared at the sky before his body exploded in a golden glow. The wave didn't even spread as if the target was only the monster and when the glow faded, only a naked Brian remained, standing on a good amount of ashes! He looked around, unable to believe that even magma can be turned to ashes! He then saw a helicopter flashlight coming his way so he leaped onto a building and ran off.
