2 A Life Anew

Author's note- Isaac's about to start his new life, let's see how he does.

A sudden flash off pain woke me up from what was apparently a four-year slumber as memories bombarded me. It was hard to believe but the evidence was in my mind. Four years of memories had deposited themselves in my mind, most of it mundane and useless however, some of those memories would be quite helpful, like my name. My name is Isaac Queen and apparently I am the adopted son of Robert and Moira Queen, I did not see that coming. As far as I could tell I never met my birth parents, and the Queens brought me home from the hospital a week or two after I was born.

"Isaac Queen, get out of there you're going to be late for your tutoring session!" A voice yelled out from behind my door jarring me from my thoughts.

"Coming mom!" I yelled as I moved to get ready. It seemed that even without me conscious, this body's vast intelligence was noticeable and as a result Moira decided I needed tutors to help hone it.

"This is gonna be so much fun." I thought sarcastically. As I went through my hygiene rituals I thought about the things I needed to get done and decided they could wait, I was going to enjoy my new life as a young master. Before I headed down to the lobby area I snuck into Thea's room to look in on my new little sis. She was just laying in the crib, eyes wide open when she saw me. Her eyes went wide, and she let loose a big grin and giggled as I poked her belly. She was adorable.

Not long after, I met my new mother in the lobby and all I could say was damn! In my memories I saw Moira as a younger version of the actress in Arrow, but somehow this Moira got significantly more attractive. She looked like a curvier, more prefect version of Amanda Schull, this had to be a part of the changes God said he made. As I stood eyeballing my new mother a man came in and stood next to her.

"Hey mom, who's the stranger? I asked flippantly.

"Isaac, show some manners!" Moira chided me, she turned to the young man and introduced him.

"This is Dr. Nick Mosely, he will be your new tutor for the foreseeable future, behave. She warned.

"Yes mam!" I saluted jokingly. That got a laugh from my mom, though she tried to hide it.

"Mom can I also get some tutors for some physical exercise?" I asked as I used the deadly combo of big eyes and pouty lips to try and convince my mom. Mom took one look at my face and sighed.

"You know I hate it when you do that, it's not fair." I kept up the faces hoping to break her resolve. After only about a minute more, mom finally broke.

"Fine Isaac, but only if you show me you're serious about it otherwise the sessions stop!" She said firmly. Just like that I set up my future excuse for my martial arts and weapons skills, without being too suspicious. After talking with my mom for a few more minutes it was finally time for my tutoring session to begin.

My time with Dr. Mosley was spent taking an assessment exam so that he would know where I was academically. I obviously had to tone down my score, no 4 year old, no matter how advanced, should already have University level knowledge. After my tutoring session my day progressed boringly, I ate my meals with the family, played with Thea for a while, and went to the library to devour some books. As I finally headed to bed exhausted at 8pm, being young had some drawbacks, I thought about all the things I had to do. I knew it wasn't going to be easy living in this new world, but my wishes and knowledge of this world gave me a real chance at thriving here. As I drifted off to sleep my mind could help but to think of all the changes I'd make to this world and all the women I'd conquer.

Time passed quickly for me over the years, though that was no surprise given all the activities and studying that I had filled my days with. Even still, it was sometimes hard to imagine that 10 years had already passed since I woke up in this world. It felt like it was only yesterday that I first met my adopted family, and now I was a teenager. As much as I loved getting a new lease on life and growing up with my new family, one thing I didn't miss was puberty. I had forgotten how much of a bitch it was the first time I went through it and now I was back in the thick of it. Granted with my mentality and experience I had the wisdom and maturity that usually only came with age.

Adolescent issues aside, I had accomplished much over the last ten years. First off was being a great brother, I spoiled the crap out of Thea while also helping her stay more grounded then she appeared in the show, I just had to make sure she stayed that way. Oliver was a different story, he did not take being outshined well, nor did he appreciate his younger brother, by 7 years, graduating high school and college before him. That didn't mean we had a bad relationship, it just meant that there was occasionally friction between us. In fact, our relationship started to improve once I hit puberty, he seemed to like that there was something he could tease me about, though he did try to help as well. Besides being a good brother, I also focused on my education, surprisingly, I wanted to get the best use out of my enhanced intelligence. Currently I already had one PHD and I was currently working on another, I was quite the celebrity in academia for being the youngest PHD recipient in history. To this day I still get requests for interviews for magazines and news stations, none of which I have accepted.

My mother had been beaming with pride since my first skipped grade, she got a smile on her face every time someone talked about my academic achievements. While I did work on other things, like programing and system testing (aka hacking), I also made my family significantly richer with my investing advice. Unexpectedly, it turned out that many of the companies that existed, and were successful, in my original world also existed here. While not all succeeded to the same extent as in my previous life, many of them did and they all added up and made my family a lot of money. However, what I came the furthest in was my physical abilities, I worked daily on the forms I knew for my martial and weapons skills, courtesy of my wish from God. Every day I pushed my body to get better, and it was a resounding success, at 14 I was in incredibly shape and drew attention anytime I took my shirt off.

"ISAAC! Stop staring at yourself in the mirror and hurry up, I'm waiting!"

That shrill yell was the voice of my sister Thea. I was supposed to take her to her friend's house for some party, for some reason she demanded I take her even though I can't drive. I shook my head at that thought and quickly did my morning routine and headed downstairs.

"Tell me again why you need me to ride with you in the car, you know I'm just gonna come right back after right?" I asked as I walked to her.

"Don't you want to spend time with me big brother?" Thea pouted, her eyes wide and wet with unshed tears.

"Oh, cut that out, I taught you that move." I grumbled out, my sister could win an Oscar with her acting, I still regretted teaching her that look, she was way too good at it.

"Let's go, let's go, you're taking too long." She wined as she pulled my out the door and into the waiting car. The driver came out and opened the door for us, we both thanked him and got in. One 25-minute car ride later we finally arrived at Thea's friend's place, I couldn't remember which one it was. As we got out of the car a family greeted us as we entered through the doorway, I couldn't believe it when they introduced themselves as Mr. and Mrs. Grande. Apparently it was their daughter Ariana's 14th birthday and she had invited Thea to her party. After we politely exchanged greetings Ariana came out and dragged Thea away, but not before getting me to promise that I'd stick around for a bit.

I swear, sometimes I my sister had me wrapped around her fingers. Since I couldn't leave immediately I wandered around the house and said hello any guests I saw. The house was quite nice, very well kept, they had a pool in the back yard and plenty of yard space for kids to play. I grew bored after a few minutes when I say a beautiful grand piano and a few guitars in a room towards the back, past the dining room. I couldn't help myself, I started to tickle the ivories, as the old folks used to say, I learned to play both the piano and the guitar in my previous life and continued practicing both in this one. Whenever Thea was fussy or couldn't sleep I'd play, and sing, her some of the songs I knew from my past life, she always seemed to like it. I sat down at the piano and started off with something slow, 'Georgia on my Mind', to get comfortable with it and make sure it was tuned. After a few minutes of play, I got more comfortable and picked up the pace with another Ray Charles song, 'Mess Around'.

Almost immediately I started singing along, what I had forgotten was that the door was open, and I wasn't exactly quiet. Now I was always a good singer, even in my past life, but something about this body took it to another level. I was too caught up in the music to notice at the time, but after about 2 or 3 minutes people started to come around. I transitioned from 'Mess Around' into a song that was very popular at the time; "I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind…" I continued to sing without issue until I hit the chorus. As I sang out "Does that make me crazy" I suddenly heard many voices singing along. My hands and voice stopped abruptly as I looked around, I was shocked to see so many of the guests with their phones out recording me, shocked at what they saw. Of course, my sister was in front of the crowd, her own phone out as well, with an annoying smirk on her face, as if she planned the whole thing. She turned to Ariana Grande, smirk still on her face with her hands on her non-existent hips and said, "I told you he could sing."

"What did you do Thea?" I asked pointedly, my eyes narrowed. Thea slowly turned to me, her smirk gone and her hands at her sides, she tried to put on an innocent smile but I knew her too well. I looked at her and waited.

"I may have told Ari that you were the best singer I knew, and she didn't believe me, so I told her that you'd perform at her party to prove it." 'I knew it!' I thought, I knew there was a reason she demanded I take her to this party and then made me promise to stay.

"hahahaha" I laughed. Thea's mouth dropped.

"Well, did I deliver little sis?" I asked smugly. My sister beamed, she looked so happy at that moment.

"Ugh!" I grunted as a missile named Thea slammed into me.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!!" I chuckled in response.

"Ariana I hope you don't mind; I saw this beautiful piano and couldn't help myself." She looked at me and smiled.

"You're fine, I totally get it. "You were amazing, I really didn't believe Thea when she told me you were good!" I smiled at her kindly.

"That's kind of you to say. I should get out of here." As I pried Thea from around my waist and headed out of the room I turned back to Ariana for a moment.

"Happy Birthday Ariana." I was at the front door when I heard a shout.

"Wait!!" The birthday girl yelled as she ran towards me.

"C-c-can y-you stay and sing some more, pleeeease?!" She panted pleadingly. My sister followed behind her, hands together, pleading with me.

"Ok." I sighed. Don't get me wrong I definitely wanted to build a connection with Ariana Grande but just not today, she's only 14. My mental age made it rather difficult to hang around kids for too long, I was much better with older people.

It took a few minutes, but Ariana's parents were able to bring out a piano and some sound equipment to the back courtyard, where all the food and party decorations were. The back courtyard was quite expansive so there was plenty of space for everything and the weather was gorgeous, the sun was out and there was a nice gentle breeze. I had to admit I was quite nervous as I walked to the impromptu stage, I was not used to preforming for an audience. I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths and sat down at the piano and adjusted the mic stand.

"Ok everyone, let's start with a big happy birthday for our guest of honor Ms. Ariana Grande." At that everyone cheered and yelled out a happy birthday to the young lady, her cheeks lightly dusted pink from embarrassment a smile on her face. I started playing once the noise settled, nothing in particular just something to get their attention. After a minute or so I started with some Amy Winehouse, she was a hit in this world as well. Once I started singing the lyrics to 'Rehab' I knew it was a rap, everyone started cheering and singing along.

I played several songs that day, everything from Ne-Yo's 'So Sick' and Outkast's 'Hey Ya" to some Three Doors Down and The Killers. Overall, everyone seemed to have a blast especially the birthday girl, she even gave me a massive hug and a kiss to the cheek, she promptly ran away right after. As the party winded down I grabbed Thea so that I could finally leave, we said our goodbye's and headed out the door. Our car pulled up a moment later and we were on our way, the whole drive home I had this gnawing feeling and just knew that, that party was gonna bite me in the ass.
