Teachers Choice

Coughing awkwardly, Mo Tianxing walked up to the crowd.

" Ah Ms. Shu, I think we have a misunderstanding. "

Taking the disguised hint from Mo Tianxing, the crowd all nodded their heads in unison.

" Hahaha Ms. Shu, we weren't trying to cause any harm" Old Qin laughed nervously.

" We got carried away with the thought of a new genius appearing in our little kingdom."

Generally speaking, Yuan Fu Kingdom wasn't that small. It spanned over 100,000 kilometers and could be considered one of the largest kingdoms around, with the neighboring Bai Ying Kingdom being the largest.

Shu Xiu Lan looked at the man with emotionless eyes as if looking at a corpse.

Noticing the rising tension, Mo Tianxing hurriedly changed the topic.

"Let's move on to the next section, shall we?"

As everyone followed after Mo Tianxing, Xiu Lan looked at their backs with a mocking glare but otherwise retrained her bloodlust. She knew there were many hidden powerful people and if she killed anyone that it would be difficult to escape.

Difficult, not impossible.

From the bushes, men and women came gliding in. They were all mostly middle-aged people.

" These are the teachers that will guide you on your path to greatness in your years at this school."

As he introduced them, the teachers and students and parents were assessing each other.

The teachers, in particular, were more interested in Xiao Mei than anyone else.

They stared at her hardly paying attention to the other kids. The parents started to be irritated that the teachers were not paying any attention to their own kids and Noticing the awkward atmosphere, Mo Tianxing went to address the teachers but a paper butterfly suddenly swooped and landed in front of him.

Recognizing what it was, Mo Tianxing hurriedly opened it up. It was a message from the principal that said ' The little brat will be under my care '. After reading the paper shredded itself and disappeared.

Stunned, Mo Tianxing glanced in the principal's direction. Cold sweating he continued with the announcements.

"Teachers and parents, it is now time for the teachers to choose their students. As always, we will start in order of seniority. However...the child, Shu Xiao Mei, is to be excluded from this test. She will be under the instructions from the principal himself."

Sounds of shock and discontent rang out from the uproarious crowd. Still having learned their lesson from last time they settled down after a disapproving stare from Mo Tianxing. It wasn't as if it was unfair, Shu Xiao Mei was worth being taught personally by the esteemed principal but they couldn't help wishing that it was their kid instead getting that treatment.

The teachers then began to choose their students in an orderly fashion. Though some secretly sighed at the missed opportunity to teach such an astonishing genius.

After the test was completed, the teachers took their respective students to get them situated in their spiritual caves. As everyone filed out, Shu Xiu Lan held Xiao Mei nervously knowing that her time with her would be up soon.

Sensing her mother's discomfort, little bean looked up and asked,

" Mama, what's wrong?". She tilted her head in confusion. Noticing her odd behavior, Shu Xiu Lan snapped out of her state. Smiling gently at Xiao Mei, Shu Lan kneeled and looked directly at her little bean. "Mama is going to miss you a whole lot. I need you to listen to your teachers and be a good girl ok? Don't give trouble but also don't bend to anyone's whims either. Do what you think is right. Mommy will always support you ok?"

Knowing her mother was telling her something important, she listened attentively and nodded.

Patting her head Shu Lan smiled however her smile froze when she sensed someone standing behind her. Moving quickly, she pulled Xiao Lan behind her and stood guard a dagger hidden in her sleeves.

A man stood 6 feet in front of her.

' H-How did he get behind me without me sensing him at all!?' Puzzled, Xiu Lan knew this man was extremely dangerous if even she couldn't sense him. Staring at him fiercely, she waited.

---

He looked curiously at the woman that caught his attention. Softly conversing with her child eye to eye, she seemed to want to convey her feelings in a way so the child gets it.

She confuses him.

Yes, he admits she is astonishingly beautiful but what kind of beauty hasn't he seen?

He hasn't the faintest clue as to why he was attracted to this woman when he first saw her. She seems to give off a dangerous aura now and then but it would be quickly be concealed the next second. You wouldn't notice anything if you weren't paying close attention. Like a sheathed sword, she can strike at any time. Still, he could feel that there was something mysterious and captivating about her.

As for the child, he was curious about her as well. Her elemental energy shined very brightly when he touched her earlier so he knew she would have an amazing result in the test. What he doesn't know, is how it was possible to find someone like this in this backwater place.

Were they spies sent from the Upper realms? Or, were they simply normal people blessed with an unearthly disposition? He had a strong desire to unravel all the secrets about them. Anyone who knew him would know that when he sets his eyes in something...there was no escaping. Haha~

" Hmm? You took so much time to notice I was behind you....tut tut-tut. Careless aren't we?" he said as he walks closer. He glanced at the hidden dagger and smirked.

" Stay where you are!" Shu Lan said coldly. She brandished her weapon and placed it in front of her chest, ready to strike.

Observing him for a second, she asked: " State your purpose."

Watching her Mother bear behavior, he decided to stop teasing her. He chuckled.

" Relax. Also, it's better to sheathe your weapon in my presence as well as in my school if you don't want to be revoked entry."

"Just saying" he shrugged and nonchalantly walked toward a chair and sat down but not before wiping the chair thoroughly with a cloth.

' His school? Don't tell me that he's the principal!?' she thought as her expression fluctuated from disbelief to indifferent.
