2 School

"I have everything dad!"

We are currently in a coach heading towards the school gates.

"Are you sure? Agatha did you pack her-" Dad inquires anxiously.

"Tedros, seriously she'll be FINE. Besides Sophie's there and you know how she dotes on her. She even gave her a nickname." Mom replies rolling her eyes.

"Thats what I'm worried about" he mutters out of the earshot of my mom. Then he goes back to giving pointers to my brother on how to impress his classmates with his skill with the sword.

My mom glances over at me. She's not really the mushy gushy type but she's pretty cool.

"You okay?"

"Yeah."

"You may not fit in immediately but don't let those prissy pansies get you down. Just because they may not appreciate your goodness at first doesn't mean you don't have it. Back in my day-"

"I know mom, I know. Besides I'll fit in just fine in evil."

She whips her head towards me sharply. "Who dared to say you are not good enough for good?"

I blink, surprised. "No one mom, but I want to be in evil. It's way cooler than good."

She stares at me for a second then her face transforms into a worn out expression and she shakes her head. "You may have your dad's looks but you definitely have my personality."

Just then the coachman informs us we have arrived at the entrance. My brother eagerly peers out the window and even I, who has been here plenty of times to visit aunt Sophie can't keep from being awed by the grandness of it.

Two twin castles rise above the clouds. One is dark and carries with it a gloomy aura. The other is silver and sparkles in the morning sun. Around the silver one is a moat of pristine clear water and surrounding the black on is a moat of thick dark sludge. I know Sophie has been negotiating with the other teachers to fill the moat with cotton candy instead of sludge but they say it doesn't really fit with the concept of "evil".

We climb out of the carriage and start walking inside the castles.

"What's going to happen now?" My brother Cedric asks, practically bouncing in his seat.

"Now," dad tells us, "it's time for the test."

"Test?"

"Back in my day children from good families went to good and children from evil families went to evil but now they decided to set up this test which determines whether one is good or evil."

I nod, I'd heard of this test.

"Is everyone really either good or evil?" My brother inquires.

"It's rare that someone is pure good and evil, the last case of that was-"

"Me and Sophie," my mom interrupts. "You know the story of how the two of us came to this school and what happened right?"

We nod our heads.

"Well, seeing as how as some of the villains, you know them as Aunt Hester, Aunt Anadil, and Aunt Dot helped us, the teachers decided that it wasn't fair that students be forced to be assigned a side based on their family. So, they developed the test."

My brother looks nervous and I must admit I'm felling a tad bit so as well.

"What's the test about?" I ask.

My mom just smiles creepily at me, a remanant of the days when she was scorned as an outcast and before she found the goodness within her and became beautiful.

"You'll see."
