38 A New Orphan
The news about Konoha being attacked by the most powerful of all tail beast quickly spread.
Konoha, being one of the major villages and rumored to be one of the most powerful village...was devastated by the attack.
Around 60% of the building was destroyed, luckily only a minimal casualty was reported due to the late 4th Hokage teleporting the beast away.
The other village who were at odds or had enmity with Konoha rejoice at the attack and celebrated even louder when the infamous Yellow Flash had died in the attack.
Minato Namikaze was the bane of every village that went to war against Konoha, his teleportation technique ensure a sure win.
The Hirashin Jutsu was feared in the battlefield and for a good reason. Ambush will not work nor a trap, the user could simply teleport away. Space technique was notoriously hard to learn and if any
shinobi were to successfully learn it, he or she will often be promoted to an important figure.
That is why the other village who reports stated that the 4th Hokage had met his end rejoice, some pity such a young genius had died so young but overall many villages had begun sending troops near the border of the Konoha.
Konoha had never suffered such devastating damage, they wanted to vent their anger, they lost their family, wealth and their home.
The villager morale was at an all-time low, the higher up of Konoha naturally knew about this and a meeting on how to improve it was called.
After an extremely long time, the 3rd Hokage who had retaken the Hokage mantle decide to sacrifice Naruto for the greater good.
Since Minato had died due to using the forbidden technique and Kushina dead due to having the Kyuubi extracted from her, there was almost none who protest it for sacrificing Naruto the to fire.
The 3rd Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen knew that Minato would never allow this to happen, but he knew he needs to make a choice between one and many, this then became clear which choice is better...as Hokage.
He dropped the bombshell subtlely that an orphan named Naruto was chosen to be the new Jinchuriki of the Kyuubi, he names the child Naruto Uzumaki in commemoration of the sacrifice the previous holder made with the 4th Hokage to ensure the safety of the village.
Of course, the villager chosen representative calls for the immediate jail and execution of the demon.
The village representative anger was understandable, he had such considerable wealth and spend everything for his family...but now...they barely had enough to survive for the next month. His child who recently reaches 5 years old was crushed by the debris of their home, her wife
crippled due to the attempt to save her child. He who had but wish for a good and simple life for his family, and now...it is all gone because of this demon brat decide to appear.
The Shinobi side was tamer, but even they too suffered severe damage to their clan, they too support the heavy solitary jailing until the time calls for the weapon to be unleashed for war, they as shinobi naturally understood the need for such a weapon.
The elder and Danzo suggest for brainwashing to be an emotionless weapon that will carry every bidding and command of the village, to sacrifice everything it had for the village..and to die for the village.
Hiruzen was torn, he did not expect this to explode to this scale, he then uses his authority and made a law where it is a capital offense to tell the prisoner of the demon he bears.
This was naturally met with outcries, but Hiruzen wanted to make sure that the child of the 4th Hokage had a childhood before being turn
into a weapon.
The 3rd Hokage put his foot down and refuse to budge on the order.
After the meeting, Danzo and the village representative naturally made an agreement to help spread the word of the demon brat being responsible and encourage other's to bring justice towards the
deserving demon spawn.
It did not take long for everyone to attempt to find the demon and unleash their righteous justice upon it.
Sarutobi was then forced to make another law stating protecting Naruto from brutal wound and injury that might kill him, such law had lessened villager trust within him and weaken his already dwindling authority.
Notice how Sarutobi did not prevent the injury but instead made it so that it must not be too severe?
Sarutobi had no choice but to sacrifice Naruto as something for the villager and shinobi alike to vent their anger at.
The orphanage Naruto was dumped into? Naruto was barely fed nor treated. They treated his entire existence as something to be disgusted at.
Gilgamesh was of course interested in finding out Naruto childhood as the show did not potray it much at all, just bit and pieces.
When he saw this, it naturally made him furious, he was no saint but even him would not treat a child like this.
Gilgamesh wanted to destroy the Orphanage now and then...but decided against it.
He orders Albedo and or Jeanne to secretly take care of Naruto..feed him and keep him healthy.
The 3rd Hokage could not spare any ANBU to guard Naruto at all due to the fact all of them are either busy protecting the village and or on a mission. This cause Naruto often to have assassin and or villager attempting to murder the demon brat.
They were of course mysteriously dead, some were torn from the inside and some were put on a cross. This only increases the wariness, anger and fear the villager and shinobi had towards the Jinchuriki, as they thought it was the demon protecting himself to recover
to his full strength and destroy the village.
They beg for the Hokage to kill it when that failed, they, of course, tried a different way.
The caretaker in the orphannage were rewarded and or advised to mistreat the demon brat.
The other child was praised and rewarded when they abuse the demon brat
The food seller often refuses and or charge a ridiculously high price for the food.
Anyone who dare show kindness to the demon brat were ganged up upon.
If Minato and or Kushina were to ever witness this, they would have declare war on their own village.
The child they so wish for..was being abused by the village they had given their life to.
Even Jeanne and Albedo..demon..were repulse from this kind of action.
They had wanted to show mercy to the child by ending his life and or take it away but, was forbid by their master and explained to them why now is not the right time.
The child that is naruto was adorable, how could anyone abuse an adorable child. They had counted at least 20 assassination attempt on
the child already, Jeanne and Albedo had taken great pleasure in ending such kind of insect.
They were puzzled to why their master would instruct them to watch over a child, they knew their master was soft towards children and especially an adorable one.
They were also instructed to let Naruto see the dark side of the world, their master wishes to approach Naruto when he is of suitable age to have a conversation with him.
They were told that this child was the suppose Child of Prophecy and the one favored by fate itself, this child would either bring great peace and or destruction upon the world.

Naruto was forced to grow up faster then others and mature more quickly than any child.
He was not dumb, he knew that the villager hated him for something and made the connection that he was the holder of some kind of demon that had attacked the village and thus making him the target of the entire village.
He knew that he must play a dumb front, if he were to ever become smart and or vigilant, he might be killed. Therefore he put up a dumb persona that made others believe that he is stupid and loud.
It works, as when he was playing dumb, it lessens the beating that he had to endure.
He knew that there were some people helping him, the people who were trying to kill him will mysteriously disappear and food will magically appear in front of him without cost. He knew that such people would not wish him harm and wishes to find his saviior..perhaps..with them
he could escape to have a better life.
Oh, he knew that he was somehow special, for the Hokage to personally take intrest in but a nameless orphan would obviously sound suspicious.
He notice that the old man was trying to install himself as someone who he can trust and think of as family, he knew that this old man had a hidden motive and simply played along for now for he knew that he is weak and feeble....for now.
