7 chapter 6: planning for the future

I looked at the Caravan master who had busted into my house shouting. Layla do not seem happy one bit as I started to get up pushing her off politely.

" what is it about and I thought I said tonight was meant to be a party night?"

the Caravan Master scratch the back of his head laughing a bit as he would speak calmly.

" well we've gone some word about a group of people coming towards our Village from a newly destroyed one. one of the people had sent us a message ahead of time about there was a family of a blacksmith. two family of farmers. and a family of miners. so I figured you were going to want to know about this."

my eyes light up immediately with this news it was great news meaning that we could have a family mining or and be able to properly fit out our guards with armor that doesn't need like 50 different repairs or needing a sword repaired every week or so. Fate has truly throw me a proverbial bone.

" well you were quite right I would like to know that I'll be there in a few minutes."

as I said this the Caravan Master nodded as he would leave and close the door behind him. Layla wrapped her arms around me with a smile.

" I don't know what you had planned but looks like we have to continue at another time."

as he said this he grabbed a hold of the back of she neck and pulled her ear to be next to his mouth as Jack Would Whisperer.

" my darling Queen~"

Jack whispered in a very seductive tone which made her blush. Jack would get up and begin to unfasten his armor as now he was in nothing but normal clothes. so he kept his hood on he began leaving his house as he left and close the door he could hear Layla speak.

" dammit that was the best time everyone was busy with the party"

Jack with smile to himself as he walked over to the three Caravan Masters. the one who had given the news to Jack spoke first.

" my Lord this meeting's main agenda is to figure out where these families will be best put in terms of housing."

the Caravan Master would say as he pointed to the map that was made to make it easier to plan things about the town. I would speak calmly as I looked at the map I would tap into one of the houses that were on the map that we're close to where one of the Caravan Masters said there was a mine.

" this is where the mining family should go closest to their occupation. we should also have the blacksmith seeing family close to them most likely to the center of town. which we should build the guard Barracks near so the armor weapons of the guards can get maintenance as soon as they're off-duty on their way to the guard barracks. and the two farming family should not be side-by-side with each other perhaps one on our Western Edge. and the other family on our Northern Edge. but also having these families close to the blacksmith so we can make sure their tools and farming equipment get repaired."

all the Caravan Masters nodded then one of the other Caravan Masters spoke up.

" my Lord perhaps we should have one of the mining family also begin Construction of a Stairway from The Cliffs under side to get to the top of it. so guards can find it easier to get to the Watchtower we do plan on building there."

the remaining Caravan master who hadn't speaking began to speak as well.

" we should also figure out which one is more important getting the farmers set up first or the blacksmith or the miners."

Jack listen to the two men carefully as he would then speak.

" the path being an Stairway to the Cliffside topside would be good idea but I do not believe that should happen. because then if someone sneaks in through that angle it will make them be able to travel through the village very easily. well also making it harder for us to capture spies. instead I believe a path going around the edge that our soldiers have to do anyway to get up there. and for the family situations I believe we need to get the blacksmith up and running first then the farmers and then the miners. because the latter requires tools and if we had the blacksmith up and running first would make supplying them with these tools much easier. then we get the farmer set up because getting them starting to grow food will prove very useful. since we already have a stone quarry the miners can already get back into things until we can either find an underground cave close to the Village or have buildings out stretch to the forest to mine the natural deposits of ores in those caves dwelling Within the forest."

all three men seem to nod in agreement. then the first man begins speak again.

" alright then then how about we set up future plans as well?"

all of us began looking at each other nodding as I would then begin to speak.

" yes having plans set up in case of emergency would definitely be good. no I have to ask this do we have anyone already who may be experience in baking or messaging a Tavern?."

one of the men's spoken up he had a long black ponytail and his eyes were a silver like color.

" yes we have two people who were Baker's back in my hometown before it was destroyed."

I nodded towards him as been another man began to speak.

" my son and my daughter-in-law ran a Tavern back home so they can do that."

I nodded towards him as then I would speak.

" alright then those two are settled now we'll have to plan for the set Patrol routes for our guards. and if we should decide to send people out to look for any Villages that may have been recently destroyed too bring people back to our village. because we can't rely on everyone getting word about our village."

the men begin to nod as well as then I felt a hand on my back. it was my protege and the person I put in charge of soldiers before my protege and his men join us.

" yes you two?

the man spoke first my protege seems to want him speaking first.

" my Lord me and this giant of a man have been talkin and we has decided I will be captain of the guard and he would be captain of your personal guard. and since we have overheard you talking about Patrol routes we figured we should be here so we can reliably relay the orders."

I look to my protege as he nodded confirming what this man has said I was in gestured for them to take a seat at the table my protege would speak.

" my Lord I believe we should have each Patrol being a group of four men. and should always have at least 8 people upon the cliff side above us. within a periods time of 4 hours of one Patrol replacing half of those 8 people. providing three separate shift changes during the night. will having two Patrols patrolling The Village at night. then another three patrols guarding the walls. on the same shift change as the people up on the cliff side above us. with one Patrol standing watch for 4 hours then we'll be swapped out with a second and then the Third. this provides a schedule which everyone is working of course any guards that volunteer to patrol outside of our walls should be at least eight people within that Patrol to strengthen their chances of getting back to the Village if attacked. and we may have to start training your personal guard which should be at least 10 people including myself. the patrol times can be beside a later date which will be cited after the training has been completed."

everyone nodded at my protegerse suggestion as the man who traveled with him spoke up.

" I do agree with that way of thinking but I do believe we should have a group of five people sent out to the outlands every so often throughout the night and day that will keep track to see if any monsters may be camping out or preparing to attack the village. or to end up escorting any refugees that may end up wandering towards near the village. that way we can grow our population if they decide to stay as well as increasing the number of people who could become guards which will increase our security. as well we need to design some protocols got the guards and people The Village should follow and the case is of such as the mining Quarry breaking into a large cave system. such as Retreat to the surface and request guards to come with them with Lumber to self fortifications regards to be posted that until we can say for certain the case system state with no monsters in it or possible threats."

I nodded to these ideas they were wonderful and I begin to speak.

" yes both of your suggestions are very good I believe we should Implement them perhaps in the afternoon of tomorrow so that way everyone who has a hangover well have one by the time we get announced this. we should also send guards with any groups we sent out to gather more lumber that way The Woodsman will be safe."

the 5 people and including Jack at the table spoke for a couple hours. disgusting and conversing about what they should do they all eventually came to agreed-upon decisions and all be in the slit up the five people went back to the party to enjoy themselves. Jack however was a bit hungry he knew he would have to feed soon as he entered his house and closes the door behind him. he would see Layla was passed out underneath the sheets. Jax sign as he moved what's the bed to fall asleep himself or at least what constituted as sleep for him. as he had done in two the bed he closed his eyes and start to drift off.
