1 Chapter 1: A New World?

5 years after the events in the Eggman War, Dark was near a ravine, looking at the night sky. He thought to himself:

- (I wonder.....If the crime in this world ended, what would I do?.....)

When Dark said those words, an star started to get brighter. The grey hedgehog looked at that star.

- What the-?.....Why that star is-

Suddently, the light of the star blinded him for a few seconds. When the light faded out, he looked around and saw that he is in a different place, that he never went before. He was in a forest, with tall trees, some shrubs and some flowers. The hedgehog standed still and looked at the trees, to the buches, to the grass....He never saw anything like that. He has feeling every energy from the trees, ut it was different from what he felt before. Dark said, confused:

- Where the heck am I?

Dark walked through the forest, thinking where he was or what just happened. After a couple of minutes, walking between the trees and the bushes, the grey hedgehog founds an house in the middle of the forest. The house wasn't abandoned, it was looking that it was brand new. It was an small pink house, with some windows around it and a front door. Dark started to walk towards the hous and looked at one of the windows. When he looked inside, he saw an female hedgehog.

The hedgehog has purple fur, with an black stripe on her quills, and her eyes were with different colours: the right eye was purple, and the left was green.

The female hedgehog looked at Dark and started to run to the front door. Dark, realizing that she now knows that he was there, runned to the front door to see hat was gonna to happen. The female hedeghog oppened the door, looked at the grey hedgehog and asked:

- Who are you? Why were you looking through my window?

Dark looked at her and said:

- I'm Dark, Dark the Hedgehog. And, who are you?

She walked towards Dark and answered:

- My name is Zippy Jennifer Lily, but my friends call me Zip.

Dark folded his arms and said:

- It's nice to meet you, Zippy.

Zip blushes a bit and thinks:

- (Okay...Why do I fell..strange?...Am I?)

Dark asked:

- So tell me...Do you know where I am?

Zip looked at Dark and answered:

- Oh, yes. You're in the Planet Chaoride.

Dark looked surprised and thought:

- (Wait....I'm in a....)

Zip looked at the grey hedgehog and asked:

- Dark, are you okay?

- Oh...yes. You don't need to worry about me. - Dark answered, while folding his arms.

- Okay. Do you...have a place to stay?

- No, I don't.

Zip blushed a bit and asked:

- Want to me in my house, for tonight?

Dark blushed, turned his head away and answered:

- Okay, I accept your invitation.

Zip smiled and led Dark into his house. Inside, the house had an living room, an kitchen an little corridor that leaded to the guest room and her private bedroom. Dark looked at the house and said:

- This is....a lovely house..

Zip smiled and said:

- Thank you. I've been living here for some years.

Dark looked at Zip and asked:

- Do you have some visits?

Zip walked and sit on the couch:

- I normally don't have much visits here. I usually go out with my friends, nothing much.

Dark folded his arms and said:

- I see....

Dark looked at the living room, thinking about something. Zip looked at Dark and asked:

- And you? Where do you live?

Dark looked down, with an saw d looking on his face. Zip said:

- Oh....I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-

- I live in everywhere...But, at the same time, nowhere...

Zip looked at the grey hedgehog and started to walk towards him. Dark looked at his hands, remembering his past. Every single moment he went through was running through his mind. Zip hugged Dark and tried to comforted the grey hedgehog. Dark looked at Zip and wrapped his arms around the purple hedgehog. Zip said:

- I'm...sorry for that..It must be hard living without a home..

Dark pushed back the hug and, sitting on the couch, says:

- It's....not that difficult, when you're alone for more than 40 years.

Zip looked surprised and asked:

- What?!

Dark stayed calm and answered:

- I'm not the kind of guy that wants to be with people....After what I've done...

Zip sit right next to Dark and asked calmly:

- What did you do in that time?

Dark looked at Zip and then looked to his hands. The grey hedgehog stayed silent after Zip asked that question. Zip said:

- Okay. If you don't want to share it...it's okay-

- Do you want to know who am I exactly?

Zip nobed and looked at Dark, waiting for his story. Dark used his chaos powers to create an little flame and started to say:

- It started 500 years ago, in a small village

The flame started to show memories of his past, as he started to talk about them. Zip looked at the flame amazed, because she didn't saw someone doing that before. Dark continued:

- I was a little hedgehog when I was left in that village. The master of that small village adopted me and trained me for years until I was an elite warrior. One of our battles against an rival clan, my master was killed right in front of me and, with all the rage I was in after that, I made an explosion and killed all their army. After what happened, I trained in the mountains alone for five years and I came back as a master of the village. But, one day, When I was mapping the territory, I was assassinated in a cave by an spy from the rival clan. After 500 years, I came back from live and got this diamond necklace. And, after that well....That's another story.

Zip looked at Dark and said:

- Ohh...Tell about the rest.

Dark gets up and answers:

- If I tell you my entire past... - looks at Zip - You would run away from me.

Zip petrified by the look of Dark's face, but then she looked away and said:

- Okay. I was just curious.

Dark turned at her and said:

- I'll not tell you the rest, yet.

The two hedgehogs were in silence for a while, and Zip interrupted the silence, saying:

- Well...What do you want to do?

Dark folded his arms and answered:

- hm....I don't know. What do you want?

Zip remembered of something and said:

- Let's play a bit of "Truth or Dare".

- What is that game? - asked Dark, confused.

Zip sits on the floor and says:

- It's a game where you ask to someone "truth or dare". If the person chooses "truth", you can ask any question you like, but if the person chooses "dare", you can make any challenge you like.

Dark sit in front of Zip and said:

- Okay. I'll play with you.

Zip smiled at him. Zip asked:

- Okay Dark, truth or dare?

Dark answered:

- Truth.

- Okay. Do you had a crush on someone?

Dark blushed a bit because of the question and said:

- No, I didn't.

Zip smiled and said:

- Okay. It's your turn now.

- Zip, truth or dare?

- hm... I'll pick truth.

Dark closed his eyes and asked:

- Well...What was your most embarrassing moment?

Zip rubbed his hand on the back of her head and answered:

- Uhh...Well, when I was with my friends near a lake, one of them jumped on me to try to tickle me. We rolled on the ground for a bit, but then I rolled to the lake and I fell on the water.

- Really?

- Yea...And that was super embarrassing in that time, but today I just laugh with my friends about that.

Zip rubbed his hands together and asked:

- Okay Dark, truth or dare?

- I'll go for dare.

- Okay...I dare you to go to the kitchen, grab the hottest pepper and eat it.

Dark looked at Zip, as he was getting up. The grey hedgehog walked to the kitchen, grabbed the carolina reaper and walked back to the living room. Zip said:

- Come on. Eat it.

Dark eated the whole pepper and started to chew. Zip looked at Dark, waiting for something to happen, but Dark just continued chewing the pepper. Zip thought:

- (How can he-?....Is he immune to the spiciest pepper?)

Dark swallowed the pepper and sited in front of Zip like nothing happened. Zip looked at Dark amazed and asked:

- How. did you. just eated that?

Dark smilled at Zip and answered:

- Well, let's just say that I can resist all ypes of spiciness.

- Okay. Well, it's your turn.

- Truth or dare?

- Truth.

- Okay Zip...

Dark felt an great power level outside and asked:

- Did you felt that?

Zip looked confused and asked:

- What do you mean by that?

Dark got up and walked to the door, to hear if someone it's outside. Zip followed him and asked:

- What is it, Dark?

Dark made an signal to lower the volume and answered, whispering:

- I think some enemy it's outside.

Zip said, whispering:

- What are you saying?

Dark opened the door and saw another hedgehog. He said:

- Who are you?

The hedgehog answered:

- I should ask to you the same thing. Who are you and why are you here?

Dark started to charge his fist and growled at the unknown hedgehog. Zip looked at the hedgehog and said:

- Vesta.

Zip ran to the hedgehog and hugged her. Dark asked:

- Do you guys know each other?

Zip answered:

- oh yea.. - looks at Vesta - Vesta, this is Dark. He's a traveler. - turns to Dark- Dark, this is Vesta. She's my best friend and a princess.

Vesta putted her hand on Zip's shoulder and whisper to her ear:

- I told you to not say that to strangers.

Dark folded his arms and said to Vesta:

- Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Vesta.

Vesta looked at Dark and replied:

- It's a pleasure to meet you to Dark. Say, where are you from?

Dark looked down for a second and answered:

- It's...difficult.

Vesta looked at Dark and said:

- Oh I..I'm sorry.

- No, it's okay. - replied Dark - And you Vesta?

Vesta answered:

- Well...I was born in a royal family...and, I ran away.

- Really? - asked Dark.

- Yes.

- Well, that's the first time I heard that a princess ran away from her duty.... - Dark folded his arms and smiled at Vesta - I appreciate people like that.

Vesta smiled. Dark looked at her outfit anf asked:

Vesta looked down and answered:

- Really? - asked Vesta, looking at Dark.

- Yes...Some of my sompanions were dressed like that...after they..

Zip put her hand on Dark's shoulder and said:

- Hey. Don't be like that...Everyone have their ups and downs..

Dark looked at Zip, then down and replied:

- I know that but...In my entire life, I've encountered death a lot of times...

Vesta and Zip looked at Dark as he continued:

- I saw my companions die in a war...I saw I own brother die in front of me.. - Dark's fist started to glow an bloddy red light and the hedgehog started to cry.

Vesta and Zip hugged Dark and Vesta said:

- Look, I know that its difficult, but you have to live with it, to let it go. The time takes care of the rest...

Dark replied:

- It's not that easy.. - Dark walked a bit away - I'm more older that I look..

Vesta and Zip looked at Dark confused and Zip asked:

- So, how old are you exactly?

Dark turned to them and answered:

- I'm five hundred years.
