4 4- Careful of what you wish for

Julian was currently feeling like the biggest douch ever. Now, why was he feeling like that? Well, after recovering from the equivalent of a flashbang hitting him the face, he had found himself staring up at a dark blue sky. Sign of the sun on the verge of leaving his place for the moon.

That was the first thing he remarked when he arrived in this world, the second was that he was apparently stuck in place and unable to move. He was lucky he wasn't someone claustrauphobic, because if he had he would have died of a heart attack right there.

The third thing he took note of, was of the state of displacement he was in and the feeling of being held in the arms of someone, their soft embraces making him lean toward his carrier being female.

He wasn't exactly an expert in biology, his areas of expertises being more towards physics and mecanics, as well as computer science. Nevertheless, he at least knew that the neck muscles of babies in their early life were too weak to support their own head.

'At least the muscles of normal ones' Julian mused.

It was with these thoughts that Julian lifted his head a bit to see who he instinctively knew to be his the one who had saved him from a certain death by bringing the once embryonic him to term herself.

The first thing to come to mind when seeing her for the first time would be "immaculate". In relation to her white hair, snow white skin and ice blue eyes.

Julian was in awe of the fact that her beauty was but a single step behind Kass, the most gorgeous woman he ever saw in his life by so much it wasn't even funny anymore.

Even so, this absolute-zero looking woman was currently wearing a conflicted expression, one he just knew was caused by sadness.

Her expression suddenly worsened for a moment before he felt themselves climbing up what could only be little steps before stopping moving entirely.

A little confused at what was happening he looked more closely at the environment around him, they were currently in what seemed to be a residential area with mundane looking houses. It was in front of one such house that they were now stationed.

Redirecting his gaze to his adoptive mother? He was met by a pair of equaly surprised ice blue eyes.

He was a little nervous at first for reasons he was not even aware of himself. Nervousness that came and went as fast as a breeze when she started rocking him slightly in her arms and, for a reason that for the name of Kassmorra he didn't know started speaking to him like he would understand her. Well, he did, but she wasn't supposed to know. Or were young gods maybe equipped with early awareness? Something to ponder more on later.

For now, the more his now confirmed non blood related mother was talking. The more the warmth in himself was growing. But the more it was growing, the more an horrified feeling was equaly festering. He had basically forced someone in a state of early to late pregnancy for hundreds of years. She hadn't spoken about it, only speaking how she was terrified of feeling like a mortal at the beginning. But Jukian was somewhat aware how much of a burden being pregnant was.

Feeling of heaviness, back pain, trouble sleeping, tiredness, hot flashes and many other unpleasant things could and would happen during a pregnancy. it looked shitty enough for the duration of one year, then how would it feel for possibly hundreds of time that?

With how she was speaking of having all the symptoms of a normal pregnancy, it seemed that it was indeed the case.

He could only feel sorry for her and feeling a certain disgust and anger at himself for just forcing someone to go through that, god or not.

It was one thing to talk and think about something, but another thing to see and live it yourself. He couldn't possibky have thought about everything when making his wishes.

He was lucky his adoptive mother was seemingly not thinking much of it. For all he knew, the goddess that decided to take him in in a bout of compassion could have been coarsed, menaced or even forced to go through her pregnancy of him to the end. Because it was what his wish had entailed, something coming initially from a good intention and going through this something to the end, that's all. The how she would go through hundreds of years of pregnancy, never giving up, unmentioned. The pregnancy in question being unspecified too by the way, resulting in a goddess going through it like a mortal woman.

Even so, he soon calmed himself and stopped thinking about. His mother didn't seem to hold any resentment, quite the contrary in fact, her soft and loving embrace around him almost bringing to him tears.

He now had categorized her as an angel in his mind. Something ironic since she was literally a goddess.

Afterward, she spoke of the phenomena his birth had apparently caused, a serious and curious disaster for all the factions around the world. Serious because all of humanity was suspicious or convinced that the supernatural, even if only for believing that gods did really exist, was real. At least it was Julian own deduction. The curious because they were all apparently scrambling to find him for whatever reasons. Reasons that Julian was not too sure about, his mother not providing enough details about the matter.

At least he thought he knew what these phenomena were about, the black and white clouds should be for his demon and angel halfs respectively. The white rain representing his holy power and the lightning his demonic power as well his power of destruction.

'Oh shit!' Julian exclaimed in his head.

If the red and black lightning was really made out of the power of destruction, then the bael clan had it coming for them. It was even possible that Sirzech would be ticked of because of it. In fact, it was highly probable that if he saw the scene with his own two eyes, the white and black clouds with the power of the bael clan, he would be forced to remember some memories.

Well, not that Julian cared if Sirzech was made aware of his existence, in fact, it was even better if he was. He had selected Sirzech not only because he was an extremelly powerful devil, but because he was easy going and a family man, he was also aligned with himself in term of moral.

He suddenly had a strange thought, if he counted his future adoptive parents and grayfia each as a true parent, which he did because he was not one to care about blood. He would have in total four moms and two dads, pretty fucked up if you ask him.

Well, this was another train of thoughts to ponder on for his future self. Because right now, his present mom was looking at him with an accusary gaze.

'Hey! I didn't wish for this sort of entrance okay, it wasn't in the terms of the contract! I don't even have the slightest idea what this orange and pink ring is!' he explained himself in his head as if she could actually hear him.

As he tried to plead his case with his eyes, she seemingly didn't bought his act and pinched the other cheek than the one she was caressing earlier.

Surprised by the unexpected attack, a strange sound that wasn't supposed to ever be uttered by him of all people leaved his mouth.

But apparently, his new mother loved it, producing a scene only possible in an anime world.

With their right cheeks rubbing together, yet once again shameful sounds were produced from himself. But he couldn't help it okay! Her cheek was so smooth and felt so soft and cold... Like soft ice.

The words that she said to him after that. He,- he wouldn't ever forget them.

He hadn't had the chance to see anything earlier with his rather low mobility, but now he saw them passing rapidly above them, with their dark chicken wings. For like, seriously, what other than that would you think about when seeing their wings for the first time.

Oh damn, he so dumb he just insulted himself. He blame being a baby.

All in all, whether the fallens's energy sensing wasn't working, or his mother concealment magic was pretty effective.

He was wrenched out of his thought by his mother's face scrunching in a grimace trying to stop her tears from flowing.

Coming to realise the reason for her state, he soon found himself with the same expression as her.

He didn't want to be separated from her, it felt good to be held in her arms, to feel the warmth she was subconsciously emiting to keep him comfortable, to hear her speak about her experiences and thoughts. It felt right. He felt right.

He didn't want to see her cry, not because of him and his botched up wish.

So, he tried to free his arms from his blanket to do something more substancial than blabbering. Unfortunately finding his arms either lacking strenght or the blanket being made out of steel.

His almost in tears mother luckily came to his rescue and freed his upper body from the now confirmed steel blanket.

Immediatly he clung to his mother dress with his meager strenght and tried to say "I don't want us to be pulled apart, fuck my wish!" But it left in gibberish instead, but somehow, her mother was able to get the gist of it.

But it just apparently made it worse, for she burst into tears hard. A magnificient and sureal sight only made more so by her shining, golden tears, she swiftly retrieved her first one on her finger, which was the only normal one. As mean as it sounded, Julian had to admit that seeing the cold, otherworldly beauty in front of him crying those yellow, cristalin tears in a scrunched up face of genuine pain and sadness with the night sky and the moon as the background was the most beautiful and mistifying scene he ever saw. He would even put it above meeting Kass for the first time in the middle of the sea of stars and galaxies.

He empressed himself to capture the moment forever in his heart before starting to cry with his mother.

Absently listening as the woman who is his first and currently most cherished person in his new life explained why she couldn't, and wouldn't bring him with her. Julian was forced to reluctantly agree with her points. He was far from even being ready to face the world of canon DxD, and he was even less ready for this stronger world. Even if he asked for Sirzech help, something he was sure he would grant him if it came to it. But, even if Sirzech was strong, but he doubted that him and even the entirety of the devil faction would be nearly, enough to go against the world.

But agreeing still didn't took away any of his pain.

He was even sadder when she then kissed him with on the forehead with her warm and soft lips and wrote something in the same place with the first tear she had kept on her index finger.

She said that it was her parting gift, and insinuated that his life would be one of struggle. Why? He wasn't sure, if he didn't want to be found by the supernatural world, then he wouldn't be found. This was because of his innate energy control that was supposed to be able to completely conceal his magical signature. Now, if he hadn't accidentally fucked up his wish and it would indeed work as intended still remain to be seen.

Then, she put him back in his blanket and placed him into the basket she just summoned. Next, she wrote what would be his name for his new life in this world, surprisingly his first name was the same one as his last life.

As for his last name... Håberjorgen... it rolled of the tongue well. He liked it, but more importantly, it was a nord name.

If he wasn't sure before, now he was convinced of it. His adoptive mother was Freyja, the all mother, a character that wasn't present in canon for some reason.

Seeing her turning her back to him and leaving with unsure steps, clear golden drops trailing on the earth she just thread on, he stopped crying and just watch on passively as she suddenly vanished.

He WOULD go find her one day to make up for their lost time together.

And nothing this world had to offer, populated or not by absolute monsters, would stop him from achieving it.

Soon completely calmed down, he cheered himself up a bit. Wasn't it what he had longed for since conquering his previous world? Meaningfull relationship and interactions, and what happiness was worth without sadness? Life without struggle? Or triumph without defeat?

At least right now, he felt the most alive than he ever was.

It was when he was having these thoughts that the frontdoor of his future home opened itself.
