2- Limited wishes? Fuck that!

Returning from his trip to the past, Julian was amazed at the no doubt unique experience he just well, experienced.

It was like he could feel each sentations and relive each situations he was ever in during his life in the span of a moment.

Still relishing in the feeling, he was brought of his toughts by a crystalline, and a bit impressed sounding voice. "Well, your life certainly was not ordinary, in the contrary. Few people could boast to have conquered a planet single handedly with ordinary, mortal personal strenght, at least in this multiverse. And even less in the short lapse of time you did. For that, you deserve to be proud." The goddess conceded easily.

Julian picked up the odd terms in her speach, what does "at least in this multiverse" even meant? Of course he was familiar with the term, but multiple multiverses existing was kind of contradictory. At least for his limited perspective. Julian acknowledged.

"So? What's the verdict?" He asked with no nervousness in his voice, confident in his life choices and not really caring about the results.

The divine of death seemed to ponder for a moment before answering. "In your short life, you directly caused the death of 259 murderers and criminals , which does not grant you much bad Karma."

Julian was surprised by the faint aura of red and black forming around him, something telling him that it was the physical manifestation of his karma, and with it came a sensation of wrongness and cold. He would say this feeling would be the perfect representation of "feeling your sins crawling on your back". Even so, he soon refocused on the previous words of his judge and jury, and he found himself a bit relieved that his decimating of the terrorist organization was not that punitive. It seemed liked karma didn't think much of the murder of crazy cultists. But the next words uttered by Lady death made his bored and uncaring look crack, with him flinching at them.

"Because of your lending of deadly technologies and thus upsetting the balance of the world, you engendered a war. Indirectly killing 9 452 073 innocents, causing indirectly an extremely negative impact on 19 482 107 family members and causing a negative impact on 1 342 678 267 lives across the world because of the war. Granting you an overwhelmly high ammount of bad karma despite being indirect acts due to the number of people affected."

Immediatly, the bad karma around Julian massively thickened, going from a faint aura to a thick miasma reaching as far as 1 meter from himself. Needless to say that Julian was not really feeling good right now, his throat was bit dry and he felt his heart clench. He knew the war was something horrible and affected many people, but he didn't know that the numbers were so freaking high, the new world government had lied about the ammount of casualties that were almost the double of the death count of jews In WW2. But soon enough he calmed himself, he had already made peace with himself for the death that resulted because of him, the actual numbers just surprised him. He even regained his previous face of indifference. For the stunningly beautiful woman on the throne hadn't yet spoken of his good deeds.

The woman in question was smilling slightly at his turmoil, seemingly enjoying not his crisis but his confidence in his past choices.

"Now for your good karma. First thing first, for directly uniting all of humanity in one nation and securing its future reign with a fist of steel and a wise and well-meaning overseer. You prevented any future militaristic conflict from ocurring between people of the same planet, and drastically reduced racial stigma for the future. For that, you are granted a massive amount of good karma, offsetting more than half of your bad karma."

Julian allowed a small satisfied smile to appear on his dull face at the sight of the golden and green aura being released from inside his body erasing more than half of the foul miasma. Not having any particular thoughts about the previous judgment of the goddess. He listened attentively to her next words, interested in how the karma was interpreting his actions on his previous world and the people.

"Additionally, with your genius and ingeniosity, you made an incredibly clear path for humanity to follow. A path through the stars, you gave them the necessary tools to progress forward with your gift of technology. You created a legend and an incredible legacy that would never be forgotten by the human race, you will be remembered not for the bad you did, but for the good, it being significantly greater than your sins. For that you are granted even more good karma than the previous time."

And like that the aura of sins around him vanished to be replaced by a relatively thin mist of the green and gold one. The feeling this one gave was warm and comfortable, like when you were tucked in your bed and sheets in the morning of your birthday. But kami-sama was not finished yet.

"And Finally, for directly solving all of the most pressing and serious matters plaguing humanity and earth with the risk of destruction, you directly saved humanity of a certain doom. For if they were to be left alone any longer, they would become irreversible and wouldn't be solved without drastic measure endangering 7 persons out of 9." She took a pause to look deeply at the unique mortal before her.

The tension and pression in the atmosphere growing, she finally concluded her judgment. "Congratulation, Julian, for because of your actions, you have indirectly saved 6 241 789 530 people. In addition of your deed of directly saving humanity, you are granted a never before seen in your universe amount of good karma."

At these words, the aura around him literally exploded, stopping at a whopping ten meters of diameter. Julian was feeling good, almost smug. He didn't knew if it was because of his conscience telling that he was right in his way or because of the warm blanket like aura envelopping him.

"Your judgment come to an end here, with the amount of good karma you have, you have the right to retain your memory for your next life. You also have enough of it for it to be exchanged for limited wishes. Do you desire to do as such?"

At her words, Julian pondered over his options. Just to realize that he had no other options than what she informed him of.

A little sheepish, but still with a blank face, he asked. "Is that all that I can do with my karma? And what do you mean by "limited"? You also seem to know my name, could I know of yours?" She seemed like a pretty chill gal, plus she was a literal goddess, his former status as humanity's leader wasn't even worth a grain of sand in front of her. So there would be no problem in this aspect like in his previous life to have a relationship that would be genuine.

The said goddess of death just quirked an eyebrow in amusement. "Other options? with a wish, you could decide of everything in your next life, your fate, your talent and even the world you wanted to be born in, what other options could there be? As for the limitations, you could not for example wish for infinite wishes or more good karma, or being made a god of a multiverse or an extremely powerfull being from the get go in your next life. You can only wish for thing affecting your next life in the form of one simple, straight wish. If the wish you make is not possible to exist in the world you wanted to go to, it then wouldn't be a valid request, did I made clear what the "limited" was for?."

Meanwhile, Julian just wanted to facepalm. Of course, what could you have out there that would possibly be better than wishes? Literally nothing really. It seemed he was becoming slack because of how comfortable he was feeling right now. But more importantly, when he heard that you could choose the world you wanted to live your next life in. His breath hitched in his throat. 'That's it' he thought, it was what he was waiting for.

It was then that his bored look melted into a small smile. A spark of life and expectation burned away his dull eyes and his once sagging shoulders and bent posture straightened as he was rid of the burden of a boring life.

Watching him go through such a change of attitude got a slight empathic look from the goddess, she could understand his plaight as being a god as powerfull as her could become incredibly dull and boring. Even if she thought that he was far to actually having explored all that he could have done of interest in his life. But she still got where he was coming from, him being from a world where personal improvement was limited to wealth and status. Something he had both achieved the peak of.

Smiling in finding herself having something in common with a mortal for a long time in a while, she answered to his last inquiry. "As for my name, I am known by many name, Hades, Anubis, Osiris, Yama, Ereshkigal, Hel, Izanami, Pluto, Lady Death and many, many others. They all are just names given to me through the ages by humans, and that's not even taking into account the name given to me by all the other races. Normally, I wouldn't give my true name to mortals because of it holding too much power to be in their hands but I'll make an exception for you. Because of your motive being pure and for the simple fact that I find you pleasant to converse with. So, listen well, because I'll only say it once for diverse reasons." She paused. For what reasons? Julian didn't know, his guess was theatrics.

Then she said it. "My name is Kassmorra, and I allow you to call me Kass." For Julian it seemed the name was being whispered and shouted at the same time. The name branding itself onto his mind like it was not daring to ever forget it. Just its uttering sending a silent shudder accross his spine and the world around him.

Beings like Kass were scary Julian decided right there and then. But he just shrugged it of in the end, he had to focus on the future right now. On how to use his wishes, but before that, he still had to get them.

"I want to convert my karma to wishes... please." He rectified himself after realizing that it was sounding like an order and being afraid to offend the goddess, especially after he just regained a bit expectation toward life. It would be a shame if he was to be erased right there and then.

Kassmorra just released a small chuckle that made Julian think of tinkling bells and carillons. "How could I not honor such a polite request."

despite Kass seemingly not even doing anything, the aura around him was sucked toward his right hand, precisely toward his index finger, condensing around one fourth of his karma in a white ring with a glowing rainbow gem the size of water drop atop it.

Sincerely, Julian was far from being accustomed to all the magical things happening since recently in his life. So he could just gawk at the most beautiful and magnificient ring he ever led his eyes on.

Soon enough though Julian had to stop gawking because of the phenomenon happening three more time on the rest of his fingers, only leaving his thumb feeling naked and alone.

"Pretty aren't they? They are something unique that nobody but one person can reproduce, filled with a sliver of the pure power of Existence with a function allowing the user to dirige it in a limited manner." The eyes of the goddess of death gazing far away for a moment but soon she shook her head and put her eyes on Julian instead.

"Now this is it, make your wishes, should they be judged appropriate they will be granted."

Now, Julian was thinking hard, reviewing all the information he got from Kass to make the most out of his limited wishes. With his eyes closed, his arms akimbo and the four rings containing the power regulating all things that exist resting on his fingers. Julian was seriously looking like a pimp.

Analizing and deducting were something he was extremelly well versed in and soon he came to find a loophole. He was extremelly doubtful if it was really that simple, but if Kass had provided him with all the meaningfull informations concerning the limitations, he couldn't see a reason why it wouldn't work.

So, with a grin he removed one the ring from his fingers and stated his first wish. "My first wish is to remove the restrictions on the other three wishes."

There was only silence for a couple seconds, finally ending in a shrug from the sole feminine being in this place. "You found the loophole, huh? You look pretty proud of it, so sorry to pop out your bubble, but it was made on purpose to be fairer to the people of this multiverse. I mean, didn't you find ridiculous having to save billions of people plus humanity for four pitiful limited wishes? While any random person killed by a truck sometime get not only more wishes than you but also unrestricted ones when they did nothing to earn it? What you call ROBs are inferior gods messing with the reincarnation system of other multiverses because of spite, foolishness and sometime suicidal thoughts. Those guys don't normally survive long. As for the reincarnators they are just extremelly lucky I guess." Finishing her rant she looked toward Julian half expecting him to have drop out of her speech but pleasantly found him watching her with a pondering expression.

Meanwhile Julian was perplexed why in all of her fake names she kept speaking about the profound workings of the multiverses or whatever the existence of this world was called. Despite his confusion, he still was surprised and interested in the fact that ROBs were something akin to illegal immigrants and terrorists and that Truck-kun did indeed exist.

He was pretty interested in all of that meta knowledge but it had absolutely no relation to him and he wanted to actually get on with his wishes.

Kassmorra as if she read his thoughts just nodded at something. "Fine, your wish is granted."

The gem on the ring that was still resting in Julian's left hand lit up in a rainbow light, discomposed itself in countless tiny threads in the same color as the gem and snaked their way toward the other rings. Splitting themself evenly in three for each gems and entered them, resulting in them becoming almost translucent and a little bigger.

"You can now formulate your other wishes without restrictions, choose well J~u~l~i~a~n." The literal femme fatal said drawling and pronunciating each syllables of the name of the sole other person in this place.

Julian just had his heart skip a couple times at the unexpected psychology attack but had already given up long ago to try and understand the thought of the goddess.

So he just got down to business. "My second wish is concerning the world I want to be born in, I want be born in the world of highschool DxD, but not a normal one. Firstly, I want to be born in an iteration of it where the power system is more logical and systematic, the one in the canon was all over the place.

"Secondly, I want an overall stronger world, with stronger people, as for how much stronger? Be my guest. Why a stronger world? No particular reasons other than wanting a challenge and not steamrolling across everyone after a couple of years, I still have two wishes left after all.

"Thirdly, I want every factions to be enhanced with more powerhouses and a higher ceiling of power for the characters present in the shows, so that they stay relevant to the plot.

"Fourtly and maybe the biggest change, I want the power of concept to be present in the world at the extremelly high level of power. For exemple, magic users attaining a certain proficiency could have the opportunity to progress their magic further. And PLEASE make Ophis deserving of a being representing infinity. Being only equal to great red, a being embodying dreams is one of the most shamefull thing I ever saw. Just make her a little sister more powerfull than her who embody the void with a touch of existence or somethin to not change the plot.

"Which bring to the light my fifth condition, I don't want the plot to be changed. Yeah I know it's pretty impossible with all the changes I made, but I'm sure there is way, something akin to plot armor maybe?

"For my last point, I want everyone from the canon to retain their personality, quirks, apparence and past. I wouldn't be in the work I've known and loved if I don't recognise anybody right?

"Oh, and make all the points above only applicable for earth, I don't care about transformers wannabe wanting to start a genocide war on earth, needless to say that I don't care about the plot of True. Regalzeva could get raped by an empowered great red for all I care."

Julian then took a deep breath of the fresh nothingness around him from the exertion of shooting every possible details he want to have in his new world.

Meanwhile a certain goddess was staring at him with her mouth opening and closing, as if to say something but finally just shook her head and smirked. "Pretty specific, and I don't think this multiverse contain this particular iteration of the world you mentioned, but transferring you to another one is a simple matter for me so don't worry."

Julian sorted his thoughts before making the wish that'll make him special in the bullshit world that he'll be going in. "Okay then, I want my third wish to be about my birth and its circumstances. I want to be born an Impossibility, something that the very world is opposed to see its creation, and not just because it's cool I swear.

"Now I will specify the circumstances of my birth. I want to be the child of the most powerful devil possible, preferably Sirzech for the power of destruction of the Bael clan, and of course before he met Grayfia. With the setting that he had had a secret adventure during the great war with a seraph who fell as a result. My future mother would then die as a result of stubbornly trying to keep me even while I was rapidly killing her by just existing inside of her body. An act that was coincidentally seen by the god of the bible and thus in a bout of compassion allowed her to die as an angel.

"Her death would then allow me to truly begin my gestation, something like nephilims needing the life essence of the mother to even begin their creation. Of course my death would not be far if the situation didn't come to change with my mother dead. So, a powerful goddess of fertility and birth would stumble across the poor angel who failed to even bring her child to term. She would then decide to make a favor to the dead angel, from mother to mother, and bring me to life in her place. Then, she would carry me for hundreds of years, for it was what it took to finally make me see the light of the day. Afterward, she would put me at the footstep of a door of a willing human family because she couldn't possibly take care of myself with the rest of her faction watching her each and every steps. A family that happen to also be Issei's parents neighbors, because why not.

"I want be born the same year as himself so that I'll be 17 when the plot begin.

Now for the interesting part of my wish concerning my birth. I want my angel and devil genes to perfectly fuse together, not just resulting in a sum of their parts, but in a qualitative change resulting of their fusion. Same thing for the holy power of the angels and the demonic power of the devils"

Like listing a grocery list, he stated each advantages that he wanted to have in his new life. "I want the maximum amount of talent that can be achieved by being a nephilim, whatever my new world think is the peak of talent for a race that shouldn't be possible and is a unique existence to be. I also want my bloodline to have infinite room for growth. Not restricted by the shackles of the world due to me representing the concept of impossibility."

Taping his lips while thinking if he got everything right, he added one last thing. "I also want to have an innate control of my energy, it wouldn't do if every factions immediatly spot my never before seen fusion of demonic power and holy power. That's all for my third wish."

Kass was at the same time impressed and nonplussed by his wish, he could have chosen to be much stronger right from the start than his current choices of power. Well there was no point bitching about since it didn't change anything in the end because of his infinite potential.

"This wish shall be granted too. Now, what shall be your last wish?" She asked a little curious, his wishes were uncommun to say the least. With them not making his future life as easy and pleasurable as possible, like most other possesor of great karma would do in his place.

What would be his last wish? It was indeed the most pressing question for Julian right now. He could add even more power or abilities to himself. But it would be pretty meaningless all in all. So then what should he wish for? An utility power? perhaps, or should he just go with something simple? A look of realisation came across his face. It was simple, but essential for each reincarnator.

"I want my last and fourth wish to be knowledge, I want it to be that I know each changes and persons that weren't there in canon as if I read about them in the work I previously read about DxD. Yeah, I know it's pretty short compared to the previous ones but it's still important."

"I also want to ask of you a personal favor. I was needlessly cruel with my mother given the fact that I could have easily saved her. So I would like for her to keep her memories in her next life as my conscience and the possible life I could have got with her as my mother would never leave my mind if I do nothing for her. Is it possible?" Julian asked, a little apprehensive as asking for a favor from a god was pretty presumptuous in his opinion.

Staring a him for a couple of seconds. Kass smiled a little and answered nonchalantly. "You are the most interesting mortal I met in a while Julian. So sure, why not? But you know the saying, a favor for a favor. You owe me one."

Relieved, he offered a small smile to the goddess, he was afraid of being rejected. But it seemed his worries were useless. "Of course." he had almost added an "anything for you" right there, but he felt that he was in no position to flirt of his own initiative with Kass, for now.

Julian just now realized that he was done with all of his wishes. Clueless on how to proceed, he couldn't help but say out loud: "Now what?"

"Now, time for your three wishes to actually be granted. I truly hope for you to find what you seek so dearly in your next life. Oh, and if you ever happen to encounter some "outside interference" that cause you troubles, you just have to say my name while imagining myself in your mind. I'm persuaded that we'll see each other again one day. Bye~bye Julian." With a light wave of her right hand and the most genuine expression present on her face since Julian met her, a grin, she said her goodbyes.

With her words, Julian could see his three remaining wish granting rings tremble before exploding and painting his whole world white, then blue.

Omega thicc chapter, probably the first and last of its kind, I just didn't knew when to cut the chapter. Cutting it between the wishes feeling wrong.
