9 Chapter 9

Both of them were shocked by my outburst. "Monoma-shonen what is the matter?" "I just figured out how to use <One for All> without hurting myself." I replied. "Oh! very good young Monoma. So, what is the conclusion and the resulting solution you have found?"

I found his questions a little weird, "You mean to say, there is more than one way to use it." He simply gives a nod and a wise smile.

"What I was doing wrong was that I treated <One for All> like a copied quirk, so I used it at its raw form, always trying to use it by activating and deactivating it. THAT was the mistake I made. You told me to use it, and I quote, 'my secondary quirk'. So that was when I realized it. It is MY quirk, not a copied quirk or a borrowed quirk. One the first day itself I could feel it like a huge ball."

Saying so I immediately closed mg eyes to try it, I finally figured it out! Not to switch it off and not to use it at full power...yet.

I concentrated and easily felt the big ball, grabbing it without a moments hesitation. I wrapped my arms around it and squeezed, shrinking the ball a bit. But it was still massive almost twice my size and my height and I felt like I could do more. So I did it little more, the ball shrank a bit again. But I knew that was the limit for now, cause I felt my body tighten.

I opened my eyes to drastic change in myself. My skin looked nicely and even tanned, my hair was glowing red, steam or whatever it was; cause I dint feel heat, rising from my skin. But the biggest thing was the angry red lightning arching of my body, sparking and pulsing.

I flexed my body, trying to feel the energy coursing through me. It felt like a storm was trapped inside of me. I inhaled deeply and took a crouching position ready to jump, my arms spread wide behind me for balance and support.

I tightened my legs, digging into the loose sand and released... There was a burst of sand flying off in all directions, I tilted my body to rotate myself and spin. I spun so fast, as I started descending I saw the ground approaching fast.

I extended my right leg and brought it down with full force. "HEAVENLY FOOT OF PAIN!" I yelled just to look cool doin' it. My foot made contact.

*BOOM*

A small crater was formed and I inspected myself. Phew, no more bones or charred-like skin. Atleast for some time anyways. The lightning still arching of my body. I let go off the ball a little and mentally calculated how much power I had used and how much I could use without straining myself.

I turned with an All Might like smile, hands on my hips and puffed my chest, making a superhero pose. "How is that sensei?" I asked him. He turned into his super form striking the same pose, "Excellent Monoma-shonen! Beyond my expectations! Hahahaha!"

He turned back to his skeleton form as I switched it off for now. I then had a thought, "Sensei, I was using 20% of the power and used 80% of my power, do you think I can <one for all> constantly? even while I'm asleep?"

"You can, but I would advice against it as it requires energy and stamina to do so, it will defeat the purpose of sleeping and rest. And using it while you sleep, you may make a mistake and increase the output more than you can handle, unconsciously.

But it will be good practice to do so. So here is what you will do, you will use 5% at all times from waking up in the morning till night. Use 15% and try to maintain it for one hour, give a rest for two hours and try again. Do this 4 times a day. And lastly try to use 20% during the exam."

Izuku PoV...

Wow! That was so awesome! I feel like I'm seeing the next All Might. I know he made awesome music but I always thought I was just like all the celebrities, being stuck up. But he was nothing like that. He even gave me promise and an opportunity of the lifetime.

Nobody has given me a better gift. When the doctor told me, I was quirkless my heart broke. I felt dead inside, all my dream and aspirations crushed like a piece of paper and thrown in the trash.

But when Monoma-san told me- promised to take me as a sidekick, I couldn't be happier. Atleast this way I can realise my dream.

I clenched my fists and promised myself. I can't- no won't let Monoma-san and All Might down. I'll do my best. But that is not enough. No...I won't do my best, I will BE the best. The best sidekick.
