Chapter 17: Inviting her to date
"Okay class, please open your books," Mafuyu announced in her class.
'What the hell I am doing here…' Seiya who was dozing at the end of the row frowned since he didn't know why he was even attending school.
He could literally pass university exams with his skills only so he didn't get why talented people like him couldn't just jump classes like students could do in other countries. In Japan, you have to through the whole process of the schooling system without any leeway to show talent and skip grades.
His only reason for attending high school is to build his career and his connections. I mean he was in the anime world and high school in that, where one could find a good opportunity to find people who were just fictional in his previous life.
However, still, the subjects are damn boring! Not to mention his teacher, Mafuyu Kirisu. Although she is a good and responsible teacher not to forget a top-tier waifu material, her subject is history and she has no sense of humor whatsoever.
From the corner of his eye, he could see Utaha, his girlfriend also dozing off. Utaha had a good reputation with good grades so she could get away from sleeping in class but he was still a new student with no achievement to back his action.
Plus, he only took two hours of sleep. Although his Mental Resistance was doing a good job of keeping him awake, Miss. Mafuyu's lecture was testing his sanity at the maximum level. He wondered if he could level up his Mental Resistance with Mafuyu's lectures only.
And so, without his knowledge, his eyelids started to slip down until he fell into complete slumber on his desk.
"Oi, Seiya, wake up…"
Seiya felt someone shaking him up and saying something, "Just a little mommy…."
Seiya was completely unaware of his surrounding but he could hear the chuckles of his classmates.
It was not until someone hit his head with something heavy.
"Aiii!" Seiya groaned in pain and slowly opened his eyes and found a lady with pink hair standing with a book with an expression that could eat another human alive. "Hey beautiful lady, don't need to be violent. I already have a girlfriend so I am not available for dating…. Oh… it's Kirisu-sensei."
Seiya was muttering something when he realized that the beautiful lady was his teacher who seemed pissed while his classmates were shivering with snickers and light laughs. Utaha and Shiro were two on them. He can't believe that Utaha betrayed him in class. She should also be sleeping!
"Silence!" Mafuyu said loudly and then the noise stopped. She then turned towards Seiya and spoke, "Kanie-kun, it is inappropriate to sleep in class early in this semester. You might learn something new."
"Sensei, it is history you are talking about. There is nothing new to learn about it."
The whole class erupted in small snickers that provoked more and more tick marks on Mafuyu's head.
"Then Kanie-kun, please state the birth date of Roman Emperor Nero Claudius."
"Heh, simple. He was born on 15 December, 37AD." Seiya smirked. He was sure of his answer but then he saw Utaha's smirk and Mafuyu's grim expression and realized that something was wrong.
"Half-correct. Nero was actually a girl. Please pay attention in class next time."
"ZA FU*K?!"
Lunchtime
"There, there. I think the work must have impaled your brain cells in a wrong way." Utaha patted Seiya's head and put a sushi ball in her mouth. It was a big bento that Seiya prepared for her new girlfriend Utaha and mom-friend Shiro. "Seiya-kun, your cooking skills have improved. You will be a good husband in the future."
"A-ha right… Seiya, you don't need to frown for answering one wrong question. Besides, Nero's gender was just found out in recent times." Shiro said as he wanted to cheer his friend but he was being in a little awkward situation, sitting beside a beautiful girl. He couldn't believe that Seiya made a girlfriend in just one day.
"Shiro, my friend, there is a thing called pride. I thought I have a good gasp in every subject but here I am, failed to answer one simple question." Seiya said and sighed. He was a narcissist who likes to brag about himself. If he fails in anything, it was his pride that shatters. If he didn't show his skills in class then it wouldn't be long for him to become a laughing stock in front of everyone.
"By the way Shiro, Utaha, I am hitting library after the classes. Are you guys interested? I will call the cab." Seiya said. Since he could cash his [Exercise] ability to level up his academics, he wants to improve all his skills so that he didn't have to worry about exams in later future.
"Ehh, library?" Shiro was confused since Seiya didn't seem like a nerd who will go to the library. He thought that Seiya was just an above-average person who is good at studies. "Sorry, Seiya but I have to pick my sister after school. Maybe once the schedule of the school is fixed." Shiro said and then got up from his seat, "I will go and buy some drinks."
"Hmm, I am interested in your real intention," Utaha smirked and took another bite. She just couldn't stop eating the lunch Seiya prepared.
'Sharp.' Seiya smiled as he knew that Utaha must have detected his real intention but he didn't say anything and continued to watch his cute girlfriend happily eating the lunch he made. Early in the morning, he upgraded his cooking to advance so that he could share his bento with Utaha and Seiya.
"My dear girlfriend, I know you liked the lunch I prepared but don't you think it is rude to wipe away your boyfriend's portion too," Seiya said as he saw that even his portion of bento disappeared. Although he was not hungry much, he wanted to tease his girlfriend.
"Ara, how klutzy of me. Worry not boyfriend-san, it is going to a beautiful place." Utaha bushed and lifted her 88cm bust, "You will not be disappointed."
"Heh," Seiya smirked and didn't say anything. He was just happy to be in her company and her casual antics.

"Boyfriend-san, I think I might fall in love with you," Utaha said with her eyes wide open as she was rewriting the volume of her novel on a library computer chamber.
Seiya didn't say anything and only smiled. He was also surrounded by many books.
The reason was his new skill.

He first acquired Teaching skills at a basic level when he was teaching Utaha about improving the vocabulary but then he used [Exercise] to improve his skill and then upgraded it to an advanced level.
It was the reason he wanted to come library and acquire some skills and upgrade them as much as he can.
He was even thinking about inviting Eriri but he was unsure if she would come. Besides most students only start their studies before mock exams.
In the end, he taught Utaha a little bit about kanji and other simple words and she started editing her novel that she was going to submit today.
"Well, it can't be helped since your boyfriend is just so multitalented." Seiya flipped his hair and smirked to show his coolness but Utaha was only focused on writing her novel.
"I want a sip," Utaha commanded. Seiya nodded and put the straw of juice to her lips. Thanks to the private chamber, they can read books and eat snacks without disturbing everyone. "Done. Pleases read my novel and give me your feedback. I want an honest review so that I can improve it a bit more."
"Nope."
Utaha looked at Seiya with confusion and raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean by that?"
"As I said I will only read once it is officially published. I don't want you to change your work just because someone shares a different opinion."
"Seiya-kun, then what's the point of helping me before? What's the difference?"
"I only gave your advice and corrected some vocabulary problems. If I invest my interest more then it will not be your work."
Utaha's head turned down when she heard that. Does that mean Seiya didn't have any interest in her novel? What if she didn't meet Seiya's expectations?
She then felt a warm but strong hand on her head and saw Seiya patting her with a warm smile. "Utaha, it is because I respect your work that I want to read the book I bought with money. Don't wait to be happy after getting the result of your work but enjoy the process of your work and always be happy. I can assist but not a shoulder to lift your career.
Well, in short, don't fret dear. You just have to believe in your efforts."
Utaha's mouth was wide opened for a couple of seconds before her lips curved a smile. "I didn't expect such wise words from a narci- my boyfriend's mouth. I wish I recorded that."
"Too bad because I am not gonna say this again," Seiya said and flipped another page of his English book. He was sitting crossed legs on a mat.
"By the way, I got a call from Fujikawa Shoten."
"Really?"
"Yeah," Seiya then told the whole story to Utaha who laughed when she found out that the editor was his aunt.
"So what do you want from me then?" Utaha grinned.
"Well, I was wondering if you want to tag along."
"Are you inviting me to a date?"
"Oh, so you want to go on date? Yare, yare, it can't be helped then. I guess I could play along with a little."
"Dang it!" Utaha pouted and after compiling her work, she jumped on Seiya's lap and lied down. "Yawn* I am sleepy. Wake me up when you are finished."
"Oi, oi, it's kind of sudden. Are you falling for my charms so soon?" Seiya smiled but he was a little flustered since the girl was so forward. He could feel her soft cheek against his thigh.
"Hmm perhaps." Utaha looked at Seiya's eyes and smiled with soft rosy cheeks. She then turned her head and after nestling her head, she closed her eyes.
She has written and read novels about love but never experienced it. What is love? Honestly, she didn't know the practical meaning behind it but at this moment, she felt a unique comfort in Seiya's presence that she never felt before. Maybe she could spend some more time with this narcissist before she could officially call this feeling love, only time will speak.
Seiya sighed with a smile and flicked her hair behind her ear to take a better view of her beautiful face. At first, he was unsure of how his relationship will escalate with Utaha since there was a purpose when he invited her to be his girl but now, he developed some new feelings that he wants to protect and take care of this girl forever.
Again only time will answer.
