Why does she want me to go to the music room so bad... Does she plan to ambush me with multiple guards!?

No... that can't be the case anymore, if she wanted me dead she would've attacked me in the classroom when we were both alone. What could she possibly want from me...

And why the music room of all places?

Our school has two main buildings, the main building which had just been built and the old building the one beside the main building. The main building was the building that hosts the classrooms, gyms, lockers and offices, while the old building is used for extracurricular activities such as school clubs, storage and events. With that in mind, the old building hosts the music room.

Since the music club had been disbanded the club room has been doing nothing but gathering dust and growing old. I still don't understand why the school doesn't just replace the damn room and make use of the space by replacing it with another club that people would join...

But considering the amount of money the school had spent on the music room I could see on why they wouldn't want to just replace it immediately, the entire room is covered in soundproof foam for god sakes.

Should I go there or not...

Chi doesn't want me to go but why is that? Maybe it's because she's being controlled by Mao! No that just doesn't make sense... if she was being controlled by Mao then Chi would insist on me going to the music room to talk to Mao...

Well that doesn't matter now, does it? I'm already at the doorstep of the music room...

Realistically speaking there's a possibility that I overlooked something. The possibility that is all an elaborate prank to make fun of me... to draw me out of public and to make fun of me. If that's the case I'd end up being laughed at for being a loser or if worst comes to worst I could end up half-dead on the floor beaten senselessly.

Maybe coming here wasn't such a good idea after all...

It was slightly illuminated with all the window's curtains opened enough for the light to seep in. The floorboards of the old building were made of old wood that made a certain sound when you stepped on it with dust in every single corner of the building.

I take a deep breath and scratch the back of my head.

...

...

...

I guess I have no choice by now but to go in, I didn't come all the way here just to walk back. I think to myself as I grab the handle of the music room's door.

Well... here it goes.

I think to myself as I slide open the music room's door.

As soon as I open the door I am greeted with a familiar face waiting gracefully in front of me with only a minuscule gap between us.

"Yo," Mao said as she greeted me.

She knew I was here!

I then took a step back to widen the distance between us since being too close to her made me feel slightly uncomfortable, "Hey Mao..." I reply to her.

How did she know I was in front of the door!? Does she have a tracking device on me? Does she have an all-seeing vision? Is that why she said she's always watching!? I have to ask her how she managed to know I was here!

"Mao, how did you know I was at the doorstep of the music room!?" I ask her with a direct and serious voice.

"I could see your shadow through the fogged glass of the door..." Mao replied with a smirk on her face.

Dammit, I didn't look at the god damn door since I was so fixated on looking at the doorknob!

"Well, what are you waiting for, come in!" Mao said with a slight giggle.

"You're not gonna ambush me are you!?"

Mao then turned around with a certain look on her face...

"Ambush?" Mao replied in confusion and disapproval.

"Aha... never mind..." I quietly said with a soft tone in my voice.

...

...

...

There was an awkward amount of silence of both of us staring at each other in confusion and embarrassment. After a while, Mao ran across the room and grabbed a table in the shape of a circle from the other side of the music room.

The music room was a large octagonal shape with half of the room being a stage with multiple instruments on stands including a drum set located in the centre of the other half of the room. The music room had no windows and only had four ceiling lights shaped as semi-circles.

"Uh-" I try to speak but am swiftly cut off by the voice of Mao.

"Wait here, I'll get us some chairs," Mao said as she ran across the room to get a pair of plastic chairs. She then put a chair down for me and walked around the table to sit down on the opposite side of me, "Sit." She said as she sat down in her chair.

"Yeah sure..." I replied as I sat down on my seat.

"So, do you know why I asked you to come here?"

"Heh, I was guessing that you were planning on assassinating me or luring me here to attack me or bully me."

"I would never do anything like that!" Mao insisted as she stood up from her chair and slammed her hands down on the table, "No, it's nothing like that!"

"Then what did you bring me here for?"

Mao then sat back down on her chair with her arms crossed, "Well seeing on how you thought I was planning to assassinate you you've already confirmed my suspicions."

"Huh?" I replied with a slight angered and annoyed tone.

"Mhm?" Mao said trying to pretend she didn't say anything.

"What suspicions!?"

"Oh ho! I'm glad you asked!" She excitedly replied. Mao then stood up from her chair and walked to the other side of the room where her school backpack was.

"You know you could've just set this up before I got here..." I say with a disappointed and annoyed tone.

"Just wait, just wait, just wait!" Mao said as she began searching through her school bag. Mao then took out a large folded piece of paper and said, "AhhhHAAA!" In excitement.

Oh, another folded piece of paper how exciting...

Mao then marched back to the table with the piece of paper behind her back and sat back down onto her chair, "Behold! A contract!" Mao said as she placed the folded piece of paper on to the table.

"A contract?" I say in confusion.

"Aha, that's right! Now sign it!" She said with a big smile on her face.

"What's the contract for? You don't expect me to sign it for no reason do you!?" I shake my head in disappointment.

"It's a contract, I made it just for you, it's all handwritten," Mao says as she slides the folded piece of paper closer to me.

"What's it about?" I say as I take the piece of paper.

"Jun, why do you sit all by yourself in class away from everyone else during recess and lunch?" Mao then stands up and moves her chair closer to mine.

"Wha-" I try to reply but am once again cut off by the voice of Mao.

"And Jun, why do you insist that there's an organisation that's taking control of your life? Playing with you and controlling your life with strings as if you were a puppet. Why do you believe all of this? And also why did you believe back then that I could manage to shoot a triangular power beam?" Mao says as she sits down on her chair right next to me.

"This is stupid..." I sigh to myself.

"I'll tell you why, it's because you're delusional with society and with yourself, or what other people call it, someone with the eighth-grader syndrome," Mao said as she pointed at me.

"How could I have eighth-grader syndrome when I'm in the eleventh grade?" I said with an annoyed tone in my voice.

"Jun, your childlike behaviour proves my point, it's kinda cute, to be honest," Mao said with a smile, "To be honest, not a lot of people at school like you, they think you're a gross and weird person that they don't want to be around. I'm guessing that's the reason why your only friend is Chi. And considering that no one else is willing to become your friend aside from her, you must have believed that everyone else at the school was under the control of a mysterious organization, or in other words, me. You're a truly unlikeable person Jun."

I then sighed and leaned back in my chair, "So get to the point..."

"The point is, that you don't have to worry anymore, because you'll be fine."

I'll be fine?

"What do you mean?"

"What I'm trying to say is that I know how to cure you, to cure you of your loneliness and to cure you of your delusional ways. I know all about who you are and how to cure you."

"You know how to cure me? You're saying that as if I'm sick!"

"But you are sick, and I'm the only one who knows how to and the only one who is willing to cure you. In other words, I want to help you and this is the only chance you'll ever get."

"If I'm as weird or unlikable as you say I am, why are you willing to cure me like you say you will?"

"Do you truly believe that you're as weird or as unlikable as I say you are?"

"Well of course not!"

"Then why should I believe that you're as weird or as unlikable as I say you are?"

...

...

...

Mao then innocently smiled with her head tilted as she pointed towards the folded piece of paper, "Unfold it and sign it already." She insisted.

I unfolded the contract and began to read it...

Man... it's hard to read her writing since it's all in cursive...

"Why are you waiting to sign it?" Mao said as she patted me on the back and lent me a pen.

I then took the pen and hovered it around the signing area. Should I do this? What's the worst that could happen...

So if I break any of these rules one will suffer from a heart attack? Well, it's obvious by now that she doesn't possess any supernatural abilities so there isn't any problem anymore isn't there.

Actually... I shouldn't be wasting my time here...

I then quickly stood up from the chair and began walking for the music room exit, "There's nothing wrong with me!" I say to Mao as I open the music room's door.

"Wait!" Mao said in concern and she swiftly jumped out of her chair knocking it over running towards me with the contract in hand. She then went underneath my arm and stood in front of me blocking me from exiting the music room, "This could be your only chance to help you." She got the contract and held it in front of my face, "Please, sign this you need to help yourself, I need to help you. Do this... do this for yourself! I don't want to see you lonely anymore!" Mao said with high concern, her voice in a serious tone and her eyes wide open and teary.

She... doesn't want to see me lonely huh?
