4 Sorting

As he sat on a boat with 3 other students, The boat automatically started to head towards a narrow pathway. The narrow pathway was dark from both of the sides, probably Because of the trees. As the distance between them and the pathways lessened a bit, a Majestic Castle began to reveal itself from the edge of the pathway. Blair's heart began to pound rapidly as the feeling of belonging began to overwhelm him.

'This is the place I truly belong'.

After getting out of the boat, the Giant led them through rocks and pebbles towards a huge Oak front door, and then he knocked the door three times with his giant fist. The Oak door opened, and they were greeted with the site of a stern face witch standing at the middle of the doorway. After a few words of exchange with the giant, she turned toward the group of children and asked them to follow her.

As the group neared a giant wooden door, the Scottish witch turned around to face them and fired a quick explanation on houses and school rules. After that, she led them to the great hall through the giant wooden door. Blair was so overwhelmed with the site of the great hall, that he barely registered the song sung by the hat.

"When I call your name, you will put on the hat and sit on the stool to be sorted" he was brought back to reality by Professor McGonagall who was holding a parchment "Abel Treetops" A Black haired boy stumbled toward the stool and sat on it, After a moment of pause the hat roared "Hufflepuff" and the sorting continued. After some time it was Alastor's turn. the hat instantly shouted "Gryffindor" He went to Gryffindor's table with a grin on his face.

"Kingsley Shackelbolt" "Gryffindor", "Andromeda Black" "Slytherin". "Fabian Prewett" "Gryffindor", " Gideon Prewett" "Griffindor" and finally it was his turn "Blair Bradley" as he sat on the stool the hat was placed on his head, "Hmm where should I put you, Talent is not bad, a Cunning mind, thirst for power, Ohh goodness quite an ambition you got there, you will do great in ..... SLYTHERIN"

He took off the hat and walked calmly towards the Slytherin Table, There were quite a few disdainful gazes directed towards him as he sat opposite to a curly haired girl, majority of the disdainful gazes were coming from the Slytherin table. Blair Glanced at the Curly haired girl in front of him and then at the girl beside her, who looked quite similar to Curly haired girl.

'Probably sisters. If I remember correctly here name is Andromeda Black, and judging by the looks her sister is giving me right now I am pretty sure that she hate Muggleborns like me'.

He tried to start a conversation with his housemates but was blatantly ignored and some even called him a Mudblood, at that moment he knew that his life in Hogwarts isn't going to be an easy one. After the sorting ceremony, Dumbledore stood up.

"Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!,Thank you"

As soon as the wacky speech ended, the food was served on the table.

'Atleast the food is great' Blair grumbled to himself as his housemates sneered at him.

After the feast an older student, apparently a prefect led them out of the Great Hall. They were led down a set of stairs. Apparently, the Slytherin common rooms were in the dungeons. The group of Slytherin were led to a stone wall and then the perfect turned to them

"The password of this week is Pure Serpentis, Memorize it and don't let a single non-Slytherin hear it. We haven't had anyone from another house break into our common room in the last seven hundred years and I don't want it to happen on my watch, the password will change every week and it will be posted to the notice board inside"

The wall opened up in front of them and they were led through a narrow passage to a room with greenish lamps and chairs. The ceiling was low and there were windows through which you can see Marine life of the black lake.

"You've been assigned rooms," the prefect said. "Your trunks have already been moved next to your assigned bed"

The prefect gestured and the female prefect led the girls to their rooms

"The girl's dormitories are off-limits to the boys, I don't suppose you care much about it that much right now, but truth me you will, "The prefect said while smirking.

He then led them to boys dormitory through a spiral stairway. There were four different names written on every single door of the dormitory, Probably to help students finding their respective rooms. After searching for a while Blair finally found his name written on a door which was at the corner of the dormitory, The weird part was that there were no other names besides his on the door.

' Probably because of my Muggleborn status, no other pureblood snort will share their room with a Mudblood'

"Sign...At least I can get some privacy, As the saying goes every cloud have a silver lining"
