18 Friend.

May 30, Abandoned Classroom.

"How can you do it so easily, Whereas I have been trying to transfigure it for hours and still can't see a single change in my cup" Blair said frustratingly while staring at the moving tortoise on the table and then at his cup which was placed on the same table.

"This is exactly how I feel when I see you successfully perform a new spell on your 4th or 5th try, Whereas I have to practise that same exact spell for hours, It's a good thing that you are terrible in potions and Transfiguration or I would have stopped believing in God" A soft voice came by his side, There was a hint of humour in Her voice, unlike the first time they meet, At that time there was an only coldness in her voice. Surprisingly there was also a hint of humour in his voice.

At first, when Olivia asked him to teach her some spells to fight, He thought that he would teach her 2 or 3 important spells and then they will be on their own ways, But as he began teaching her, He started to enjoy her company and just like that they become friends, they began to spend every bit of their free time together. They were nearly inseparable.

Like Blair She was also raised in an orphanage, Both of them were obsessed with power, for them the most desirable thing that came after having a family, was power. Even though they were all alone in this wretched world, They wanted to leave a mark in this world, To be remembered by people, Not to be forgotten as some unknown lonely orphan or a nobody.

They both started learning magic together, Both, brilliant in their own fields. Blair had a natural talent in charms and DADA, Whereas Olivia was a Prodigy in Potions and Transfiguration. She could brew potions which were taught in 4th year and could transfigure things that even a fourth-year student will find it difficult to transfigure. Even though Blair sucked at Potions and Transfiguration. His talent in charms and DADA balanced it.

He started learning more advance spells from the leather book, 'Ventungo' became his favourite spell. If casted successfully The victim feels a sudden agonizing sensation in their lower abdomen, feeling as though they had been stabbed. It was like a less painful and dark Cruciatus Curse. It was a perfect spell for a fight where he wants to avoid hurting his opponent. But there were also disadvantages of this spell, the Wizards and witches with high mental resistance (such as one versed in the art of Occlumency) are likely to be able to shrug off the spell, which means it can only be used on weaker witch or wizards. It can also be blocked by medium shielding charm. Repeated exposure to this spell can lead to persistent stomach cramps for approximately 20 to 25 days.

"So tomorrow the exams are starting, Got any tips on charms and DADA" Olivia asked him while transfiguring The tortoise back its original form.

" You will be fine."Blair said nonchalantly while packing his things up as it was already past curfew. If they got caught, it would be troublesome.

"Twinky" Olivia called out for the elf. Blair introduced them on the day she asked him to teach her.

"Is madam wanting something" Twinky popped Out of nowhere looking at her eagerly as always.

"Yes Twinky, Can you please apparate us near the Slytherin common room, as it is already past curfew and I don't want to get caught by the prefects" Olivia requested Twinky.

"Of Course "

The next thing they knew they were in front of the Common room door. After thanking Twicky they said the room password before entering the common room.

" We really need to get a house-elf" Olivia said while walking in the common room.

"Agreed"

The common room was surprisingly empty, They parted ways near the spiral stairways, Blair went to his room before placing his books and wand on the table beside his bed and went to sleep.

20 June, Abandoned Class

"How are your result?" Blair asked Olivia curiously, sitting opposite to her, both eating their lunch.

"Topped Potion and Transfiguration, above average in charms and DADA. How about you?"

Blair gave her a bitter smile before handing her his report card. Olivia looked at it carefully.

"Topped charms and DADA, Did well in history and Astronomy, As for the potio..pttff." Olivia spat out the water she was drinking, Blair could see her shoulders trembling, She was trying to control her laughter.

"Yeah yeah Laugh all you want" Blair gave her a glare before going back to eating. Olivia couldn't hold back her laughter. She roared in laughter.

" Sorry I couldn't take, Who would have thought that a guy who is a prodigy in casting spells, Barely passed his potion and transfiguration practical exams. " Olivia said while she continued to laugh.

"It is already been taken care of, Have you ever of a term Occlumency?" Blair irritatingly asked her while taking out the old leather book and handing it to her. Olivia stopped laughing as she took the book and started flipping through Its pages. Her expression froze, as she continued to read the book. After a minute or 2, she looked at him in astonishment Blair could see excitement hidden in those blue eyes. He smiled at her expression, Her expression was like a child just saw The biggest candy in her life.

" Where did you get this book" She nearly shouted in eagerness.

"Turn to page number 367." Blair didn't answer her question. Olivia frantically began to turn the pages of the book. It didn't take her long to open page number 367.

"Occlumency is the act of magically closing one's mind against Legilimency. It is anci..." She began to read the book, giving her full concentration in it. After reading the book for approximately 10 minutes she looked at him with wide eyes, disbelief flashing all over her face.

"Is it even possible?" She asked" reading other people's mind"

"Not exactly reading people's mind, A Legilimens Can read a person's memories as well as his/her's emotions and Not what they are thinking. I am 90℅ sure that my mind has been invaded 2 times in the previous year." Blair replied to her before flicking his wand towards the leather book.

"Geminio"

An identical copy of the leather book appeared in front of him.

"You can have it, It's an exact copy of the original one, But listen carefully. Don't ever try to cast any type of elemental spell from the book. You won't be able to control it. I once tried casting "Incendia-dia-Verbero", Which is probably the easiest spell in the book. I lost control of it within seconds of casting, Ended up burning the whole classroom with black flames"Blair warned her before taking back the original leather book.

" Now back to occlemency, Aside from the protection against Legilimency, There are other advantages to it. It helps a person to keep his or her's emotions in check, It also helps a person to increase control over his/her's mind, Which will help him to concentrate while casting a spell.

Olivia quietly listened to him, afraid that she will miss something important.

"There are 2 methods mentioned in the book for building an Occlemency shield. First one is a quick one, It requires the help of a Legilimens who will try to invade your mind and you have to try your best to keep him out of your mind and letting a person see your memories is not preferable " Olivia nodded "So we will go with the second one. Even though this is a difficult and slow method, we will choose this one, You can practise it during this summer" With that they finished their lunch before heading towards their dorms to pack up their things.

Train compartment, Hogsmeade.

Blair and Olivia both were looking at the direction of Hogwarts before turning their heads towards each other.

"So any plans on meeting this summer, I know quite a bit of Diagon Alley"

"of course, We can.."
