12 First day of class Pt. 2

After that thrilling class with professor Hooch. We then proceeded to our next class, the Charm Class under professor Rodeo Arman which is situated in the second floor of the castle.
But along the way, I was confronted by four Slytherin kids. The one who gave me the jinx broomstick had pushed me back. His name is Ivan Flynn which I just learned from Silvanus.
"You, what happened to the broom I gave you?" He asked with a temper.
"I left it there." I answered back.
"I saw you didn't used it."
"Yes, I used Silvanus broom and what's wrong with that?"
"How did you know it was jinx."
[AN: He didn't jinx the broom himself. He got help from a senior from Slytherins.]
"Hey!" This time Silvanus intervened, "If you want a piece of my friend, you have to go through me!"
"Hmm… Why do you care? This is my business with the mudblood. Not you! You should scram before I teach you a lesson." He said to Silvanus.
"I'd like to see you try."
The two eyed each other and neither did the two retracted their gazes for a while.
"Come Silvanus. Don't mind him, we still have a lesson to catch." I said and then grabbed him away.
"You shouldn't have stopped me, Al. I could have taught him a lesson."
"I know, but I could have done it myself too. But I don't want to miss a lesson nor would I want a detention in my first day. So, let him be for now."
"Alright, if you say so."
"Come the others were already there."
And we hurried our way to our next classroom.
Professor Rodeo Arman is an average looking man and dressed himself with an elegant clothes with a cape. His prominent feature is his mustache and curly long hair.
"Welcome to Charm class, lads…" He greeted before starting his explanation of the subject.
To make his explanation short.
Charms is the type of spells concerned with giving an object new and unexpected properties, and hence this class mainly consists on learning those sorts of spells. Charms classes are described as notoriously noisy and chaotic, as the lessons are largely practical. [AN: Courtesy to hpwiki.]
He then made a couple of demonstrations before allowing us to perform on our own. This is where Tom and I have taken the attention of our teacher, simply because of our outstanding performance.
I already finished reading the course book [Book of Standard Spell (Grade 1) by Rimmer Roland] which took me a month to finish. And it seems Tom's the same as me and already formed his own understanding of Charms in the introductory level.
But since, I have more power than Tom, I have a slight trouble with my overall performance and if not for professor Dumbledore, it might take me long to manage even a small success.
Because of this, he seems to enjoy his limelight.
Among the many students of his class, very few managed to perform the spell.
It was Tom who achieved the record of first attempt success, whereas, I succeeded in my third attempt.
Silvanus managed to reach success after his fourth try under my guidance. Although, he is a Hufflepuff, he seems to lose his patience rather quickly. Luckily, he is still a hardworking fellow and there's me to guide him.
The class concluded with Tom and I obtained 10 points for Slytherin (we each obtained 5). Even Silvanus received a meager 2 points for being the only one (aside from me and Tom) to perform the spell in less than 10 attempts.
As for those who failed terribly, they have to perform again in our next meeting.
It was afternoon, but I still have something to do – visit the library.
"Hey, Sil."
"Yes, Al."
"I am going to the library. Are you interested?"
"No. I'm not interested in books."
"But we can still talk about magic beast."
"Even still, library is a boring place. Why don't we talk about it in the school's training ground?"
"I can't, I have my plan to visit the library. And besides, the library should've books about certain magical beast specially the most dangerous magical creatures. The only place you will learn more about them is the library."
"Oh right, I could use some books that has records of magical creatures around the world."
"Of course. But seriously? You didn't know?"
"Hehe… but I still think that only in the wild you can learn these kinds of things. Experience is more important than staying indoor."

We reached the Hogwarts library which is located off of a corridor on the first-floor of Hogwarts Castle and contains tens of thousands of books on thousands of shelves. It is overseen by Madam Rita Peregrine and it close at exactly 8:00 pm. [AN: Courtesy of hpwiki.]
It's still around 4:00 PM, so I still have time to carefully decide what book to borrow.
What I need for now is an intermediate book for magical theories, jinx and hexes, and charms.
I only need these three types of books for now. These books are enough to help me avoid unnecessary troubles. The matter earlier in the Flying class is certainly not the only trouble I will be having. There will be more in the future.
After searching for some time, I managed to collect quite a bit of those books.
In my hands now were three thick books namely: [A Compendium of Common Curses and Their Counter-Actions], [ The Book of Charms & Spells], [Magic, how it works]; and 5 smaller books supplements the first three.
The first three books were very thick and I probably won't finish it in a month.
I then went to the tables and saw Silvanus already sitting while reading a picture book with strange creatures on it.
"Hey, what took you so long? I've been waiting here for almost 3 hours." He asked.
"Sorry, I've been looking for appropriate books which is not easy to find." I said as I slam the books on the table, giving a loud 'thud' sound.
"Woah! Are you going to read all that?"
"Yes. But this is not enough."
"Those thick books aren't enough? Hell no. you'll need an entire year to finish all these books."
"Nah, I'll probably need a month."

"Really? Were there other muggles like you and Riddle?"
In one corner, I saw Tom Riddle buried himself in those many books. And I must admit, we have similar mindset at the moment. He also has the same thick books as me but differ only in choice of supplementary books.
He must have learned his lessons too and must have been humiliated by that jinx incident.
"Probably."
"And I thought us, wizards, are special kinds."
"Well, we muggles have to struggle every day you know, especially with money. So, we have to work every day to make ends meet. And it so happens that education plays a vital part of making it successful! So starting from a young age, we were told to take studying seriously because it dictates our future." "Oh wow. It's hard to be a muggle huh? Us, wizards, can do without money."
"Sure. But doesn't mean you don't have to study. And I mean, taking study seriously."
"But I said, it's boring stuffs. If I want to learn, I will go and learn it myself."
"Don't you have a dream?"
"I do? I want to become a Magizoologist like Mr. Newt Scamander!"
"Then, you have to study hard. Do you know, you have to pass N.E.W.T examination and to do that you need to study. You need all these reading materials."
"Aww… Is there no other way?"
"There isn't"
Sometime later, we decided it's time go back to our common room.
I brought my books to the library counter in order to take it out with me.
The library student assistant explained the library's policies, "To take out these books, please provide a log in information and your purpose."
I complied, "Here, is this right?"
"Yes. And I must remind you that you have to return these books every three days."
"I got it."
"Is that's all?"
"Ah, yes. May I ask, how can I access the restricted section?"
"Well, you need a note from a professor and depending on 'what' book you wish to borrow, may require permission from the librarian and the headmaster."
"Oh I got it."
"Also, you're still underage, so no one will give you a pass. Why, are you interested?"
"Ah, I'm just curious."
"Anyway, all the books here, except those placed in restricted section and the limited book section, can be openly borrowed."
"Thank you. I'll sure to come back."
"If you have something in need of help. You can look for me. My name's Miranda Goshawk."

Silvanus and I left the library just as the time it closes.
I held the books in both arms. It's quite heavy, but I still managed it myself. It should be known that the physical strength of a wizard is twice greater than a muggle.
The first day of class is over. I have to prepare for tomorrow class which is Potion class and Transfiguration class.
