2 What would you do?

In life, one will meet many different people and encounter countless things. Some of those will be good and some will be bad, depending on how you view it. I don't know how people will see things that go on around them.

For example, if you were to see a dying person, who was in an incredible amount of pain. What would you do? Would you do something to help ease the pain? Maybe medication or other recreational drugs?

Or would you ignore it? Because, it's not someone you know nor have ever met. Maybe you would allow yourself to see and think about it, maybe pray for them? Would you leave them die in pain?

Or would you help end their pain by, well, killing them. Isn't it the kindest thing you could do? The person is guaranteed to die, so why drag it out by numbing the pain?

It's a difficult question to some and others it's an easy answer. It's very easy to say you will do something, far easier than it is to actually do that said thing.

What would I do?... I don't know... it seems logical to just end it quick and painless. But it also seems very cruel to do that... and medicine or drugs. Well I don't know, it seems kind to numb the pain. But again, it also seems so cruel. Why force someone who knows he is going to die, to carry on? Sure, they would live the last moments without much pain, but could they enjoy those last few moment?

They would either be bed-bound on an IV drip, maybe alone, just thinking about all of their regrets and accomplishments. Maybe they are blaming themselves for something that wasn't their fault. Or they could be on the street or in their home, slowly dying, completely out of it due to drugs. They could even forget that they are soon to be dead....

Or maybe you'd ignore it... sounds heartless right?

But, it's probably the most likely to occur... you see someone who you don't know, and you see they are dying and are in extreme pain. You would like to say that you would help them and do what you can... But would you? Would you really go out of your way to do that for someone you have no prior knowledge of? Most likely, no, you wouldn't.

The world we live in isn't so beautiful that people would help everyone they see.

If you were in that situation, most likely, you'd do nothing more than look at them with a pitiful gaze and lie to yourself, maybe you'd even pray for his or her well being. But the thought of that persons death will only weigh on your mind momentarily. For they hold no relation with you.

Maybe in that momentary panic and realisation that someone is dying, you'll call the emergency services, maybe try to comfort them. But would you do more than that? Most likely not.

——————————————————————————————————————————————

Now I'm not entirely sure what spurred this thought of mine, so there's nothing I can say on that, but I can't help but find it interesting. In this short little text I only gave myself 3 different reactions, so it's not very thought out. It's also very short because I kinda lost my thought processor near the ending, so there's no in-depth descriptions for any of the thoughts.

I'm not sure what I'd do in such a situation, so there isn't much I can say, but it'd be interesting to hear other people thoughts on this. Again, not the best of questions, but I found it interesting.

I would also like to hear other possible processes people may think of.

Thank you for reading. I apologise for any grammatical errors.
