Gravedigger Pt.2

(A/N: Mature warning. I'm not as good as other FF authors at utelizing the mana system in TBATE, such as the conjurer and augmenter, so sorry if the fight is kinda weird, I did my best.)

"It's quite a shame sir, this kid could have caught us even more coins than before."

"I doubt the buyers would be alive 10 minutes after getting their hands on that kid."

"Well, you guys know what to do, but don't underestimate the kid, he seems to be full of surprises," Derim said to his other three men as he augmented his sword. Ryder followed Derim's lead, pulling out his own short sword from a dimension ring, then augmenting the short sword.

I could feel the pressure of their mana. The non-mage wasn't going to be that much of a hassle, but I couldn't count him out either. I didn't know what core stage each of them were, or how large their mana reserves were, so I had to be on edge every second. Especially because of my very small mana pool. 'Every misstep and mishap will cost me, think hard. One of them already used two wind spells, both missed, so he wasted some mana.' I tightened the hold on my daggers, 'I need to wait till they make a move first, they don't know all I can do, nor do I know what they can do. If their hierarchy is based on power, then Derim should be the strongest, and he's a fire augmenter. Plus he has a wind mage by his side that can pair extremely well and enhance his fire element. Fuck!'

As I was analyzing the situation the group of men weren't moving, they had the same idea as me, 'let the enemy attack first.' Until one broke out. "Fuck this, lets crush this twerp quickly," Norden said running forward, starting to chant a spell.

"Damn it Norden," Derim cursed out, following Norden towards me. The others followed his lead, making their way towards me from different angles and directions. Norden coming from my left, Derim coming from the middle, Ryder breaking off and sneaking in from my right, and the non-mage staying slightly behind the rest, but coming down the middle behind Derim.

'Dash.' I said in my head, reminding myself that the activation of 'Dash' cost 5 mana, plus 1 mana every minute. '39 mana.'

I dashed immediately to the right, the four men all surprised by my sudden gain in speed. 'I've got to take out the range first.' I thought, dashing towards the conjurer, evading the wind spells coming my way.

"Ryder!" Derim shouted. Immediately after the shout, an earth-like wall came from the ground, protecting Nordem, and blocking my path.

'Gotta go left.' I thought, altering my direction to go left towards the natural wall of the room instead of the earth wall. I could sense a wind spell getting casted, as well as the fire element. But the fire element felt denser and closer. I leaped off the floor, in the air, and slightly bounced off the room wall, allowing me to bypass the earth wall.

With the raised perception and agility of the sharingan, I could somewhat see before my enemies. 'They switched places.' The fire augmenter Derim was now on the left, right behind the earth wall, while the wind conjurer, Nordem, was in the middle, where Derim previously was.

A bright fire was now enveloping Derim's blade. He dashed towards me, putting power behind his blade as he repeatedly swung at me, almost driving me into a corner as all I could do was dodge. The power difference between our swings was clear, I wasn't willing to try to block, as I wasn't sure I would survive.

His swings were fast, but my Sharingan could keep up with them. Unfortunately he didn't stop swinging for at least one to two minutes, his stamina was crazy.

"Derim!" A shout could be heard, but I was too busy to tell who it came from. But right after his name was called, Derim augmented his blade with more mana, his blade blazing with fury. Derim swung his blade with great power towards the ground, fire now spreading upwards off the ground like a wall. He disappeared right behind the wall, but that wasn't all, I could sense something else coming.

'Wind!' I thought.

A wind spell shot from behind the wall of fire, combining with the fire and pushing it towards me. "Now!" Someone shouted. Earth walls from all four directions started forming.

'A trap.' I thought, doing a 360 scan of my surroundings to find the best escape. Each of the four walls were forming at a different pace, the one behind me was the fastest, while the one in front of me was the slowest. But it was also the one where the spell was coming towards me.

By the time I turned around once again the wall was formed and solid. I jammed the dagger from my left hand into the wall, using it as a stepping stone to cross the wall, but the fire caught the sleeve of my shirt.

As soon as I made it out of the trap and outside the wall, I dashed to the back of the room. 'It hurts.' I thought as I quickly removed my burning black shirt.

"Phoo. Phoo. Phoo," I panted, repeatedly.

The four men made their way once again towards me, this time walking. "Well well, you're quite the quick thinker, it's honestly impressive. But do you think fighting us was really the best way to buy those little elves time to run and escape? I mean come on, they're kids. You may be impressive yourself, but I doubt they're anything like you, boy. To be honest I doubt those little guys even found a way out of this place," Norden ranted.

"He does have a point you know, about both you being impressive and about those kids not getting away," Derim added.

*"SLAM"*

A door slammed open, prompting us to all look towards the direction of the sound.

"Looks like you were right Norden," Ryder said, "They really didn't get away."

'No!'

Two men came out from behind the door, in their grasp were two young children, two elves, two very familiar elves. Their faces were more fearful than I could ever imagine. 'I didn't buy enough time.'

"NO!" I shouted out.

As I got ready to speed towards the elves, a wind spell slammed against me, knocking me against a wall.

"Ah," I groaned, getting up. I looked at the two elves, their heads were facing down.

'Because of the two men coming back 'the number of enemies' rose from 4 to 6.'

'Stat Window' I said in my head, wanting to check what I had left to work with.

'That wind spell took 140 off my health, and my fatigue is at 45 percent.' I thought as I started calculating the mana I had used.

'5 mana for the activation as well as 4 mana for the minutes, all for the Dash skill. As well as 8 mana for the Sharingan, 2 coming from each minute.

Every minute I was losing mana. There was no time to talk. I Immediately dash towards the right side, towards the earth augmenter Ryder.

"He's on you Ryder!" someone shouted, but I paid no attention to it. Ryder stomped his foot on the ground, causing loads of rubble to shoot from the ground up. I dashed closer to the rubble, looking to my left I could see the swing incoming. 'Derim.' I thought, swerving left, dodging the charged blazing swing of fire.

'It worked.' I thought to myself. I had baited him to come from the left to the right side, which means the conjurer is open, with only the non-mage by his side. I couldn't miss this chance.

I dashed at full speed towards the conjurer as he chanted two wind spells at me, I twisted my body and path to the right, dodging the spells. The non-mage now a few feet away, ready to swing.

As the non-mage charged up his muscle and power behind his swing, I did the same. His wing was straight and no doubt powerful, but not a problem for the Sharingan. I lowered my head under the reach of his swing, I caught the sight of his widened eyes, my blade connecting with the lower left side of his torso.

"Argh!" He exclaimed, my cut reaching deep, but not too deep where my dagger would get stuck. 'A clean cut.'

Right after making the cut, the man fell to his knees, and I immediately looked for the conjurer, I had no time to waste.

My eyes made contact with his, an annoyed look standing out as he conjured up another wind spell. I dashed up to him, I could feel Derim and Ryder coming this way but I had no time to look back.

This time I dodged left, the spell passing by me, but I quickly moved right, making me aligned with him. I could tell he was conjuring another spell and was about to release it, but I was already there. He had no more time.

*"SLICE"*

I did the same move I had just performed one the non-mage, except I didn't need to dodge a sword, his torso was defenseless. But I wasn't done, no, not yet.

Right after cutting and getting behind the mage, I jumped and put more power into my swing. My eyes could see it, his nape. I stabbed my dagger in and through his neck.

*"CRACK"*

'That should be enough.' I thought. I looked over at the emergency quest to confirm it.

[Emergency Quest: Kill all the enemies!]

''Two augmenters and three non-mages to go, one already weakened.'

But out of nowhere, Derim snapped. "FUCK THIS! I don't care about the profit anymore," he pointed his sword at the two elves and yelled. "Kill the fucking elves!"

My eyes widened at the words Derim had just let out and the order that went along with those words. I turned around, about to face the elves, and got ready to dash, but it...I was too late. Their daggers were already in hand, up against the slim necks of the two children.

'NO'

'NO!!" I Yelled as I dashed at pull speed. 'FASTER!'

*"SLASH"*

Their once clean, pale necks were now gouged. Blood spewing out, as the two men released their bodies, the elves dropped on the ground.

I was shaking. My body had never shook this much in my entire life. Not in TBATE, nor before that. 'I FAILED! I FAILED! I FAILED!' The words kept ringing through my head as I made my way to the motionless bodies.

The men had left the bodies and made their way to the side of Derim.

"How does it feel, BOY!" Derim asked, but I didn't answer.

I stood there in front of their bodies, hands shaking, jaw dropped, anger about to burst out. But I heard a noise, a hollow voice. I squatted down and leaned in closer, trying to hear the words from the voice.

"I'm sorry...Evelyn." It was the last thing I heard, then the voice was gone. 'I'm sorry...Evelyn.' kept ringing through my head. Ezra's last words were all my brain could comprehend, so I repeatedly ran them through my mind again and again. 'I'm sorry...Evelyn.'

"I asked you a question BOY...How does it feel?" Derim's shouting brought me out of my daze. An all too familiar bell sound rang once again.

'Tti-ring.'

[Item: Eyes of Obito Uchiha]

Rarity: N/A

Type: Eyes

Stage: Mangekyou Sharingan (1 other stage available)

Ability: Kamui

Kamui: With every use of the Kamui, 2 mana will be spent. Kamui allows the user to transfer anything into or out the pocket dimension from the right or left Mangekyou Sharingan eye. This ability when used through the 'right Mangekyou sharingan eye' can make the user's body intangible by transporting portions of the user's body to the pocket dimension. The 'left Mangekyou Sharingan eye' allows the user to transport things into the pocket dimension from range. The 'right eye' requires physical contact to absorb the target, while the 'left eye' can do so from a distance. When both 'left' and 'right' eyes are used at the same time to teleport, the process works twice as fast. Kamui ability is only usable with the Mangekyo Sharingan Stage.

Perception: +20%

Agility: +20%

During its activation, 5 Mana will be spent every minute. Amount of mana spent every minute will increase upon the stage.

The eyes of Obito Uchiha. These eyes hold the possible powers of the Sharingan and Mangekyou SHaringan. The 'Eyes of Obito Uchiha' will evolve in response to the 'Player's growth and mental state. If evolved, hidden skills belonging to the 'Eyes of Obito Uchiha' can be unlocked. The stats of the 'Eyes of Obito Uchiha' will also enhance in response to the 'Player's growth. To Activate the 'Eyes of Obito Uchiha,' say/think the word of the 'Stage,' such as 'Sharingan' or say/think of the ability you would like to use.

I could barely think of anything other than one thing, the Sharingan upgrade barely registered in my mind. I turned my body around to face the 5 enemies I had yet to kill.

'Kill, Rage, Rage, Kill, Rage, Kill, Kill,' the words kept pounding in my head.

I had just lost a 'friend', someone I vowed to help and protect. So I did what anyone would do, what any boy with feelings and an itch for power would do.

…I RAGED.

"I take this responsibility upon myself...

...to rid the filth," I mumbled as I looked up at my enemies, my eyes widened to a freakish degree.

(POV: Derim)

The boy's eyes beamed with a potent blue glow. A terrifying blue, a blue laced with a crimson-red streak. Through those eyes, I could see anger, hate, and pain. Those eyes could see something I couldn't, and the way he looked at me, he only wanted one thing.

The pressure the boy released after the two elves died was different. It was like killing intent, no, it was much deeper. It was more truthful, this pressure was truly potent with emotion and drive. This pressure was his will, his will to kill.

And then, the boy mumbled a couple words. Something about 'ridding the filth,' those words almost made me chuckle. But then...then it happened.

It was just for a split second, just a glimpse, but I saw them, I paled in comparison to them, to those...those eyes.

I stood tall before, and I stood tall now, as a dark orange fire augmenter. I had experience, I had power, but in front of those larger than life eyes, I had nothing.

...I was nothing. To those eyes, I was merely vermin, the lowest of the low, the low that needs to be ridded.

And as soon as I saw those eyes, my confidence vanished. As if it were never there at all.

I glanced at my crew as they stood in place, all ready to attack. They must have not seen what I had seen. Because of my experience I was still sane after seeing those eyes, I still had the will to fight. But if they were to see them, they'd be petrified.

That boy. I wanted to kill, but those eyes, those eyes wanted to kill so much more.

(POV: Zefrow)

I could feel the impact of unlocking the mangekyou stage on my body, causing my fatigue to rise. But I paid no mind to that, I had more important things to do, things that can't be neglected.

Because of the overload of stress, mana and power, my eyes began to bleed. But the surge of power also kept me sane, kept me from breaking.

I tightened the grip on my dagger and dashed forward. 'Kill. Kill them all.' I said to myself. I immediately noticed my movements were off-put because of the rise in perception and agility of the Sharingan. They had gone from 5 percent to 20 percent.

The non-mages got their daggers ready to swing as the mages augmented their swords once again.

'Right.' I thought, heading for the earth augmenter.

"Ryder!" A shout could be heard. A big earth wall rose from the ground, no doubt made to protect the augmenter.

'No.' I thought. I had no experience with the usage of this ability yet, but I had no choice. In my mind this was my best bet.

The earth wall now two feet away from me, the other mage closing in from my left.

'Kamui.' I said in my head, focusing on my body parts as I sent them to the pocket dimension.

"What?!" The earth augmenter, Ryder, shouted as my body went through his wall.

*"SLICE"*

My blade connected with his neck, penetrating, and cutting through. The mage's body dropped lifelessly to the ground, the sound of his sword hitting the ground echoing throughout the room.

*"CLANK"*

I walked past his body and looked over at the four men left. The holographic blue screen displaying my progress.

I looked over at the four enemies I had yet to kill. I could feel their heartbeats with my 'Perception' stat.

We were all shaking, but for different reasons, they shook from fear, I shook from rage.

I put one foot forward, they all stepped back, but I didn't. I dashed forward, blade in hand. The fire augmenter swung his sword at me, I could sense the power and mana he had imbued within his wing.

'Kamui.' I focused on the upper half of my body. His eyes widened as I passed through his blazing sword. I gripped my dagger tightly and focused on his arm.

*"SLICE"*

His arm fell, as well as his sword.

The three non-mages simultaneously swung their knives and daggers at me as soon as they saw what I had done. But it was no use. The situation had changed. The predator and prey roles had been reversed.

'Kamui.' The swords passed through me, one clashing with another.

"I can't hit him!"

"Neither can I!"

"What do we do!"

The men were blindly swinging their swords. They simply didn't know what they were up against.

"Sir what do we d-" one man's voice was cut off by my blade, making the room one person less loud.

One man was barely standing, blood gushing out of the left side of his torso. Another man was still on the ground, slowly getting up, his right arm severed off. The last one swinging his sword at me pointlessly, just wishing one would hit. But I could see, with these eyes, it was almost too easy.

*"SLICE"*

My dagger ran swiftly along his neck and throat, creating a precise red line. The man grabbed his throat trying to stop the bleeding, but it was no use.

The sound of the body of the man dropping on the floor echoed throughout the room. The only things that could now be heard were the grunts of two soon to be dead men, both barely standing. Blood and fear covering their bodies.

I walked over to the non-mage expecting a swing from the sword he was loosely holding with his right hand. But I was mistaken. The non-mage dropped on the floor, face planting, but I received no notification of his death, so I made sure of it.

I jabbed the sword he had dropped into his back.

The last one, Derim. His sword now in his left hand, as his right one was no longer with him.

"You'll pay for all this! YOU"LL PAY!!" He exclaimed as he blindlessly swung his fire augmented sword.

"Kamui," I mumbled, passing through his swings as well as his body. As I stood behind him, my blade met his nape, his blood oozing out at me.

"You'll pay for this," he cried out one last time, until his body met the floor, silencing his voice.
