15 CHAPTER FIFTEEN:The Attention She Craved For.
She expected more.
Even if it didn't have to be Kai who she had expected to come to see her,she would have preferred a lowly maid than to the lowly excuse of a human being standing right infront of her.
Axel Hamilton.
Her father.
The man who had been long tagged dead to her,since she had gotten used to the fact that he abandoned her just like her mother did.
The man who had made it clear to her, that she was nothing but a responsibility that he didn't foresee coming his way.
And right now,he was standing right here in the middle of her room,not only did that pissed her off but he had the audacity to call her name.
She didn't even know he had any idea what her name really was, talkmore of her middle name.
Wow!
Can things not get any worse?
She couldn't think straight at the moment, to conclude if this was not another strategy formulated by her Grandma to bend her to her whims.
She knew how much she despised the man who was sharing the same oxygen in her room,yet she had sent him here to be the very first person to welcome her back here.
At this point of time, Tiana wouldn't mind getting married,if that would be the only solution that would stop her from seeing him.
What made it worse for her was the fact that she was the exact replica of him,this was just the punishment she would have to carry all the days of her life for being the blood of Axel Hamilton.
Not only was she sharing the same blood with him,his genes suppressed her mother's making her look like the girly version of him,which she was.
Axel Hamilton was a fine handsome man,no pun intended,but that's stating where her beauty comes from,not that she's praising him or what.
Nah!
The hell she wouldn't do that, beneath those good looks was a man whose heart is dark,so dark to abandon his daughter when she needed him the most.
Composing herself, so that he wouldn't see any room to get through her with her emotions that are wavering at the thoughts of him.
"How are you….."He asked,but she didn't give him any room to push further with his words, but cut him short to it.
"I don't think that would be any business of yours,as you can see,I'm me, nothing more,nothing less"She snapped,with her arms folded to see the hurt in his face at her statement.
As if that is going to help at this point of time, because he's wrong if he thinks that pretending like he cares about her safety all these while was going to help fix things between them.
He should stop the pretense, because it's no doubt this was some sort of plan between him,and his mother to convince her in whatever plan they were cooking up for her.
He will be nothing but disappointed likewise his mother, because she's not backing down without a fight,not ever!
"I'm sorry Tee ''He apologized,he didn't know exactly what else to say at the moment aside from this.
She bursted out laughing,that he took a step forward but she moved back,away from him as if he carried some deadly disease that was going to infect her.
"Keep your distance,Mr.Hamilton,I don't appreciate you in my space,and my name is Tiana"She cautioned,her hands falling at her sides with a sigh that left her lips at his composure.
He was such a good actor, and a loyal dog and son to his mother,like who doesn't know that all this was fake?
"You need to stop chasing me away child,I've tried…."
"Oh please!it's not like you deserve the privilege of staying in the same space with me, you made it quite clear to me years ago that i don't mean anything to …."Tiana spat,but the tears was what she didn't planned for,he is going to use it to his advantage.
"That was the most stupid decisions that I'm regretting ten folds right …"Axel confessed.
This was the only time, and opportunity he had to make his mind open to his daughter, because he had come to reckon that all this is part of his fault.
She being like this,was all because of him and what he wouldn't allow is his daughter making the same mistake, by succumbing to his mother's wish to get her married just to get her inheritance.
"And i don't care if you are regretting or not,It doesn't make any sense to me! Stay away from me!"She shouted,taking her pillow from her bed and threw it his way,which he ducked.
She was just throwing tantrums like a child,which she was nothing but a child whose hurt desperately,but in the inner part of her heart,she craved the attention which her dad was giving her right now.
She was tempted, really tempted to believe him and his words.
But the fear of betrayal,the fear of what he had planned all along with Catrina Hamilton was the beginning of wisdom for her.
There's absolutely no way he could have changed in this short while of her absence here,that's arrant bullshit!
"Tiana you need to calm down,for god sake I'm a changed man now,I don't want to hurt you"He walked up again, but kept abit distance this time.
"But you did hurt me!"She yelled directly at his face,she was now standing face to face with him,with tears cascading down her face which hurt her.
It hurts deeply because he's the only one who can bring tears to her eyes,he's the only one who can make her feel this weak even after building up a cold wall around her heart and pledged never to be this way anymore.
It wasn't the same when it came to her father,which is more reason why she despised him,as much as she tried to not feel affected with the way he's treating her.
She couldn't help but crave for his attention,that's why she had always been nothing but a headache to the family so that she could have his attention,just once.
But he didn't care!
So why the fake act right now?
"And I'm sorry Tiana,you can hate me for all you want because honestly i don't deserve your love or anything,but please stop hurting yourself because of me please?"He begged,cupping her face to keep her eyes on the same level with his.
There was a minute silence between both father and daughter, that it's so lovely and so warm watching as the two settled their differences.
He thought they were heading somewhere,he actually thought that she would listen to him,but he didn't know his daughter at all.
She jerked his hands off her face,and moved back, cleaning her tears with the back of right hand and turned her back to him.
She's confused.
She doesn't want to accept that this was happening,this was all she had ever wished for, her dad's attention.
But yet,she wasn't comfortable with the time of his changed attitude corresponding with this critical time of his mother's plan towards her.
Is this an act or is he honest?
He would always choose his mother Tiana,think wisely!
"Tian…''He called,this time placing his hand on her shoulder,but she did the reverse by turning to face him and jerked his hands off her shoulder, with her eyes being the evidence that she didn't buy what he just did.
"I refused to be used by you or that old witch out there!"
"This is not …"
"I don't bloody care about what it is you think you are going to gain out of this,but i will let you know that this time,I won't be the victim anymore"She honestly let out everything with all vexation.
No.
It's too early to trust him,if he wants to prove to her that he's a changed man? He knows what to do.
"For the love of God honey,I'm not…"Axel tried talking,but it's of no use,she's made up her mind and there's no changing it.
"I need to be left alone"She finally said lastly, turning her back to him one more time before she breaks down in front of him.
"Hone.."Still persisting,rather complying to her request.
"Leave!"
It took a while before she heard the door of her room being closed,but this time it wasn't locked.
She squatted down beside her bed,as the tears which she tried as much as possible not to flow in front of her father,started raining down her face tremendously.
She didn't stop to think of the fact that her Grandma might be watching through the camera,she knew she saw everything but she didn't care at all.
Right now,all she needed was to be alone, she's had enough of betrayal coming from her loved ones,even with the people she trusted with everything.
How's she even sure that her Betrothed, who her grandma had setup for her, wouldn't leave her too?
At this point of time,it was obvious to the heiress that she was all alone,and she intended to keep it that way.
To hell with the love!
