Theodora felt the ground slipping under her feet as Augustus told her about the confession he had made to Edwin. She didn't understand why he did that and why he didn't consult her first.

Slumping in the chair, feeling weak in the knees, she breathed through the parted lips in shock.

"What have you done, Augustus? How could you do that? Oh my God!" Her brain was trying hard to grab around the fact, but it was too unexpected and sudden that she found it difficult.

The door swung open, and Edwin strode inside without asking for permission. Theodora was instantly on her feet and approached him with teary eyes.

"Please Edwin listen to me first. Your uncle-"

"So he has told you already. Good! Now I don't need to send you outside as I speak with him." The coldness and detachment in his voice panicked Theodora.

Augustus slowly looked up at Edwin and nodded his head.

"Lord Augustus, I have thought about what you told me. And I understand why you did that."
