2 Chapter 2 A Business Proposal

"Make a deal? What kind of deal?" I asked timidly.

His cold eyes stared me down his height adding to the intimidation.

"I will be blunt with you. I will pay off your debt down to the last penny but in return I as you for a short term contract."

"And what exactly will this contract imply?"

"For you to become my wife."

"Y-Your wife? i'm sorry what?" is he literally saying what I think he is saying.

"You heard me i didn't stutter. As it happens it's my grandfather's wish, or more so order. He is the one who owns the company, in order to keep it I must marry and eventually have an heir.

"Wait you said heir-as in a baby."

"That's correct in addition to us marrying all i ask is for one child. After he or she is born you are free to leave. ill even pay you after the divorce papers are signed. if everything plays out right a year or so from today you can be a free woman debt free and able to do what ever you want."

Marry a man i just met and have his child, let alone give that child away all for money? I know i'm in a pickle but how could I do that? but if it helps my father...

"So what do you say Ms. Taylor, do we have a deal?" he outstretched a large hand towards me.

Maybe it was the fact that i was so stressed or tired from working double shifts back to back at the local steakhouse but the next words flew out of my mouth before i realized it. My hand similar to the size of a child's compared to his, softly took his hand.

"Yes Mr. Kingsley we have a deal."i am probably going to hell for this.

A small smile crept onto his lips "Good to hear i will have some paperwork drawn up and sent to your residence. I will give you exactly three days to sort out any personal matters you have. after this i will transfer the $450,000 to your account so that you may pay your debts. After the 3 days are up i will send my driver to pick you up at 10 a.m., make sure to have everything you need I don't like to be kept waiting. Should you have any questions about the contract, here is my card." With that he handed me a smooth card containing his contact information.

With that he sat back down into his leather chair behind his polished wooden desk.

"Good day Ms. Taylor."

I took that as my que to leave i stood up with shaking legs and walked out of the office of doom without a word.

What have I just gotten myself into?

True to Mr. Kingsley's word, when I arrived home to my small rugged apartment a yellow envelope was waiting. The contents of the package included our contract, marriage papers, and divorce papers. All already signed by Kyle W. Kingsley.

My phone lit up with a message, I pulled it out and recognized the number of my bank. I opened the message:

A balance of $450,000 has been successfully deposited into your savings account.

So he wasn't lying. I really agreed to this contact. My phone beeped again a number I didn't recognize.

The money has been transferred. Have you looked over the contract? -K.

I hesitated before typing a brief response

No I have not. Will this evening.

I tossed my phone onto my bed and looked around my studio apartment. I didn't have much here but I guess I better start packing.

My rent contract was almost up and the landlord lady was very nice I shouldn't have an issue with her. I called her first informed her that I was moving due to family issues. Next I pulled out my check book and wrote out 3 checks. One to the local hospital where my mother was treated. The second for the remaining rent, and the last to my father. This money should be enough to pay off his loans and get his business back on track.

I ran down stairs and dropped off the checks in the mail before running back up. I closed the door and leaned against it sighing. I can't believe this is really happening. In one day all my debt will be paid off. And it's all due to Kyle Kingsley.

Those piercing blue eyes full of intimidation haunted my mind. I shook my head trying to rid the images there. I glanced at the clock-it's still early only 3:46 p.m. I'm suppose to work tonight at 4 but screw it I quit the stress and bullshit ain't worth the minimum wage. I walked over to my closet and pulled out my mismatching luggage. I started with the living room packing away all my pictures, books, and other nicknacks.

My clothes won't take too long so I sat down on the bed and pulled out the contract. Let's see what I got myself into.

The following document contains all the terms and agreements made between Kyle W. Kingsley and Elizabeth M. Taylor.

By signing the following forms both parties understand and agree to all terms, should one break this contract legal actions will be enforced.

Both parties agree to the following:

Section I

The two individuals will become legal marriage partners. Official documents will be signed.

The party member Elizabeth Taylor will be required to preform actions in public to convince the marriage is legitimate. Actions include but are not limited to: holding of hands or other affection, socialization with family and business partners(if needed), social outings, and performance of household duties.

Section II

The wife will agree to fertility treatments including diet changes, medication and any procedures necessary to allow a healthy child to be born.

The wife agreeing to this will agree not to use any drugs or alcohol during treatment or pregnancy. Or be involved in any sexual activity with other partners.

Neither parties will become involved in sexual relations with other people to avoid questioning of the child's legitimacy.

Section III

Once a child is born and old enough to separate from the mother, a divorce document will be signed and full custody of the child or children will be given to the father.

At the bottom of each section was a line for me to sign. He really thought of everything...even down to the custody. Could I really give birth to a child and just give him or her away?

I picked up my phone and dialed the number of the unknown.

"Kyle Kingsley speaking."

"It's me..."

"Ms. Taylor... I assume you read over the contract."

"Yeah. I have a few questions. First of all the convincing or the marriage...will we have a public wedding or a private signing of papers?"

"As much as I would prefer just the signing of papers my family must be involved that means you will be planning our wedding everyone must be convinced that we love each other. My mother and younger sister will most likely want a say in the matter."

"Oh I see." The way he said that word.. love it sounded so cold and empty.

"What else did you want to ask?"

"Well about the custody."

"What about it." He said flatly

I hesitated for a moment. "Does it have to be full custody. I just don't think it's right for a child to not have their mother...I know from personal experience. Plus wouldn't fully custody to the father of an infant child draw suspicions?"

There was a brief pause before he responded.

"I guess you are right about that detail my grandfather might catch on." I'll change that section to shared custody and have a new copy ready to sign tomorrow. Is there anything else?"

"Yeah one last one. Exactly how will the child be conceived?" Years seemed to pass before he let out a brief chuckle.

"By whatever means necessary."

"And what means will that be." I'm not stupid but I need to know.

"I'm going to fuck you plain and simple." He said shortly before hanging up.
