18 Testing the water

Sexual tensions were high in the air as Ace and Venus gazes at each other for what felt like an eternity.

Venus broke the silence first, "Um we should get those plates washed now" with her still blushing face.

Seeing the most adorably coy face on this woman made Ace heart softened and forget all about the naughty activities they just did to focus on just Venus now.

Letting out a magnetic chuckle, Ace then replied " Yes of course My Goddess, I will be at the sink, just hand me the plates alright?"

"No I cannot let a guest clean up the dirty plates, I really should have kept a maid here" Venus said and pouted.

" It is okay, what would a man be if his lady's hand got rough from washing the dishes?" Ace answered sternly as he started to put on gloves and turning on the the water.

Hearing that Venus could not help but smile in bliss and asked, "Hmm "his lady", are you saying we are official then Mr Liu?"

Ace face grinned a little and answered jokingly "No, I have been playing you for fun Miss Yang" with his back facing Venus who was now too busy gawking at his shoulder blades and hand movements. "Damn how does one's shoulder blades look so yummy?" was the current thoughts that came to her mind.

Noticing that Venus did not respond, Ace thought she took his statement as real and immediately tried to mend the situation.

"I was just kidding, honestly I want us to start dating; however, we have not met too many times, I want us to see each other a bit more before going into something serious. I treasure my time because each of my minutes equals millions of dollars and based on our conversation at the table I'm sure you felt the same way. So unless there is value in a relationship I do not want to waste my or your time Venus."

Venus who heard his earnest explanation could not help but feel touched. She doesn't like it when people immediately get haste with a decision especially toward a relationship and end up being in a toxic or an unhappy situation. So even though Venus knows that she is attracted to Ace at the moment, she wanted to get to know him more before going into a more serious situation.

As Venus was busy reflecting about how Ace was very sweet for being upfront about his thoughts rather than saying sweet nothing flirts, she had no idea that someone's mind was about to explode because of his nervousness to how she responds.

Ace knew that this confession is rather risky because for rich and pretty girls such as Venus by saying this it could badly hurt her pride and she could actually just reject him or be like those girls who feared him but still fake a smile to and just complied to whatever he is saying so they can be in a relationship with him.

He did not like either of the options above so in another way this is Ace's way of testing the waters to see if Venus was going to be worth it too.

A long pause between Ace and Venus dragged on for about 15 minutes where only the sound of water hitting the sink and plates were heard. After he was finished, Ace reached to turn the water off and was about to ask why Venus did not answer and what her thoughts were.

Before he could turn around, a swift scent of rose engulfed Ace's sense and he found two hands wrapping his lower abs from behind.

Ace was going to ask what's happening, but Venus interrupted him before he could. " It's okay, I honestly have the same thoughts as you. I don't know how many relationships you have been in before, but this is my first time being in one. I am silly when I am with people I like and love Ace; however, I am a serious person when it comes to relationships. I treasured them deeply especially after my parent's death, so definitely let's spend more time before we go into anything too serious. I must warn you though, once I am being wholehearted about something, I go 100 percent in."

To Ace the last line was the best line he had heard or ever imagined what the most romantic line would be. So he immediately grabbed her hands and raised it above her body in order to twist Venus 360 degrees. Then leaned in to give her a butterfly kiss and to Venus this was the most romantic respond that he could have given her.
