4 Chapter 4 : The twist of fate !

Third person point of view

" WHAT ?" Both of them shouted at once. Leo stood up as he shouted. Luke glanced at Leo who stood up when they exclaimed at the same time. The adults were looking at them. They looked at each other with their blood boiling inside them. " You know what you are doing ? " Luke asked his parents. He kept repeating their words in his head and he knew he heard them right. " Come on. Don't be like that. We are family. Why do you not want to do it ? " He couldn't say anything to it. He just threw his hands in the air feeling clearly frustrated.

" I don't want to marry someone I don't love let alone someone I just met ". " Come on. You don't even know him? You not knowing him is not even an issue. Then try to do it. How will you know if you like him or not ? " Luke shook his head and left the room. He knew it was no use even if he stayed there anymore and argued. Luke didn't even want to stay there anymore. Leo just watched as Luke left the room. He couldn't help but sigh as well. Luke's mother was calling for him, but he didn't stop. " He is just stubborn. Don't worry we will settle this ". Leo's mother laughed a little awkwardly. Soon they left to their house. Leo was dropped at their house and his mom left for the office.

Luke went out and came back after sometime. He saw his mother as soon as he walked inside. " Mom ". His mother stopped in her tracks and turned around to him. " Oh, you're home ". " Why did you do that ?" " What is wrong with that ? We have always been associated with each other for a very long time. So we decided on that. Come on, be a good child. Your father has accepted it as well. So listen to us and do it ". He couldn't even say anything about it and watched as his mother walked away. He could only scoff at his own twist of fate. He knew his feeling just came out to be true.

At Leo's house at night.

He sat for dinner along with his mother. He watched his mother eating like nothing happened and bowed his head. " Why did you do it ? " He didn't look up from his food. " About what ? " " About what happened this morning ". His mother put her glass down. " It is my decision. Being in my family means you will listen to me. From when did you expect to have so much of freedom ? " " Don't you think this is too much ". " I don't ". He couldn't say anything. He had a few mouthfuls and left the table. His mother looked at him as he walked away. She continued with her dinner as she watched her son's retreating back. He went to his room filled with rage. He sat on his bed.

He knew he never had freedom, but this was too much. He didn't want to get involved with him anymore. But now he was being forced to do it. He fell back on his bed. Thoughts were running in his mind and he didn't like it. He was frowning a lot today. He closed eyes and fell asleep at last anyway.

He went out to meet his friend the next morning. He walked up to his friend, Jade, who was sitting on a bench. Jade who was waiting for Leo looked up. He saw Leo's gloomy expression and was confused. " Why are you like that early in the morning ? Woke up on the wrong side ? " Leo sighed shaking his head. He decided to let it all out. He just wanted to speak to someone about it all. "Remember I told you about a pervert I met once at a bar ? " Leo's face showed how he felt towards Luke. Jade seemed to be in thought for a second. " When you went to attend a party that time ? " Leo nodded.

" He is one of my mother's friends' son. I met him again yesterday ". " OHHHHHHHH! So what happened ?" Leo looked straight ahead as he spoke. " My mother wants me to get married to him". Jade spit the coffee in his mouth. He was shocked out of his wits. He quickly wiped his mouth with a tissue. " What did you say ? MARRIAGE ? " Leo nodded. Jade was still not able to take it in. He was surprised as he took another sip of his coffee. He just kept blinking for a few seconds. He calmed down in a few seconds after a few sips of his coffee. " So, you don't like it". Leo nodded again.

" So you don't want to do it ". Leo nodded once again. Jade said them like statements more than questions. " Then why didn't you tell your mother ? " " Do you not know about her ? " Jade realized it and made an 'oh'. " I really don't want to do it ". Jade couldn't help but sigh at his friend's sorrow. " Then how about you try speaking to his parents ? " Leo looked at him in confusion. " Since you are not able to go from one end, try the other. Who knows? It might work ". Leo gave it a thought. He was not willing to speak to Luke. So he might as well consider Jade's words.

Jade might be right. Even if the chances might be less, he shouldn't give up without even trying. There is still a little hope left for him...right? He decided that he will go to the office to speak to Luke's father.
