5 Chapter Five

"Like that wasn't enough, after asking him like a thousand times where his supplies were, he finally made me use those automatic vacuum cleaners only for me to end up using a broom all over again, telling me he wasn't paying me to lazy about." By the time, Kim had finished, she was infuriated once again.

"That's not nice," Tessa said with a serious face but still ended up laughing.

"I'm done here."

"C'mon Kim, you got to admit it was funny."

"I see you're already taking his side." Kim said, standing up from the couch.

"I wasn't, Kim."

Kim ignored her sister as she made for her room. She sat on the bed, motionless. Her body ached. It was times like this that she felt like curling up in a ball and just bawling her eyes out.

"Why did it have to be him?" She lamented holding her head in her hands. She tried recalling what happened earlier that day. She remembered the house too well. How she had always wanted to live the life. Live in a penthouse like he did. Not worrying about cleaning and stuff, having a personal chef. She groaned and slumped on the bed. Those were just wishful thinking that wouldn't even happen. All she ever wanted was to lie down on his soft wide bed. Her face flushed as she thought about what just went through her mind.

"That was not what I meant." She told herself. She shook her head trying to erase the thought of a man in bed with her.

"Who you kidding, you're imagining him with you in bed right now. It was pretty obvious with the way your body reacted when he grabbed you by your arm.' her subconscious said.

"Hey!" she gasped, "so not true."

"Whatever floats your boat." The voice said once more. She was going crazy. Why on earth would she want anyone like him?

"It's just because he was too good looking, that's all," she assured herself. Standing up, she decided to take a shower. Right now, the last thing on her mind was dinner with her sister. She dreaded what Tess would say, especially if a blush crept up her face.

"Why are you in such a hurry Kim, isn't a bit too early for you to leave for work?" Tessa said yawning.

Kim tried juggling between taking a bite of her toast and wearing her shoes. "I'm already late. When I say he is the devil's incarnate, believe me."

"You weren't joking,"

"Were you just realizing that now?" Kim answered in mockery. "Chill woman. Just try not think of murdering him okay?" "I'm not making no promises."

Tessa smiled at Kim's reply. She busied herself with pouring herself a cup of coffee. "I'll be home late today, have a late shift."

Kim looked up briefly to look at Tessa. "You're not going for lectures?" Tessa took a gulp of her coffee. "I would, later in the day. Would go to work from school."

Kim nodded her head, and drank the last of her coffee hurriedly. "Alright Tess, I'm off. Love you."

"Love you too sis," Tessa called out as Kim shut the door.

Kim hurriedly walked to the nearest bus station. She didn't want to mess up this job. As she waited for the bus to arrive, she went through the rules he had given her.

"Okay, rule number one, no talking back." That, she could manage to control.

"Rule number two, always be here by 7am sharp. I don't care about your prior engagements, cancel them." Those were his words, not hers. She rolled her eyes at his words.

"Rule number three, no touching of my things. I would know and I would fire you." Like she had any use for his stuff. Okay that was a lie, she could sell them and be rich.

"Rule number four, use brooms." Like hell she was going to use brooms all the time. This was life giving her lemons, she had to make lemonades out of it. She wondered why his house would have a Cctv installed inside. It

wasn't like he lived with someone. She had not really given it a thought when he said it yesterday. She was going to find the cameras by all means. The bus ride didn't take long. After about a few stops, she was at his neighbourhood. She got down almost tripping on the step. She literally ran the whole way to his apartment building.

"Could this elevator ride get any faster?" She lamented tapping her foot impatiently.

She ran all the way to his door. She tried composing her stance before she pressed the bell. She was exhausted.

"You need to get your lazy self to the gym," her subconscious told her. "Not now," she groaned inwardly.

The door opened a couple of seconds later. "Good morning Sir."

"You're late."

She checked her watch. She was only a minute late. She was tempted to slap his pretty boy face with her bag.

"I wouldn't have been late if you had opened the door quicker." She thought.

"What was that?" He asked, his face devoid of any emotions. She winced. She did not just say that out loud.

"Nothing," she quickly said. He walked to the seat on the couch. He sat crossed leg, his trousers outlining his leg. He looked yummy in his plain yet expensive shirt and jean trousers.

"Get a hold of yourself Kim," she thought.

She watched him pour a class of smoothie in a glass. He slowly lifted the cup to his lips. But dropped it back down on second thought. Instead he tipped the cup so that it's content was pouring on the floor. Kim just gasp watching as the green smoothie stained the floor.

He stood up and walked to where she stood in shock. "Clean up this mess." With that he left the house. She just gaped at him as he exited the house. It was official, she was going to kill him.

Alex watched her as she came in. If there was one thing he hated, it was tardiness.

"You're late," he told her, not bothering to respond to her greeting, even though it was just a minute past 7 am.

She checked her watch, her brows creased.

"I wouldn't have been late if you had opened the door quicker," she said.

He blinked at her. Did she just have the audacity to say that? "What was that?" He asked shocked, but kept a straight face. There was a surprise look on her face. It was more like she was oblivious to the fact that she had said that out loud. "Nothing." He stared at her long and hard. Ordinarily he would have fired her, but some reasons he couldn't just do that.

He poured himself a cup of vegetable smoothie. Watching her, he tipped the cup so that the green goo was on the floor. He smirked when he saw her shocked expression. He took a step to her and bent down to whisper into her ears.

"Clean up this mess." He stepped out smiling to himself. Call him a sadist but he didn't really care. If she could talk back at him however she wanted, she should at least taste his wrath. He

drove to the set. The technical team and crew members had already set up everything. He couldn't wait to finish the movie already. Seeing that it was the ending scene, he wanted to make sure they finish it perfectly and on time too.

"Director", his assistant called running to meet him. "What is it Joe?"

"There seems to be a situation."
