10 Truce

When she was half way down the stairs she heard a familiar voice,besides her mom and dad, coming from the dinning room.She rushed to see who it was.It was Merissa.The situation turned awkward when both their eyes met.

Earlier that day,After Merissa and Sandriyas' parents finished their chat,Merissa stood up to leave but that was when she noticed that it was raining heavily.The time was already past 6 and it was getting dark.So Mrs.Andrews suggested she should stay here for the night,which she accepted and now here she was sitting with the family for dinner.

Seeing Sandriya standing at the entrance of the dinning room , staring at her,Merissa pouted her lips and pretended to be mad.Seeing her expression, Sandriya felt even more guilty.She went to her side and hugged Merissa.

" I am sorry Dearie.I never want you to leave my side.The things i said were not from my heart.You know that i didnt mean it right.I shouldnt have slapped you either.Please dont hate me."She said sincerely.Merissa could feel tear drops soaking her sleeve."Ok i forgive everything you said earlier"she said patting Sandriyas' head gently."But as for the Slap,i am not gonna let it go easily.I will return it as your wedding present" she said still pretending to be mad.Sandriya didnt want to argue over the same topic again,so she let out a sigh and nodded and the friends came to a truce.

"Alright you two.We are starving here and the food is starting to get cold"her mother interupted.The two sat on their chairs and started eating.The atmosphere was extremely warm.

Once they were done,Sandriya and Merissa went back to her room.They both didnt show any trace of the fight they had earlier.Sandriya gave Merissa a set of new home clothes to change into.And soon the two were in their home clothes getting ready for bed.The time was quarter past 10.

As Sandriya had work the next day she took out her mobile to set an alarm.That was when she noticed few emails from Mr.Adams.It was the reports from the meetings she had asked him to send.

"Dearie,I have some reports to go through.It will take sometime.So if you are tired you go to sleep or you can do something while you wait for me.Promise it wont take long"she said to Merissa.

"Ok.Take your time.I will wait" she said not feeling a bit sleepy.

Sandriya went to her study room and started reading the mails Adams had sent her.The meeting had gone well and the team had done a good job.The team that she had put 4 years of work into never once disappointed her.After about 45 minutes,she finished reading the reports.Her neck started to ache as she was sitting in the same posture for nearly an hour.She closed her tab and kept it on the table and walked into her bedroom.

When she came in,Merissa was not in the bed room.She could see the lights in her walk-in cupboard were on.So she went in.When she entered the room her eyes opened wide in shock as she saw Merissa kneeling on the floor near the suitcase with a familiar letter in her hands.

While Sandriya was busy with her work,Merissa felt bored.So she went to Sandriya's walk-in cupboard to check out her outfit collections.That was when an old looking suitcase caught her eye.Being a curious person,She took it out from the shelf and tried opening it.Luckily,the case was not closed properly as if someone threw it in a hurry.She examined the contents and they were all photos of her besties' school days.Among the contents was an old letter.On looking she could understand that it was a love letter.Excited to know about her friends' high school sweet heart she decided to read it.

"How strange.There is no info about to whom it is addressed.May be if I read it I might know his name."thinking to herself she started to read it.

She couldnt help but smile at how naive her friend had been back in her School days.She was about to reach the end of the letter but she still couldnt find the person to whom she wrote it.When she finished the entire page she turned the letter and that was when she saw two names written in perfect calligraphy

"Jonathan❤Sandriya"

The moment her eyes fell on the name Jonathan the smile she had earlier disappeared and her eyes turned dark.That was the exact moment Sandriya entered the room.Merissa stood up ,threw the letter on the floor and glared at her friend.Sandriya stood there with a face pale with distress...
