Merissa was standing alone in the bedroom still in a trance from what happened earlier.Hearing the loud thud sound, Mrs.Andrews came running upstairs and opened the door.Seeing Merissa stand alone and her reddened cheeks she could partly guess what had happened.She took Merissa downstairs and made her sit on the sofa.

For a while the two women didnot speak.Merissa was still silent from the shock and Mrs.Andrews didnt know what to say to console her.She just stared at her cheek.She could clearly see the hand mark on her cheek.

Just then,"Auntie,Can i get a glass of water?"Merissa asked in a dull tone

"Sure darling"saying so,She got up to fetch some water.

Merissa emptied the entire glass before continuing"So she doesnt want me in her life anymore...huh?"

"Please dont mistake her dear.She said those horrible things only out of anger.And when her anger subsides she will definitely come looking for you.You know how she is.So dont remain angry darling"She tried to apologize on behalf of her daughter.

"Remain angry?Are joking auntie.I will never remain angry with my little devil.Dont worry.Its not like we have never fought in all these years." Merissa said as she rubbed her cheek"But she has never told me to step out of her life"

Mother Andrews was sorry for her.But before she could think of something to calm her...

"If she doesnt want me to stay then i will continue to stay in her life and annoy her as a true friend would.What do you say auntie?"she said throwing a enthusiastic smile at Mrs.Andrews , as if the scene from earlier had never played out." She doesnt wanna get married huh?Then i am gonna make her marry someone and i will be her maid of honor.And as for her wedding present , i am gonna return the slap she gave me today.Ha...ha"Merissa laughed trying to sound evil.

Mrs.Andrews could say nothing but look at her sigh helplessly.Yet she was happy that this argument didnt create a wedge between the two girls."If you are so determined to convince her to marry someone,you have my support"she said holding Merissas' hands in hers.

"Will i be of any help?" asked Mr.Andrews,who was reading the newspaper all this time.

"So that makes 3 of us" Merissa smiled.

She was not going to let her friend to live the rest of her life alone...
