Aedra (and a little more)

We started our way towards the city. With me being injured and a small child Shiroe decided upon a so called "genius idea".

"It's not that bad, it's faster, and no one will question it too much." And so there I was strapped to his back using his holy shroud as a makeshift back pack. "It's humiliating!"

"So what at least you don't have to walk. Now time for story time. You know this place so start spilling." With me wrapped up like a baby on his back there wasn't much else like he said.

"Okay you win there. Now where to start; first I'll talk about the gods both sides of the coin briefly, then I'll go into more about the planet were on okay?" "Sounds good to me"

"Starting off we have the Aedra and Deadra. To factions if you will but they are powerful. The Aedra were more of the founders of the pantheon if you will due to the fact they have most of their power into creating and binding themselves to Nirn the planet we are on. The Dedra are residents of oblivion the realms surrounding Nirn. The Dedric princes are the strongest of them and hold what could be compared to authorities from your home universe. Any questions?"

"Sure, you said that any thing outside of Nirn is basically Oblivion, was that the bubbles all around when we flew in?"

"Yeah that's about right, those bubbles were probably different planes and their owners. The larger ones can be considered lords but don't hold nearly the power of the princes." He shrugges which causes me to wince from the jostling.

"Continuing on, what I remember for important Aedra off the top my head. Akatosh, who we saw earlier is the dragon god of time. Also considered the light of the sun but the elves known as Altimer. We'll get back to them and other races in a bit. The next one in my book is Mara. Compassion and marriage are her main domains. Another is Kynereth or Kyne for her more ancestral name she governs the winds and nature. An interesting one to keep note of is Arkay. His office, if you will, is the dead and burial rights. If it's a funeral it's typically a priest of Arkay. With me so far?"

"Yeah I'm with you, any particular reason Mara is so high on your list?" I'm ever so slightly tempted to headbutt him since that's basically the only thing I can move and I'm facing backwards from him.

"Well, if I ever get married I sure as hell wouldn't want the only god who sanctifies said marriages against me." A small pause in his steps as he begins moving once more.

"Well next on our list of gods would probably be Stendar. Mostly a god of justice but that mostly counts for his followers being nothing but zealot Deadra haters who stop at nothing to eradicate such a threat. Closest analogy, thing old Christian crusaders and you have a very close comparison. Not to mention they don't ever change! Like you had 450 something years to change even the slightest, but noooo." I catch my self a little bit here.

"Something you wanna unpack there Azarius?" His head turning ever so slightly.

"Let's just say they got themselves killed by going after what basically amounted to dead apostle level vampires thinking that they would be the same as every other coven. AFTER THEY WERE WARNED! But you know what I could still root for them if the last two nimwits left alive after their entire Order was slaughtered across a providence didn't decide to go after a lead with no backup NOT waiting for what amounts to a demigod in this world! Like are you just that dumb?" I was huffing at this point a little out of breath from my rant.

"Soooo, how does that make you really feel?" A small smug smile as he realized how much it irked me. "I'll pull a Zelretch on you, don't tempt me." and so he was facing forward again.

"Now as I was saying, Stendar nowadays is more representative of mercy. As much as that amounts to with his followers. Next is Zenithar, you can think of him as a trade god. Another on our list of the divines is Dibella, think of Aphrodite and you have a close representation of her authority. Last but not least is Julianos. He can be considered a patron of mages as his domain is wisdom and logic. Important to note that the divines, when they helped create Nirn, gave up a lot of things. Included in this is their ability to change. The Aedra are static and represent as such. Moving only as their creations have. Oh and a mor honorable mention is Talos. He was a hero who through worship and deeds, on top of being a demigod, went through apotheosis. Mostly worshiped by the Nords. Also he was the one who started the empire we will talk about later."

We walked a bit more in simple silence till Shiroe broke it once more. "Lots to unpack there. I guess the main question to ask is what would their thoughts be on us?" "Good damn question, that I don't have a good answer to. Most I could say is that depends on what we can do. I don't know much about some of the others but my go to tips for dealing with them in any capacity would be for each of them. Akatosh - don't mess with time.

Mara - don't disturb weddings or happy marriages if we can.

Zenithar - may show new ways to make money I guess

Julianos - we have you for the basics of mage craft. Eventually teaching that might help gain is favor.

Stendar - Don't associate with the more evil Deadra so we don't end up looking for his zealot's mercy.

Arkay - No necromancy ever!

Kynereth or Kyne - respect nature and don't curse at her winds. To some she holds the voice of the world and there's one type of magic I really wanna study.

Talos - he's a hero god who founded an empire and represents the more human races. So be nice to them.

Dibella - don't mess with her priestesses. No matter how they worship leave them to their ways."

"Sounds good enough for me. Hopefully we can have a bit of a break before anything major happens." I thought about our options in case of emergencies for right now. "So the heroic spirit thing usually works off of a grail or some other power source when your summoned right? How does that work now?" He walked in thought for a bit as if checking something.

"As it feels now I'm constantly being given high quality mana from both you and the environment. I also can feel how the mana in the air is subtly different and changing my body. I honestly just realized I'm starting to feel more "whole" for lack of a better word. It's slow but it is happening."

Now that was food for thought his senses were far sharper than mine for this kinda thing anyways. "The "mana" in the air and produced by the residents of the whole of Nirn and Oblivion is called magicka. You can think of the two terms interchangeably here but when talking with locals magicka is the term to use."

"Fine by me, what's the next topic cause we still have about an hour or two's walk till we get there."

"Next up is the Deadra and the Dedric princes."

Changed up a little of how I was writing and paragraph structure to make it flow better let me know your thoughts please?
