Waking up

In a far off universe, filled with magic, dragons and gods, where world eating serpents did battle with mages who could erase mountains with but a thought, there lay a gargantuan planet. It was filled with mountain ranges that seemed to stretch on forever, huge rivers the width of oceans and trees so tall that one could not see the top. But despite being so full, not a single thing lived on it, it's mountain ranges untouched and filled with ore, it's rivers and seas nothing but empty masses of water, and it's forests so quite that the smallest sound would echo for miles. This strange phenomenon was the effect of what the truly powerful inhabitants of this universe liked to call 'The graveyard'. This was, in all honesty, the classic 'forbidden area' you often would see in novel's, a place where ancient gods and demons fought and died, a place where even the rusted broken sword on the ground was a ancient immortal weapon that sects would kill each other over just to obtain, a place where main characters would come and take everything with there peerless(often barely legal) beauties and come out with not even a scratch. The graveyard was like these places but with a few key differences. It was indeed a place where immortals, gods, demons, whatever you can think of fought and died and it was indeed where one could find ancient treasures, spirts, spells, techniques etc. But that is where the similarities end, for there have been countless of the aforementioned 'main characters' who went there, with there ridiculous names(often just two mythological figures first names mashed together to make the 'coolest' names possible), beauty's, and sketchy system that hold back information from them just so they can later turn on said system later on when they get to 'strong'. And yet not a single one made it out, in fact each and every one died painful deaths. The most famous one was when one particular man who went there with his ten mistresses(two of them being his siblings) only for his mistresses to eat him after a night of passionate fornication because they all turned mad from the extreme quality of mana that permeated the air. Needless to say after that nice little incident not many people went there anymore. So when the world altering mana pulses started, the old demons and spirits left over were quite shocked.

IN THE ANCIENT VOID:

In the infinite darkness there was a soul. This particular soul has been in this void for a very long time, longer than most universes have been around. This soul was old, decaying, and very conscious. It originally was a human on earth, and unlike most souls, it knew this. But alas, it was not a wee little soul anymore, the sands of time having eroded the need to care for the little planet it hailed from.

It would have been a normal undisclosed point in time for the soul, but one thing was different.

This one thing was the fact that there was a giant tear in reality in front of it, almost begging it to go in. So after starting at it for what probably was eons, the soul decided to go in.
