The World of Xenese and its Magic

The word xenese means genesis in Galician. No, I don't speak this language, this is also at best a rough translation of the word because I used Google. If I inadvertently offended anyone I apologize.

Now the reason I chose the word genesis is that this world is just starting to form civilization and culture. There are very few beings currently above Tier 4. This is mainly because any beings with divinity require faith and currently everyone is to busy trying to survive on their own merits to care about anything like praying to a deity when they could be doing something productive. Any current divine beings at Tier 5 and 6 are beings that are intrinsically intertwined with nature. Examples from our world would Mother Earth and beings that represent the Seasons.

On Xenese the beings that exist at Tier 6 are Mother Nature, and the Seasons of Growth (Spring), Warmth (Summer), Falling (Autumn), and Cold (Winter). The beings that exist at Tier 5 are Aethus, Demigod of the Plains and Tundras, Dormund, Demigod of the Mountains, Igmon, Demigod of the Deserts, Mayi, Demigoddess of the Seas, Netera, Demigoddess of the Forests and Jungles, Renaya, Demigoddess of the Marshes and Swamps.

These beings will rise to Tier 7 along with Mother Nature. I know I didn't get all the biomes but I was trying to use broad terms to include a large variety of biomes in as few deities as possible. I don't want a huge pantheon until later in the series. These beings are the beginning of the 'Global Pantheon' these beings will always exist even without followers as long as the planets exist.

Other Pantheons will be known as either Racial Pantheons (eventually come to dominate Tier 6) or Cultural Pantheons (mainly made up of Tier 5 beings) that will rise and fall with their race or their kingdom/empire.

The world itself is around 5-6 times the size of our world. With about the same gravitational equivalent as our world. Means something 5 kg. here is 5 kg. there. It has a relatively similar position in its solar system as Earth does in ours which means that its axis is tilted and many of the biomes on Earth can be found there as well.

The astral beings of Xenese, however, are very different. First of all, Xenese has two suns a large blue star and a smaller red star that orbits around it. Xenese is, in a very peculiar manner, synced up with the orbit of the red star so it appears that the sun is a single astral being that has a red center that turns yellow in the middle and has a bright blue halo around it. Secondly, Xenese has three moons. Now I know your wondering do these moons have any special meaning and yes they do. All three moons are about the size but travel at different speeds and distances around the planet.

The closest and second slowest moon is a color resembling evergreen trees and is named Shizen. This moon is associated with nature and is very closely linked with Mother Nature. This moon will usually bless beings of nature that have great potential to become strong reinforcing the theory of survival of the fittest.

The second moon and fastest moon is a bright white color that is named Hikari. This moon is associated with the Light and may sometimes bless beings it divines will have bright, bold, or arrogant personalities letting it be known that the Light favors neither good nor evil.

The last and slowest moon is a deep black color that is named Kurayami. This moon is associated with the Dark and may sometimes bless beings it divines will have inconspicuous or cold personalities, or beings that it feels are best suited to the darkness. The Dark favors only those who can hold their own within it.

Due to their varying speeds and distances very rarely, if ever, will there ever be all three moons seen on the same night and very rarely will Hikari and Kurayami be seen on the same night.

The Magic of Xenese is divided into six different basic elements and can be arranged on a square with a yin/yang symbol in the middle of it to explain their relationships to each other. Around square goes Air, Fire, Earth, and Water. The Yin represents the Dark, and the Yang represents the Light.

The Rules of Magic.

Any being on Xenese has three affinities with one them being either Light or Dark. The other two come from the other elements. The elements will be a major element and a minor element with the major element deciding your minor. For example, if a being has a Major Air element they will also have a Minor Fire element, but if that being instead has a Major Fire element they will have a Minor Earth element, etc.

The restrictions of the elements are that opposing elements cannot be held by the same being. For example, no one will ever have Fire element and a Water element as either of their Major or Minor affinities.
