2 Brawling and another black one

As the young iguana emerged from the nest mound it saw several smaller green reptiles emerging from the same nest. Feeling hunger in its stomach the young reptile began to wander away from the nest when it felt something pounce onto its back. Reacting with a savagery that surprised even itself the young lizard immediately began to rip and tear into its smaller sibling and shortly thereafter began to devour it. Seeing what happened in reaction to a show of aggression, the rest of the clutch began to climb back into the burrow. When the rest had fled back into relative safety the only one left was a female with a very similar appearance to its own, though slightly smaller than himself. She also began to eagerly devour an upstart that had dared to attack her.

Waiting for her to finish her meal, he began scenting and observing his surroundings, looking for danger. After finishing her meal she began to scurry towards him and then proceeded to nudge him. Feeling her intentions to follow him, he began to move towards the water. Once there he began to move through the shallower waters where there would be fewer predators.

As they moved through the shallows they found a particularly short (3 meters above water) but wide (2 meters) dead tree that sat on the border of shallow and deep water. Climbing up the tree once they reached the top they found what appeared to be an ant nest. Feeling the growl of hunger return to their stomachs they quickly began to feast on the unfortunate insects. The ants were trapped for the roots had long ago become toughed by water and the branch leading to the next tree had been dislodged by a bird that had rested there in the days before.

Before long all the insects had been eaten by the pair of reptiles. Having opened up the trunk the two found that much of the trunk had been eaten through. Even better it had an underwater tunnel through the roots of the tree that was big enough for them to grow to maturity and still have enough room to pass through it. Clearing away all but the thickest of paths of wood between the opposing sides of the trunk the two made the hollowed out tree their own.
