New Game

Charles Nover was a regular guy, everyone knew this, his parents knew this, he himself understood this yet why did he die a stupid cliché way.

Exhaustion.

A simple problem with a simple solution but he died anyway. Why you might ask? Simple the education system and housework killed him. The system that required him every minute of his attention, education was one of the keys to success. This was true but it did not mean it was humane. The school Charles attended bombarded him with work each week all being worth a hundred points for each of the twelve subjects he had to take.

Ah, how he had missed the bliss of being a young man. What was he thinking!? He is- or rather was a young man.

As his sight began to fade he could hear the shock and screams his parents let out fading to oblivion.

-------

It was dark, dark but not scary. He had known what scary was after all he grew up with the Shin Megami Tensei series with all their beings and demons that frightened six-year-old Charles. When he was twelve he played 5 of the Persona games his elders saved for him specifically. He learned how to be a better person through those games! That is if you ignored that fact he acted like a weeb whenever he was picking fights. Ah, the stupidity of youth. At fifteen he had played Pokémon. No, not the Sinnoh remakes like Pokémon Temporal Diamond, Spacial Pearl, or Grievous Platinum. What he had played were the Original Gameboy versions like Fire Red& Emerald, The DS versions Pearl, Platinum, Black&White 1 and 2, and a single 3DS title called Pokemon X. He had loved the last one being able to customize his character. Sure, the Black and White versions let him be an actor(which was fun by the way) but it didn't beat the feeling of being unique like the characters you meet in-game.

Reminiscing, was he really that boring?

"W.... p!" The fuck was that? he thought

"WAKE UP!" Charles had felt a full-on Giga Impact hit him, that or a Megidolaon which leads him to his next question.

Again the Fuck was that.

He opened his eyes to see a man wearing a black and silver trimmed suit in a white room. The man(?) was looking at him and at closer inspection, the man(?) looked more like a woman(?), a beautiful one, one that had blonde hair similar to the sun and piercing red eyes that matched blood. The Lady(?) sat on a chair and the white room was instantly decorated similar to a mansion you'd expect a millionaire to have- that or the Villa you can freely customize in Pokémon Platinum.

"So," Her(?) voice echoed in the room." Charles Nover, I take it?"

The man in question nodded and the lady continued." Good, I believe you know why you're here."

Another nod.

"Good, good. Now you may or may not know me but I am known as the Scales of the soul. I weigh people for the sins and deeds they have done and judge where they may go."

"Phanuel, the Vision of God, the judge of souls." Charles has managed to mutter.

The Angel nodded." As you have noticed Charles, you died and in a rather miserable way."

Phanuel took a clipboard and skimmed through it. Occasionally stopping whenever Charles blushed and how wouldn't he? His life was too bland and ordinary! His Fucking social life was similar to the Emu wars! It was a cluster fuck of stupidity and hormonal imbalance. Like Fuck he just turned twenty back in January and the fucking new Plague as the world called it made online classes a fucking norm. This lead to his death. Who wouldn't die when 12 subjects expected him to pass papers worth 100 points.

It's a hell of a bad time that was.

He did the housework too- which stacked him with fatigue and well killed him.

And now he is monologuing. Great.

"I say, quite the unmemorable life you had. Aside from your slip-ups during your youth." a giggle was what the angel had given him. "Though this death was not even intended to be this early. You were supposed to have lived until the age of eighty years but I digress."

The angel stood up and faced Charles. Her(?) crimson eyes mirrored his brown and showed pity and sorrow for him.

"I normally would not do this for a mortal but even God is sorry for taking you away." She(?) gave the brown-haired man a smile." And looks to me like a gift shall be given to you."

"Choose, on my left hand your body while on the right hand a world you desire most." She(?) gave a stern look towards Charles. "Choose wisely."
