190 Home Alone

[Yuito's POV]

"I'm home." I said, opening the door to my house as my voice echoed through the empty space.

It was remarkable how lonely the house got when it missed only one person. Without Sumire, it did not even feel like a home.

I just realized now how much of a presence she had in my life. She was like the air, something I never truly realized the value of until I suffocated under the pressure of her absence.

I went inside of the house and changed my shoes before the long silence was broken by the sound coming from the floor above.

It sounded like someone running and falling, I could tell that it was directly above me, which was my room. Then the sound of the door opening resounded and after a while, Kurumi came running down the stairs.

Her appearance reminded me that I was not alone. I had a friend.

"Hey there girl!~" I said and she ran to me. She excitedly crashed against my chest and I embraced her.

"Whoa~ careful there. Were you sleeping in my room again?" I asked with my doggy voice as I rubbed all over her excited body.

Her body was extremely hot and she was panting heavily, which leads me to suspect that maybe she was not sleeping on my bed and doing something else.

"Why are you panting so much?" I asked and she shook her head and turned around, chasing her tail.

"You missing Sumire as well?" I asked and touched her fur. Her body was extremely warm against my hand, but maybe that was because I was cold being outside.

"It's going to be only me and you for a while." I got up and walked up the stairs and into my room. Kurumi followed behind me.

I found my bed being messed up. The blankets I carefully folded and the sheets I pulled without any case were all destroyed.

"Were you sleeping on my bed again? I told you to not mess it up even if you do." I said but I leap into my bed anyway.

I pulled the blanket over me and fixed the pillows before I snugly slept on my bed.  I could smell Kurumi's scent on my blankets and pillow. She obviously slept or played around on my bed.

Kurumi climbed the bed and crawled beside me. She laid on my chest and put her head down as she just stared at my face like the good girl she was.

I took out my phone and got comfortable, her body felt great against mine since she was so warm and I cuddled with her.

"Welp, nothing to do except lazing around." I looked at the time and saw that it was only 3 in the afternoon.

It was too late to do anything but still too early to call it a day and eat dinner.

I would've loved to call Komi or Marin over but they were not available. Komi was spending time with her own family while Marin was with her father.

Marin's father would be leaving Japan soon and wouldn't be spending Christmas with Marin. He would leave after three or so days and go back to his work and won't even return to spend the new year.

That was why the father and daughter were doing everything they could to spend as much time together as possible. Marin barely spends time with her father after all and I didn't want her to miss the chance.

I would've loved to visit them and even meet her father properly but Marin wouldn't allow it. I could guess that her father didn't like me much from her expression when she told specifically, not to visit.

I mean, I was two-timing his daughter after all, publicly at that. I would be pissed too if someone did my daughter dirty like that.

Marin told me not to worry about it even though I said I would like to confront him and bear any consequences. So in the end, I trusted her decision.

On the other hand, Komi's mother, Shuko had been understanding of our relationship and just made me promise I wouldn't hurt her daughter.

'Don't let her stoic face fool you. She feels more than anyone else, almost too much sometimes. So please take care of her.' Shuko had asked me and I made a promise to her.

But her father had nothing to say about it. Like literally he did not say a word when I met him, I now knew where Komi got her inability to speak from.

One thing I found out was that they both speak the same language, father and daughter. So I was able to understand him with 'Komi's language' which was at master.

So I know that he was okay with it as long as her daughter was happy. It was all that mattered to him.

I was on my phone, checking my social accounts, and reading the comments on some of the pictures and videos I posted.

My followers were increasing every day and my phone was filled with notifications. Normally, I would just ignore these but I had nothing better to do so I scrolled down the many comments.

I even went through different chanels that posted edits of my video or pictures all over the internet. Overall, I was seen in a good light more than hated.

I also proceeded to check the stock market and briefed through all the profits I made these past weeks. Suffice it to say, I was getting rich extremely quickly.

However, I did not let the money build up as I invested in other things and constantly put my money to work. A stagnant money was useless money.

You should make money your slave and let it work to make even more money.

I felt Kurumi's wet nose touch mine as I looked away from my phone and down at her. She was trying to get attention from me.

"What? you want smooches?" I asked with a smile and proceeded to kiss her snout. I rubbed her ears and she let out happy noises and her body shivered.

"haha, you are acting weird again." I said and she just licked my face, my nose, and my mouth. I pushed her back and stopped her.

"Ew, I told you not to do that." I scolded her but she just buried her face on my neck. This naughty girl.

I sighed and continued scrolling through the internet until it was time for dinner.

I went down to the kitchen and reheated some leftovers which Kurumi and I proceeded to devour. I felt some weird things when I ate it but I just shrugged it off, it was tasty anyway.

I cleaned the house a bit after that before I took a bath.

And then back to bed, I go.

I touched my phone for only a few minutes, watching YouTube videos, mostly about me or Hobin before I felt sleepy.

It was still early but I was already feeling extremely drowsy.

But before I went to bed, I read one last interesting article. It was about wolves.

It came to my recommendation after I subscribed to some websites when I first got Kurumi. I did my research on wolves after all.

The article was about wolves and love. I found many new interesting things in that article.

Apparently, wolves mated for life and different pairs of couple existed in a pack. Usually, it was the Alpha of the pack who got the most fertile female.

They also had a whole thing going on about how they court each other and how they show affection.

Interestingly, female wolves go into heat from December and can last up to March. During this time, they are courted by the males, it was not just about mating for wolves that's why the mating season was long.

They needed to have romance, unlike other animals where the strongest male just fucks every female.

The pregnancy last for 63 days and usually, females gave birth to 4-6 cups. The male and female wolves will separate from the pack during this time and the male wolf will take care of it

After they separated from the pack, they mate and had to survive like that before they raise the cubs and eventually rejoin the pack.

There were also many other details I missed but I soon found myself falling asleep without even realizing it.

I did not realize it back then but a pair of yellowish-orange eyes stared at me as I slowly fell asleep.
