7 Chapter 7: Beaming Down on Me

-Liz-

I woke up to bid my parents a safe trip and went back to my room to continue my sleep. As I entered my bedroom I tripped over my feet and gripped the top of my dresser to stabilize myself. I heard something fall onto the floor; I reached for it and felt its velvety exterior. My journal, it was on top of my dresser. Was it there the entire time and I was just blind as hell? I took my journal and placed it back on my bookshelf where it belong then headed to bed.

I'm flying over my house in the dark starry night. The view from up here is stunning and being closer to the sky was refreshing. I soared and spiraled across the night sky feeling exhilarated. This was an amazing feeling! I looked below and saw Micah sitting against a tree with his eyes closed. He's mumbling something but I can't hear what he is saying, it was almost as if he is talking to himself. I furrowed my brow in wonder and descended to him. The next second I was enclosed in total darkness unable to see my hands in front of me. I was now standing but couldn't make out what I was standing on. What is going on here? I yelled out for Micah but I only heard my voice echoing back at me. "Protect her! Get away from them! Take her away! We cannot leave you! Time for you to die! Mother loves you!", I heard several voices being spoken at the same time causing me to turn around and around trying to pinpoint the voices I was hearing. An overwhelming feeling of fear subdued every nerve in body disabling my movements. I wanted to scream but I couldn't utter a single sound, so I screamed for help in my head. Suddenly, I was struck in the gut by a fiery blade; in agony I tried to move my arm hoping to reach for whomever struck me. There was no luck in my movements, the best I could do was twitch my fingertips. What was going on here? Somebody, please, get me out of here; I mentally cried for help as blood spewed from my open wound and mouth. The blade withdrew and struck me in the chest a second later. My eyes watered, wide opened, and looked out into the darkness. My insides were being torn apart while I stood there helplessly unable to do anything. On the verge of accepting the fact this was how I was going to die, the blade twisted breaking my ribs and lacerating my lungs.

I woke up hyperventilating desperate for air as I clutched my chest and stomach. My body was covered in cold sweat soaking my t-shirt like a wet rag. I coughed and gaged, holding in my stomach contents while wheezing for air. I burst into tears when I was able to breath normally, unable to contain the horror inside. The fear I felt in my dream followed me back to reality making me curl into a tight ball under my covers. For hours I thought about what I had dreamt about and how surreal it felt. I replayed the dream bit by bit trying to comprehend the meaning of the dream.

It was already noon, I decided to get out of bed and journal my experience before taking a long hot shower. I stepped out of the shower and threw on another oversized t-shirt similar to the one I wore to bed. I performed my usual morning routine and head downstairs to make myself a sandwich. As I ate my cold lunch, I looked out the patio door and assessed the weather. It was a clear sunny day from the looks of it, but I had no intentions on going out today. I wanted to stay home due to my injuries; I also was not quite comfortable driving just yet, not after that terrifying accident. I pat the crumbs off my hands after finishing my last bite and walked over to the living room to turn on the TV. I guess today is a date between me, myself, and soapy medical dramas that eventually put me to sleep. After several hours and episodes, I decided to stretch my legs by heading out into the backyard for a quick stroll. The sky was still bright but red and purple ribbons slowly invaded the sun making it seem like the sun had no choice but to run away into hiding. I took several big sighs as I observed the change in the sky occurring before me. I heard a fall from a nearby tree just over my shoulder causing me to jump from shock. I looked over and saw nothing but fresh fallen leaves. Was it some sort of animal? The thud was definitely too big to be a squirrel or cat. I dismissed my momentary investigation and walked over to the pool to dip my feet resuming my observation of the evening sky. I closed my eyes while breathing in as much summer air as I possibly can to fill my tired lungs and let it out slowly. I opened my eyes and saw a shadowy figure fly over me. I flinched and kept my eyes on the figure until it disappeared into thin air. Did I just witness some alien, supernatural, UFO type of shit? I was flabbergasted and my curiosity led me to get on my feet and ready to chase after it, but I noticed the patio door was open. Did that thing just fly out of my house? I ran into my house and observed every room to see if anything was destroyed or missing. The house looked untouched. I ran back to the patio door and looked out to see if there was anything different after I came inside. Nothing was changed. Whatever I saw was cool but frightening at the same time, it didn't seem to have any dangerous intention. I shrugged it off and decided to make myself some dinner. I pulled out a box of Hamburger Helper and several types of vegetables from the fridge. I put together the dish in a matter of thirty minutes or less and continued my soapy medical drama as I devoured my meal. With nothing to do I focused all my attention to the TV until I was tired enough to call it a night. It was after midnight and fear crept over me. I was scared to sleep; scared that there was a possibility I may have agonizing nightmares; scared to experience a scarring aftermath. I took my time getting ready for bed as I blasted music to distract myself from caving into my negative thoughts. As I tucked myself into bed I played soft soothing piano music hoping it will help me ease into a dreamless sleep; and after several long minutes of starring at the bright moon beaming down on me I fell asleep with the music continuing to fill the room with tranquility.
