28 The Aftermath

Lu Yan's hand still trembling and his face pale. He had washed his hands multiple times, but it is impossible to wash the blood scent from it.

"It is the right thing to do." That is how he try to convince himself and although he knows it is right. It still makes his heart beating hard.

Is this means he is wrong and he has to repent for what he did. Or is this means he is not strong enough to do what is need to be done.

"You have to get use to that. This might be your first time, but I am sure it not going to be your last." A deep voice surprised Lu Yan.

No one supposed to know, he makes sure nobody seen him do it and hide any evidence even his body. Deep inside Lu Yan feel grateful for the affirmation given. It is an affirmation that he needs badly for his action.

However, there is still part of him that feel nervous by the fact someone knew the secret he tried to hide. This all combined his agitation and unstable emotion makes Lu Yan makes an aggressive approach towards the mysterious guy.

A sword technique is unleashed as Lu Yan swiftly attacks. His cultivation level makes Lu Yan's body so light and his steps almost like flying. His attack so fast, Lu Yan felt his limbs shaking when he suddenly stops at the air.

Something has stopped him in mid-air. It doesn't need a magical sense for Lu Yan to know he is stopped by a magic emanates from a hand in front of him. Lu Yan easily recognize the owner of both that hand and the voice before. This guy is none other than Guo Feng.

"Easy, I am not your enemy here. He is dead." Guo Feng calm words makes Lu Yan put down his sword at once.

"What are you doing here. How did you know what happened?" Lu Yan is baffled to see Guo Feng here. He is supposed to be meditate for breaking his cultivation base. Seeing how he lock him in the air just now, Lu Yan can only guess that this Guo Feng had succeed doing so.

"Well I happen to see you here contemplating. Of course, the news of that guy missing travel fast. He always loves the crowds so there is no way nobody seen him for a few days straight. Even when he is about to do some meditation, half of the outer sect will know beforehand. After that, it is easy for me to draw the conclusion of what happening."

It crossed Lu Yan's mind to not let any witness alive and kill Guo Feng. Sure enough, this though only happen in less than a second. It was hard for him to decide he should kill in the first place. Killing people just because he is afraid of witness surely not his style.

Besides of that Lu Yan is never think he is able to defeat Guo Feng in any way. He just beat a Qi Absorption cultivator before this. Han Fu's potions also can be replaced by secret potions given to him by the gods. However, Guo Feng certainly cannot be compared with those two people.

Against Yan Rui's goons before Lu Yan certainly have the advantage in his techniques and physical prowess as a whole. None of that exist against Guo Feng. Even at the Body Refinement Techniques, Guo Feng is superior than him in most areas that matter in a fight. Now that he already a Qi Cultivators there is no way Lu Yan can fight against him.

After reaching Qi Absorption, cultivators still need to practice how to use some magic. Guo Feng just make a breakthrough, yet he just cast a magic to stun Lu Yan without breaking a sweat. Guo Feng most likely able to cast magic more articulately than the two attackers that Lu Yan met before.

"Why bother than? Me killing someone is not going to affect you the slightest bit isn't it?" Lu Yan feel he should be cautious, since he is does not know Guo Feng that much. In fact, nobody in the sect truly know what in Guo Feng's mind.

"Directly, maybe not. But there will be a tournament between sects and I will need a reliable partner beside me. You always put Liu Fang in between us, but we both know you are the closest person to me in terms of talent.

Senior Han is not going to compete, aside from Senior Feng and Senior Yan you are the most reliable person in our sect. So, I cannot have you waver when the time comes. You have to be decisive in life and death situations."

Guo Feng talk to Lu Yan as if he speaks to himself. There is no consideration of what Lu Yan knows or feels about that piece of information.

"I do not know about that tournament, nor that I will participate in it." Lu Yan always sees Guo Feng as talented, but not so much as a friend. Sure, they came to the sect at the same time and share sometimes together in the class or when doing some task. But that is as far as they know each other. Few little conversations they had are about sharing some serious information's, no feelings ever attached there.

"With your talent, you will attract more envious people against you. Yan Rui surely not the only one giving you trouble. He might be your first, but I am sure he is not going to be your last. Whether you like it or not, it is inevitable. The same will said for us. Whether in this tournament or not, there will be time for us fighting together side by side. A war! Did Guo Feng just predicted a war going to happen. It has been hundreds of years of peace between the five kingdoms. Most part of that peace however is maintained by the five sects that hold important positions in those countries. The tournament might heat the relationship between these sects.

If the war does happen, Lu Yan will be at an awkward position since he actually is a Ji citizen that become disciple of Wing Sect from Yin Kingdom. This is still not a pressing matter for Lu Yan though. All he can think about is how he can make it even for Han Fu for all he did for Lu Yan before.

He said it is alright, he will not fail to reach the Soul Core Stage. It just his time been wasted. How much time though, Lu Yan will never know.

To help him defeat his to attackers, Han Fu has neglected his supposed to be secluded meditation. Not only it cost the meditation he made, it also cost him the precious Soul Coagulation Pill. Han Fu once said that people still able to reach the Soul Core Stage without the pill. It just that it will take so much time to achieve that, more often than not it will take more than a lifetime.

As of now Han Fu will try to replicate the pill effect with whatever ingredients he can find in this world, while waiting for another chance at the Soul Coagulation Pill. Both plans surely will take years to be done and that if it is can be done at all.

This fact is what turns Lu Yan into rampage earlier. Han Fu in his close meditation able to sense all living presence around. Therefore, he can sense Lu Yan and the killing intent from his attackers. Both of them will no longer pursue him after that defeat. But if Lu Yan wish this to never happen again, he has to eliminate the perpetrator, and that is what he just did.

It just that the damage had been done, so Lu Yan has to makes thing right for now.
