9 God of Darkness

What a loser, that guy actually choose to suicide rather than fight him. His swordplay before got to be a fluke, he just careless and that guy gets lucky. That loser Lu Yan can't just hope for some miracle to happen right, that he will meet with some sage or mythic beast that going to give him a secret technique down there. That kind of miracle just happen in stories, right? Not in the real life, in the real life you fall then you are dead. Simple as that.

Yan Rui though forget that every life is a story itself and, in every story, there is a miracle inside.

PS: Beside I won't tell a story about Lu Yan for 7 chapters then change the MC into Guo Feng right. Or should I?

Lu Yan is unconscious for some time. He really thinks he has already death, yet he is not. In fact, when he wakes up, Lu Yan felt vigorous. All his wound has healed up to. He wakes up in a cave, a huge one at that. The mountain made a huge dome out of the cave and far away up there is a small hole with other smaller holes around the cave, letting dim lights enter the cave. The bigger hole at the center top of this cave is definitely the gorge he jumped into. It was huge from up above, but look small from down here. Lu Yan can only guess how far he had fall, just how on earth he still alive though?

"Who are you? How you get this hairpin?" A deep voice suddenly heard from on corner of the cave. This voice is full with magical power in it.

The cave is dark inside so Lu Yan can't see the man who said it, he can see the jade hairpin that he holds though. In this dark place that hairpin radiates a bright green and look so beautiful, enchanting.

"My name is Lu Yan from the Divine Wing Sect. The hairpin is given to me by a goddess I met about three months earlier. Senior may I know who you are as well?" Under this enchanting circumstances Lu Yan can't lie.

Lu Yan have a hard time to move. Although his body felt invigorated, it felt numb so it is hard for Lu Yan to move. He must have unconscious for quite long, his body started to get stiff.

"Lu Yan. Divine Wing Sect. A Goddess. Hmmm." He took a long pause trying digest the information's

"Me, I guess I am a god for you. The God of Darkness." As he said that the man walks closer to Lu Yan so his appearance can be seen.

It is nothing look like a god though. His face covered with black hair and beards that look messy and dirty. His clothes are but a black rug that full of holes. However, the aura around him make it sure that this guy is strong and not to be taken lightly.

"What I am not look like a god you said." Lu Yan startled, he really sure he never said it out loud. His memory brought him to the moment he met the goddess, it makes him understand what happen. If this guy truly a god then he can read his mind easily. While he is not having such a breathtaking aura like she does, this guy might truly be one anyway.

The next seconds clear his doubt. The god's beard is falling, his hair just combed itself and his clothes sewed as well. He now looks clean and dignified, just like a god should be.

"Now do I look more like a god?" While he can read mind, it seems he still enjoy the chat as he waits for Lu Yan to answer his question. It is more of how the ability to change his appearance that has convince Lu Yan more than the appearance itself.

Lu Yan has to answer the question though "Uh, yes. I mean if you can change your appearance than why you are not having this appearance before."

"I'm a God, why would I care about my appearance. Nobody is supposed to see me, you are just a fluke."

He is right though. Except for those elders that has reach the Soul Core Stage no one else can say they have seen a God, but even they never saw a God here in earth. Lu Yan of course is an exception

Lu Yan has plenty other questions in his mind, he just doesn't know where he should start. This guy God or no can kill him instantly or give him some fortune. At least giving him back the jade hairpin he sure is precious. First, he needs to see is he truly a God or not.

This God know about Lu Yan curiosity. He seems even know each question he wants to ask, but he just wait not giving the answer before questioned. Lu Yan about to open his first question, but suddenly interrupted

"Your questions can wait, you are hungry right? How about we eat first." This one question doesn't need to be ask. It has been so many days Lu Yan hasn't eat yet, he just not remembers about it.

However, when this matter brought up all his hunger resurface and he suddenly felt so weak from hunger. "What kind of food you have here?" in the end that was the first question asked by Lu Yan.

"What do you want to eat? Can you cook?" That God asking back to Lu Yan.

"Sure, I can cook, not very good maybe. I don't see anything I can cook here though. What do you have here a rabbit perhaps or a deer?" In this dark place Lu Yan can't spot any food material he can cook.

"I have everything you want here. Hmm, deer eh. How about this demonic deer, what do you people called this anyway?" He produces a black light out of his palm. Yes, a black light, don't ask how a light can be black. The light dimmed in and out before it sparks out and a deer shot out from it. This deer is unlike any other deer. Its skin glow and the horn are bigger than the body itself, making Lu Yan startled

"Oh, you never seen this one before? I just pulled this from a valley in your sect. This deer is more delicious than the usual one and healthier to. For you at least. I am going to sleep for a while, make sure to make something good" He already move away when he see Lu Yan confused eyes.

He has captured a deer before and cook it, but this is the first time he sees this creature. Even it is unconscious, it is still alive and emanating powerful aura. "Oh, sorry I forgot you are so weak." The God wave his hand and suddenly the deer stop breathing.

"While we are at it, this deer skin is inedible and so thick. Its horn though you can stew it for a few days and drink its essence. This is quite good for your health. Let me help a little, it will take too long otherwise." He waves his hand a few times and separated the deer's meat, bones, horns and other organs.

"Ah you will also need other ingredients and tools." Again a few hand waves and various things shot out of nowhere. Kettle, pots, dry woods with a pile of multiple kind of herbs and spices are now sitting there in front of Lu Yan. All this happen in just a few seconds leaving him stunned.

The question to confirm this guy status as a God is already answered. It is not look like a great achievement, however it is an impossible task for any human. To produce all those things out of nowhere, without even breaking a sweat. Not even the patriarchs can do remotely close to that feat.

It needs few days to travel back into the Divine Wing Sect but it is still the closest place this kind of creature might exist around here. Yet here it is summoned in a second and turn into a meat in the next.

Lu Yan is not a very good cook, but the deer meat surely is a great quality. Once the soup he brews start to boil, delightful aroma spread all over the cave. It is an aroma good enough to wake up a God, he come to Lu Yan and start to eat together.

As they eat Lu Yan can see this God actually enjoy his food, curious he starts to ask questions "Is it good? You can't cook?" Not a smart question to ask but anyway it out already.

"Of course, I can cook and much better than this. It will take less than 5 seconds and the taste will be perfect. With my level of skill, it is impossible for me to make any mistake. Everything will be exactly what I wanted to be whether it is the taste or the texture. Now tell me, how boring it is going to be? Your cook is not bad but flawed. There is part here that overcooked, yet some other part still a little bit too raw. The taste is not spread out well either, every bite might taste different. Yet this is a new taste for me, I never eat this particular food before." This answer make Lu Yan wondered, is it really good to become a God?

After they eat the God flick his finger and just like that all the trash and excessive food they have gone. "Where did it go?" this question is spontaneous, Lu Yan never mean to ask that actually. There are other questions that is more important for him.

"Close" the God answer anyway even as short as it be.

"How close?" while he never meant to ask, he Lu Yan still not satisfy with the answer.

"I sent it back to the place I catch him, your mountain" The answer again is as short as it can be.

"How is that considered close? That rock over there is close. That mountain you can't even see it from here, it certainly not close from here" Lu Yan once again dissatisfied with the answer given to him.

Yet the next answer will make him stop asking such stupid question after that "It is you that can't see it, I can. If you say that rock is close, then try to get there and bring it back here." The rock is in one corner of the cave, few hundred meters from where they sit. Before Lu Yan make a move though he continues his answer "I believe I can get to your sect's mountain and bring back another deer before you are able to even touch that rock over there. So, what do say, is it close for me or not?"

Lu Yan just realize everything is matter of perspective. In the perspective of a God that can travel to heaven at will, how can travelling between mountain is considered far. He can get a deer from there in one second, can Lu Yan say the same to touch get into that rock? Not only his power is out of this world, but the way he thinks is certainly not the same with a human.

"Why you were here? Isn't a god supposed to stay in the heaven?" Lu Yan finally come out with a question.

"It's boring there." He again pauses for a second

Looking at Lu Yan confusion he laughs out loud "The truth is I'm not just a mere god. I am a God amongst the Gods. Other Gods got jealous at me, so they join forces to kill me. Alas I was forced to hide here then." Nothing in his word make sense

"Kill you, but then they failed right? So, you go hide here on earth to run from them." Lu Yan try to make sense out of his words.

"Unfortunately, they are succeeding though, I have been killed. Though my will remain and stay here on earth, looking for someone to avenge me one day." Now it is time for Lu Yan to paused, he has to process all the information's he just got.

"Wait talking about someone, I think it is fate that we meet today. Right I have decided, from now on you will be my apprentice. You can kowtow to me now and we will make this official." This just come out of nowhere.

Lu Yan can't get his mind right, is he supposed to excited? Become an apprentice of a God, even the great patriarchs of the sect can only be considered as Demi God. How great this is, Yan Rui won't be able to scare him again now. Can he get his peaceful life after though? Repaying his parents and become a respectful figure in his hometown has been his life goal all this time.

However, shouldn't everything will be easier after he become his apprentice though. Even Liu Fang and Guo Feng has to respect him at that time. Though he might have to migrate to heaven after. Can he still be able to see his family after? To introduce his wife to his parents and let them play with his kids.

Wait but he can certainly look for a wife in the heaven then get back here to earth with a Goddess. Or another human that become a demi god. Feng Yanlei, yes, she certainly the first face showed in his mind when he thinks about wife. Will one day come the times that he able to stand in front of her as equal. Yan Rui, Guo Feng, Liu Fang and others faces he thinks about flashes in his head. Yet when its times for Feng Yanlei the scene froze for some time.

Lu Yan immediately kowtow to the that God. "It surely is an honor to be able to become your apprentice. I Lu Yan might not be the most talented apprentice you have, but I promise that I will try the best. Even if master will only impart your little knowledge I will be treasure it with my life. Even if I have nothing worth to pay you back, I will at least not be going to tarnish your name. At least everyone in the Divine Wing Sect will know your greatness."

Lu Yan not trying to brag or give false promise. He had saw what this God can do, even great impossible things are considered small feat to him. Even if he can learn small part of those, he will probably stand toe to toe with the best students of the sect. At least the potency of being so, Qi Absorption Technique certainly not a dream anymore.

The God seems please to this and smile "Don't worry about my name. In fact, no one should know that you are my apprentice or you will get into trouble. All right with this kowtow this is official, we are now tied by a bond as strong as those by blood." Lu Yan bow deeply; this God won't break his word. So, it is clear his future will be bright. Keeping a secret is not a problem for him, especially when it is related to his safety

"You don't need to worry about talent as well. I know your talent well enough and all I can say is you are the most talented apprentice I ever have." This shocked Lu Yan even more. How can is he that talented, this is a God that was talking. Isn't his competitor being other Gods. How can he be more talented than a God?

"I never have any apprentice before, you are my first and my last. Thus, my heir. There will not be little knowledge that I am going to impart to you, it is everything I know and everything I have. I will make you a God, a God amongst Gods. Humans and Gods alike will fall on their knees in front of you."

Lu Yan has stopped thinking for a while and can only gasped at those words, but other words waiting to hit him stronger "Repay me you don't need to do it, but you will. When you master my arts, other Gods will sense it. They were my enemies and will try to kill you to stop my legacy complete. To annihilate those Gods first and conquer the Heaven is your fate, which is sealed with that kowtow before."
