4 First Day as A Cultivator
Inside the cottage Lu Yan found a Daoist robe at his bed, which he supposed to wear at tomorrow morning initiation. There are also a few books at the desk, the thickest one called Divine Wing Breathing Technique. Breathing technique is the core for cultivation, he learns some breathing technique to reach the Body Refining too. Of course, some technique from stray cultivators can't be compared this technique that come from a big sect. This technique surely approved by the heaven as well, or maybe actually come from them. He flips some pages to see what inside, but know immediately there is limit to what he can understand out of it. He may be able to understand more of he continues pondering it, but Lu Yan choose to give up anyway. He has to wake early tomorrow again, he may have get used to it by now that he has to wake early every day for a week. However, he decides to hit the bed early just to be safe.
Of course, Lu Yan can't sleep easily because he is too excited and wake up late again in the morning. Luckily there is someone wake him up this morning. She is the girl that come with him earlier, the one that look like a boy. Her name is Xiu Ling, she is around 16-year-old which is the same age with Lu Yan and actually quite nice. While not talk too much she actually cares about other candidates that come with her, including Lu Yan.
They walk quite some distance before arrive at the teaching halls and soon enter with the biggest one there. The ten of them that come earlier are not the only candidates here, there is others that come from different locations as well. The hall is spacious however so there is no worry about space here.
When everyone prepared an old man come to the hall. Once he gets inside everyone can feel some dignified aura inside the room. This old man is none other than one of the Wing Sect patriarchs which already reach the Soul Core Realm. No wonder his aura is so powerful that everyone inside get enchanted by him. Accompanying him is a middle age man and an extremely beautiful young woman. However, both of them also emanate powerful aura that only lose by a margin from that old man. It is scary to think that such a young disciple can produce such devastating aura.
The old man gives short greeting, before taken over by the middle age man that give them a briefing about their lives here at the sect. One of the books in their cottage is actually a book that explain about sect rules, which of course Lu Yan oblivious at. He is not even remembered to ever read the title, though he skimmed all the books there yesterday night. Their class schedule is given to them as these lectures some are mandatory and some are not. Most of them are scheduled at noon in between their chores and can be seen here at the main lecture hall.
The other books there is Short History of Divine Wing Sect, breathing technique, basic fighting technique and lightweight body technique which is the specialty of Wing Sect. The further explanation of these techniques can be learning at lectures, which is mandatory. Of course, there are other techniques that they can learn from the library, battle techniques or not. There will be lectures about it to. As a cultivator, fighting is not the only thing they can learn, their cultivation can also use for other things. Such as alchemy, smiting and other various techniques out there. Which the sect offers to help willingly.
After the short briefing the girl gave out a small bag, consisting of potions and elixirs. As being told before this package will be distributed once a month. If they want more of this they can buy them at their alchemic shop. To buy them you can use common coins or contribution points, which can be earned by finishing some errands for the sect. While it is possible to receive contribution points towards daily chores, it needs to be accumulated for years to make it even worth it. Other tasks like picking the newly candidates like them are also giving them points.
The medicinal package given by every month should be enough to boost them into 5th level of Body Refining Technique without much problem. To progress further however this medicinal elixir are usually no longer useful. Most people safe this and other potions to be sold later. The money will be used to buy a more potent elixirs or pills that can benefited them at that level. It takes time and patience to do that, that is why for most outer sect disciples 5th Body Refining Technique is usually the barrier that they can achieve. Later when they have some money some of them get back to the sect and boost one or two more level. For Lu Yan if he unable to get some fortune, this should be the accomplishment he hopes to achieve as well.
The moment Lu Yan receive the package his heart thumping and his body burning hot. It is not because of the medicinal pills inside, but because of the gentle smile given by the girl giving him the pill. She is just as beautiful as Liu Fang, without the feisty and conceited look in her face. Instead gentle and kind expression shone bright with her. Everything about her just so perfect. Lu Yan stood for a while looking at her, before the middle age man order him to move. Only by then he understands why it took so long for other before him just to take a small bag.
Later Lu Yan learned the girl name is Feng Yanlei and to his surprise this girl is actually one of the disciples that is supposed to break through the Soul Core Realm. The youngest ever to master the peak of Qi Absorption Technique. Just like this Lu Yan hopes vanished, they simply born in a different world. The commoner world he was born into and the blessed land where she is. This meeting simply a crack in fate that is never meant to be happen.
Other thing he learn is the old man is none other than Patriarch Blue Sky, which currently act like the sect leader in the Wing Sect. Since their true sect leader spend most of his time in the heaven. He is supposed to be so old and already leave most of the worldly matter. They say only when the sect in a great danger that he will come to protect to them. The middle age man is another disciple at the peak of Qi Absorption Technique named Han Fu, which is renowned for his mastery of alchemy.
These people are not usually giving packages every month. For the initiation a patriarch is expected to brief but the other two just happen to be there. It usually just any two senior disciples, but not particularly has to be these two renowned figures in the sect.
The three patriarchs respectfully are supposed to be at the first, second and third level of Soul Core Stage. Patriarch Blue is right at the middle of them. Those patriarchs are never seen again after by Lu Yan. Training in the sect are usually are handled by other masters at the Qi Absorption Stage.
These masters are often hard to differentiate than other seniors, since seniors in the Qi Absorption level also qualify to give lectures. Only thing to differentiate them is the masters usually older. They are more likely are giving up to progress their cultivation further. So, they now dedicate themselves to help others.
That night Lu Yan can't sleep at all, he flips the books he had back and forth. Using hard work to turn the fate itself upside down. To reach the pinnacle of cultivation with determination and hard work. Can he ever achieve that? Liu Fang and Guo Feng, they already reach the 3rd level while both are respectively at the same age at him. This blessed people not only talented but most likely have resources of elixirs since they were a baby. The blood running in their veins are already enhanced, their techniques are profound with the help of teachers from around the world.
Lu Yan can't even grasp the books in front of him, those with basics on their title. He never met a good teacher anyway to explain him that basic techniques. Even if he tries hard by now, how can he prove it to people around him. To make himself noticeable that some teacher wants to impart their very secret technique to him. To bet on him and invest unlimited resources to make him progress in the cultivation world.
All of that is such an impossible thought. If only heaven will provide him with such a teacher, just one person to believe in him. Lu Yan has promised he will thread the path to cultivation seriously. That he will try his best to break the fate made in heaven, so he can rewrite his own. Just give him that one random person. This of course is just a promise he made while he is extremely drowsy and will be forgotten in the next morning.
