Chapter 171: Tsunade's Progress (Short)
After that revelation of hers, Tsunade cloistered herself off in her room, only coming out to eat dinner before returning to her room, constantly muttering to herself as she went over various different jutsus and theories that might give her what she needed to go down this path.
While she did that, the summer just continued on for the rest of us, though it was certainly a bit more energetic then before as Karin woke up before dawn and insisted on someone being awake to train with her, pleading hard with us all to guide her through everything so that she could get stronger and in shape for the Academic Year.
The seal that Naruto had placed on her was a rather complex one, and it was incredible how it was able to be activated and deactivated so smoothly, giving Karin a really good Henge whenever she wanted one.
She just needed to think about shifting and boom, she'd go from a rather cute, yet average looking girl to someone with more eye catching colors and features; when those facial changes were applied, they were only benefited by the fact that the girl seemed to enjoy donning a new personality with each, making them more like characters than just a temporary shift.
Karin was showing a large talent in being able to infiltrate places with this tag and with her natural skills, which would only get even more frightening as she was polished inside the Academy to become a deadly spy.
With us slowly honing her physical strength to be on par with her future class, we might have yet another little monster on our hands, adding herself to the ranks of Ami, Lee, Shikamaru, Hinata and a few others; not on Naruto's level or Sasuke's, but certainly a little monster that, if nurtured properly, would grow into an extremely deadly Jonin.
So that was how we were forced to rotate our mornings to nurture that little monster, but besides the slight annoyance of needing to leave the warmth of the bed and of one another earlier than normal, it wasn't so bad as the Uzumaki girl absorbed everything we taught her like a sponge.
On top of training her, we also had some days spent training Naruto and some of the other children when they visited, word spreading around the class that our doors were always open during reasonable hours for them to come ask questions and get an extra lesson, which many of my students took advantage of.
They all also made sure to spend some time with Akari, Riku and Tomoe, staring at the babies with awe as they played with them or talked, enjoying the pure wholesomeness that came from those interactions.
Eventually, on one of the days that I managed to catch Tsunade before she returned to her room, I asked her about what she had managed to get down so far and if she was making any true progress, sparking an entire conversation about how she was so close yet so far from making it work.
Apparently, the theory was already there, it just needed to be pieced together; growing limbs wasn't unheard of, whilst altering the body's cells was also something that was possible, but combining the two was proving to be rather difficult.
She had managed to create a variation of the Henge that could 'add' the penis to her body, but it wasn't truly able to be added on, nor could she add the testicles just yet.
Additionally, she needed to find a way to create the different cells that were found in futanari compared to women, create the semen and make it fertile, all whilst making it carry her genes and not be a 'blank slate' of cells and genetic material.
It all sounded rather complex, and she just smiled wryly at me before returning to her room, having left me behind after she got into the specifics of the things she was trying currently, my medical knowledge being muscle deep at best.
I could heal wounds and stymie internal wounds, but past that I was just a combat medic; I bandaged the severe wounds and made it possible to transport them to the backlines, where a more experienced doctor could take a look at them.
I did what I could and I wasn't ashamed of that; I was proud of what I could do, but still...
Seeing what Tsunade was capable of in just a few days was incredible, and I was praying that the woman would succeed, so that she could fulfill her dream of having a child.
