Unlocking my Aura

As the years fly by many changes have been happening in the town that we lived in, many Faunus have been migrating to the town that we lived in by boat and started to build homes.

I realized that we lived on an Island away from the mainland and discovered that the place we lived in was called Menagerie.

The name of the town was called Kuo Kuana and my father was the chief of the town, many Faunus have come here for various reasons.

Some have run away from the mainland because of human discrimination, orphans who lost their families, or because people want to live here.

No matter the reason our family and the townspeople go down to the docks to welcome the Faunus to their new home.

Many of the Faunus cry tears of joy, finally finding a place away from the hatred of the humans, the orphans are then placed in families that are unable to have a child, while the rest of the families take a child home.

Besides the number of immigrants coming to this island, I was also able to discover why many men and women stared at me.

I found out that I was a Kitsune, the only one that is because no matter how much I searched I never found another Kitsune.

As I walked around the town, many of the people in the city stopped what they were doing when they saw me.

Some of the people dropped their food baskets, and clothes, and one of the Faunus dropped a box on his friends too.

After a few times of me and Blake walking around the village, they've all gotten used to how I looked.

However, what made me confused was when I talked to other boys my age, they would blush and give me gifts

I soon understood why they would do that, my mom explained to me that I looked feminine.

I was honestly shocked at why, but soon shivered in fear. Now, I know it may sound bad, but I'm attracted to women, I don't have anything against a boy, or a man, looking feminine.

But I knew that if I didn't say anything about this, many people, especially the men, would keep confessing to me.

So, I announced to all the people that I wanted to apologize to anyone who wanted to confess their feelings to me.

They were confused about why I said that at first, I then told them that I am a boy, and I am attracted to women.

The whole island went into a huge uproar and most of the boys started to cry in despair because they fell in love with a man, while the girls screamed in joy because they thought they had a chance to be with me.

What also caused them to see me as a girl, was how I sounded, also when me and Blake walked around the village.

They called me the social sun because I would greet anyone who greeted me and when I smiled it was like a shining sun, I would also have some conversation with some shop owners, the refuge Faunus, the children, and the elderly.

For Blake, they called her the anxious night, the only reason why she got that, was because whenever we met anyone, she would always hide behind me and say a few words before she kept silent throughout the conversation.

I had teased Blake about it so many times that she started to cry about it. I felt guilty when she cried, so to make it up to her I let her brush all nine of my tails, she instantly changed her mood and ran to her room to get her brush.

But something happened when me and my sister were outside, chatting with the villagers. We were both five years old at the time.

The two of us were heading home when we heard a commotion happening at one of the stalls.

Being curious and wondering what was going on, the two of us went towards the noise. The closer we got; the more Faunus were blocking the way.

As soon as we made it past the crowd, we saw a human thrashing about and ruining our favorite fish shop.

The human then saw me and dashed towards me, grabbing me and holding a gun at my head. Most of the villagers screamed in panic when they saw me.

While others held Blake back so she wouldn't get hurt.

"Stay the fuck back, or this kid's head is gonna pop like a balloon!!" The entire group slowly walked backward, and the man began to drag me with him.

But the crowd followed him just in case he lowered his guard, after passing many stalls and houses we were about to reach the docks.

I then felt the arm of the man loosen, so I took the opportunity to bite his arm. The man screamed in pain and let me go.

As he screamed in pain, I ran to the villagers and hugged Blake who was crying. The man was about to run towards the docks, but he was tackled by the guards.

After the man was taken away, I asked my dad to train me in combat, he instantly agreed after he heard what happened down in the city.

The first few days of combat were difficult, I was too thin and weak since I didn't have any muscle on me.

So my dad decided to have me increase my strength and stamina to last longer in a spar.

I ended up with many bruises on my body, each time I was knocked down, my dad would ask me if we should stop.

But I would always get back up with determination in my eyes. Dad smiled at what he saw, making the two of us train longer.

I was scolded by my mom because she was worried that I would end up getting hurt. I was able to calm her down and told her if I didn't train Blake could get hurt.

After reassuring her that I was doing this to protect me and Blake, she reluctantly agreed. As long as she saw me and dad train, which the two of us agreed.

During my time training, I was able to grow in height reaching five feet and five inches, I was only ten when I checked, and I was surprised.

Many of the kids at the same age as me would be at five feet or five feet and 3 inches. I also gained some muscle, so whenever me and Blake go out, it was the girls who would see me as a target for them.

But I wasn't the only one who trained, Blake was training with me. How this happened, was when I was nine years old.

Blake would often spy on me when I was training by myself or with dad, she saw my determination to get stronger so that I could protect those I love.

The determination that I displayed when training caused Blake to train with me. I was curious to see her training, so I asked her why she wanted to train with me.

"Because big brother, I want to protect you and not let you get in trouble again." When she said the last part, she had her ears and head down, and her face had a tint of red.

I was touched when she said that and made me happy that she wanted to protect me too. I ended up training as twice as hard and something amazing happened today.

I was ten years old and both me and Blake were in the courtyard.

As usual, Blake and I were training with our father in the courtyard, mom was on the side sipping some tea while she saw us suffer from the attacks we got from dad.

I was able to deflect some of the attacks that he did, but some of them managed to connect to my body, Blake on the other hand looked worse than me, she would get hit three times as me and looked like she would faint at any time.

Dad was about to deal the finishing blow to Blake, and he didn't hold back, mom eyes widen and ran to protect Blake screaming at dad to stop.

But she was too far to stop him, I on the other hand ran in front of Blake and crossed my arms to stop the blow, I guessed that I would have my arms sprained and would need to rest for a few days for them to heal.

"Oh...my...Oum." I felt the impact of the blow and felt pain in my arms, yet my arms felt the same. I opened my eyes and saw a light blue barrier surrounding my body, the staff in my father's hands was a few inches away from my arms but they never touched.

The pain from all the blows disappeared at the same time when I felt the blow on my arms and saw the bruises disappearing at a rapid pace.

"Aiko, do you know what you just unlocked?" Asked my father I was confused about why he asked that question.

"No, I don't know what I unlocked. Do you know what I unlocked dad?" He then started to smile and lifted me in his arms laughing, while my mother was with Blake smiling like she won the lottery. Blake on the other hand looked sad and felt that she was falling behind again.

'How do you keep moving forward brother? I want to stand next to you but you move farther and farther away.' If I heard her thoughts, I would have stopped my training and would have waited for her to catch up.

But she kept silent and shook her head to get rid of the negative thoughts. She was then determined to catch up to me no matter what and would stand by my side.
