10 Chapter 9

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T FIND HER," Damian shouts.

"We have searched everywhere, including no man's land and not a trace," the warrior replies.

Damian growls," Dismissed."

The warrior lowered his head in shame and exited the king's office. He stands from his desk and stares out his window.

"She shifts and runs from me, she should be punished," he says aloud.

His wolf grunts in agreement.

" So, what is this agreement," Lucia asks.

The rogue smirks," You are the king's mate, yet you're a hunter. And a turned one at that so my guess is that you want to get rid of him."

Lucia narrows her eyes," What does this have to do with this offer you have for me?"

He chuckles," Well I have a score to settle with his father and the perfect revenge would be to kill his son Damian, your mate. And again, since you want to be rid of him-"

"---you want me to help you kill him."

Cain smiles," You catch on quick for a human. His father killed my wife and I want to settle the score. So, what do you say?"

***No Lucia. ***

*Why shouldn't I? *

***Because if Damian is killed and you have a hand in it, you'll lose your humanity forever. ***

"Oh, and by the way," Cain starts," there's a way to make sure your safety is certain. I have a friend that delves into magic and he promises that you won't lose your mind once Damian is killed."

***Please no Lucia, we need Damian. ***

*You do, I don't. *

She looks up at Cain," I'll do it."

He smiles wickedly," Excellent. Artemis, take her to the top floor and make sure her new room is to her liking."

Later that night, Lucia found that Cain, the leader of the rogues, was much more appealing than he was before. She also found that snow is silent. Nothing has been said since Lucia made her decision and, in a way, it worried her.

She sighs," Soon this will be done with and I can go home."

She rolls over and surrenders to sleep.
