5 I never learned how to fight

Cloud landed on one of the branches of the outer trees. The branch alone was so big enough for Cloud to sleep comfortably on it.

The deeper one goes into the Black tide forest the darker it got, Cloud jumped down to the floor and to a good look at the ground, growing up in a farm has made Cloud an expert in telling the weather conditions from the soil.

Cloud scooped up a hand full of the soil, the soil was warm to warm for a forest like this where the sun did not penetrate all the way to the floor, the only explanation for this is that the Black tide forest basin is a volcano. The soil is also wet meaning that it rained a lot or there's a lot of nature springs.

Cloud has always wanted to be a professional seeker and has being training for it for a long time, he once read on a book by a famous professional seeker that when you find yourself in a strange environment the first thing you need to do is find a water source and then you can think about shelter.

Cloud walked deeper into the forest, 200 meters in he saw the first sign of the dangers in the forest, Cloud stopped and look at the two corpses one was a corpse of a young man while the other was of something Cloud knew well the Shadow anaconda, from the looks of it the young man must have surprised the shadow anaconda and it attacked him in retaliation and was killed by the other participants.

Cloud left the sight of the corpses and to went deeper into the forest, Cloud walked slowly and cautiously as he made his way deeper along the way Cloud passed many corpse's of both human and magical beast alike.

After 4 hours of walking Cloud saw his first blooded body. The participant was one of the people who entered with the second group, the participants was in his early 20's tall, dark skinned and had a fit body and something about the way he look at Cloud made Cloud take a step back.

The participant laughed and introduced himself "my name is Vic the hunter and I have decided to make you my first prey".

From the way he was standing in the middle of the path Cloud could tell that Vic was waiting for him but he wasn't sure why this guy would this guy want to hunt him down.

Seeing the confused look Cloud had, Vic laughed again and said' I live for one purpose and that is to hunt, I used to hunt only magical beast but now I have developed a taste for a higher form of prey the smartest and most dangerous of all prey that the human. So I came to participant in the seekers exams because this is where the best of the best fighters are, before you showed I was disappointed by the number of prey I was going to play with and then you showed up riding on the back of a Laughing god, the moment I saw you my thirst for blood started acting up you don't know how hard it was to wait all this time to kill you hahahahha" Vic laughed so hard that his body was shaking.

Cloud stayed silent and looked at Vic than more he looked at him the more fear he felt in his heart he knew that this is going to be a fight to the death and given of bad his last fight with the shadow anaconda went he was not confident.

Cloud knows he is stronger than when he was fighting against the shadow anaconda, but he did not know just how much stronger than his was in the past and this could be a good chance to find out he thought.

Vic made his move first he pulled out a big dagger from his back and charged at Cloud, Vic vanished and appeared right in front of Cloud and attack with a stab to Cloud's heart, Cloud did not see it coming and with a thud the dagger penetrated into Cloud chest and into his heart. Cloud fall backwards to the ground with his hand over the wound in his chest.

That's when the whisper started again saying he missed this time because your heart is in the wrong side but he will figure it out and kill you again and this time he won't miss, is this how you want to die nothing more than prey of mad man.

Cloud didn't know why but every time he heard the whispers telling him to kill himself he always felt a surge of power with the lighting within him burn him.

Cloud felt the surge of power flowing into every part of with body and he slowly got up and looked at the shocked Vic with murderous intent letting the lightning flow in his Cloud throw himself at Vic and his body slammed into Vic's body with a loud bang.

Vic took ten steps back and looked Cloud with a sinister smile and he said "your heart is on the other side".

Cloud look at Vic and remembered something important that he never learned how to fight.
