2 The knight oath

I got up by the help of the knight look-alike and they escort me out of this room and we walk toward a big golden door, as I walk my thoughts start to clear out a little more, where am I? Am I dreaming? But this feeling, this smell of roses and the weight of each step am taking, it's too real.

As soon as we arrive at the golden door it opens and a huge hall gets in our site, there's a big red carpet that goes it the middle of the hall toward what looks like a throne and there's what you would call servants on both sides of the carpet, we arrive before the throne and the knight kneel down to what looks to be there king, it's a short fat guy in his twenties who wore some royal like outfit that is obviously not if his size.

Random knight: "you insolate bastard how dare you, not to kneel before our mighty king!!"

The knight screamed as he pointed at me, you think I would kneel to that? The best this guy could be in my world is a loner otaku and a good for nothing, even thought that was the life style I was heading to myself… I need to make sure not to end up like this.

The king: "Haha leave it, I don't mind it this is a great day! It's a pleasure to meet you legendary knight "

The supposedly king gets up and walks toward me. Wait legendary what? Is he talking to me? I don't think I should say anything rashly, I can feel the burning glares from the knights that are beside the king.

Hibiki: "where are we right now?"

I guess knowing the general stuff is a priority right now.

The king: "let's wait for the rest of you to come in and I will explain"

The King grins at me with a disgusting smile, this guy is up to no good but I will go the flow for now, and there's more of us? I hope I don't know any of them it would be embarrassing to be called a "legendary knight" before any normal person, who came up with the name? That person should be fired. Maybe a couple of foreigners would be great or a goddess who does nothing but complain, here I go fantasizing about my favorite novels again.

Random knight: "they are here you highness"

The king: "let them in"

As the fat king spoke the huge golden door gets opened two figures approach with some weird armor like cloths, now that you mention it I have the same on me when did I wear this? The two figures walk toward me, I hear a familiar voice and chills run down my spine.

Mitsuki: "what is this place?"

Hanabi: "I don't know but am scared!"

What are these two doing here?!

Hanabi: "Hibiki you're here too! What is this place?"

Mitsuki: "you….."

Hanabi looks really shocked, well that's the normal reaction in this kind of situation, as for Mitsuki… he looks like he saw a ghost, he has a look of confusion and embarrassment.

I didn't think I would have to meet any of these two and to make it more awkward we had to meet in a castle surrounded by knights while wearing armors, this got to be my top inspected encounter.

Hibiki: "I didn't expect to see you here"

Who would? I tried to crack a joke to loosen the weird atmosphere and that's the best I could come up with.

Hanabi: "you seem rather relaxed do you know where this is?"

I turn toward the named king and he grins at us, am going to have nightmares of this guy's smile.

The king: "let me explain that to our dear hero's, this is the kingdom of Amare one of the most prosperous lands in this world, every 100 years every country try's to summon the legendary knight to fight of the leftovers of the demons race, we luckily got to summon three of the known heroes, this is a happy day let's throw a banquet! Guards spread the news of our joy in the kingdom"

Mitsuki: "I think there must be a mistake your majesty I …we are not familiar with any sort of fighting not to mention demons…"

You got to watch it there your self-centered persona almost showed of there, and are you not embarrassed to be shouting your majesty like that?!

The king: "you got nothing to worry about dear hero, you will realize how much power you have after you smear the oath of the knights and your magical power will awaken, we will assist you with everything we have as long as you protect this country"

The king gives us a sinister look as he smiles, shills run down my spine, I have a bad feeling about this.

The king:" dear Arthur would you escort our heroes on a tour of our capital while we prepare for their oath binding?"

Arthur:" of course your highness"

We followed Arthur, he didn't wear an armor and didn't look like a servant and the guards around the castle seemed to respect him. We walk out of the castle and into the street of the city it's really beautiful it looks like a city out of a fantasy, everyone is smiling at us and bowing to us.

But for some reason I feel uncomfortable am I missing something?

I walked with Arthur while Hanabi and Mitsuki are walking behind us it seems she noticed something was wrong, I would rather not deal with that. As we walk Arthur start telling me about the history of their country, 100 years ago the king of this land made a barrier to keep the soldiers of the demon king and the monsters away from it because it has a high density of mana everyone wanted to claim it. It seems magic is a real thing here since we already passed a couple of chariots being pulled by some kind of huge lizard and a guy who performed magic for entertaining people I already believe them.

Arthur: "this is the gate of the city, you're not allowed to leave without

a direct permission from the king"

Arthur stops and glances deeply at the gate, I get a bad feeling again I have a strong intuition I rarely miss.

Hibiki: "how are things beyond the walls?"

I never thought I would say this sentence in my life, he better not tell me there are human-eating giants there.

Arthur: "ah… of course this country is thriving"

Arthur startles at my question then gives a look at the guards that have been following us from the castle, it took me a while before I noticed them, they glared at him… something is fishy here.

We then stayed away from the gates of the capital as we toured it, we visited a couple of shops then went back to the castle.

As we enter the castle we are sent to different rooms to rest before we are called, I walk toward my room then I hear my name, this is going to be annoying.

Hanabi: "stop right there! You better explain yourself"

Hibiki: "what are you talking about?"

Hanabi: "You know exactly what am talking about? What happened?"

I have to make here lose the subject or this will not end up well.

Hibiki: "I heard you and Mitsuki were going out"

Hanabi: "who told you that? Mitsuki sworn to not tell anyone!"

Hibiki: "uh… my friend saw you guys"

Hanabi: "what friend? You don't talk to anyone other than us"

Don't go declaring me a loner like that… even though you're completely right it still hurt to hear it.

Hanabi: "Did us going out not make you happy?"

She start to give me this worried look, what are you worrying about? Urh this girl…

Hibiki: "I…I just didn't want to get in your way that's all, and I didn't want to end up as the third wheel hehe"

I give her the fakest smile there is, I was never good at faking anything…she's not going to buy it.

Hanabi: "well… you don't have to worry about that we can still be friends"

She finally let it go, and walks back to her room, she's too nice for her own good.

I lay in the bad in my room it's pretty luxurious, the bad is huge and there is all kind of decoration it looks like a kings room.

Random knight: "dear hero its time"

I walk toward the door and open it.

Hibiki: "shall we"

Random knight: "uh yes sir this way please!"

I always wanted to say that, the knight looked at me confused but still followed up.

We enter a huge hall with a big magical like circle it looks different than the one we were summoned from.

The king is sitting in a sit with other elders he seems excited.

The king: "let's start!"
