4 the history of Amare

I walk back to my room with mixed emotions and lay on my bed. I don't know what to do, everything in this world seems real and fake at the same time, will I wake up from this to find it to be just a dream? Well, I will enjoy what I can of it.

I wait for the call from the guards to take me to the party of the king, am supposed to be the honored guest but am sure I will be forgotten halfway there, I don't think with the expression that that fat king had he would be celebrating me!

I hear the voice of the guard as I was half asleep, I follow him to the party. When I arrived the other two are already sitting on a huge table with the king Mitsuki seems to be getting along with the king as they laugh, seems he's good at bootlicking and Hanabi looks really uncomfortable and out of place, is that dumbass drinking?

Everyone else is dancing and singing, the air change as soon as I walk in, this reminds me of high school after the accusations the air always froze whenever I walked in.

The king: "if it isn't our dear hero come to sit with us haha!"

The king is forcing a smile as he looks at me, my seat is 3 seats away from the king's while Mitsuki's and Hanabi's is right next to the king, between us sits a couple of generals, seems the king really doesn't trust me…

The king: "drink with us hero, Mitsuki was telling me about your amazing world!"

Mitsuki: "stop it, Jules, my world seems pale compared to your kingdom hehe"

The king: "that may be true but it's still pretty interesting haha!"

Mitsuki? Jules?! They're already at first name basis? How fit in is this guy?

Hibiki: "sorry I don't drink jul- I mean your majesty I just came to honor your invite, am really tired from today so if you would excuse me!"

I tried to play it smooth like Mitsuki but I guess that's just not me, still it wasn't that bad I guess reading all those books helped but it still was kind of embarrassing.

The king: "well if you say it that way! Go rest dear hero you will have a big day tomorrow!"

Jules seems relieved… he really sucks at hiding his feelings.

I walk out of the hall and I can hear the party's life come back, I have to know this country's past.

I walk back to my room and lay in my bed when I feel the presence of the guard that followed me fade I walk back out to meet Arthur. Since the oath I've been able to feel people's presence very clearly, it doesn't seem like Mitsuki and Hanabi had the same thing so I kept it a secret.

I arrive at the place Arthur told me about I could barely feel his presence but I can't tell his location so people can hide their presence.

Hibiki: "don't worry nobody followed me, you can come out!"

I always wanted to say that. Arthur comes out from the corner with a big smile and a surprised expression.

Arthur: "my hiding spell is not the best but to be able to feel my presence without any training is… as expected from you dark knight"

Am still not comfortable being called that but am just going to ignore that.

Hibiki: "so you said you had something to tell me!"

Arthur: "yes, please come with me!"

I walk behind Arthur as he seems to be heading toward the gates of the capital, he stops when we are a bit far from the walls of the city, he takes out a scroll and put it on the ground.

Arthur: "please, hold my shoulder"

I hold his shoulder then he mumbled something I didn't understand and in a flash, we teleport to the top of the walls, was it a teleportation spell? That's really cool and convenient! I need to learn that.

I look at Arthur and with a worried expression he looked toward the other side of the walls, I turn to see what he's looking at.

Hibiki: "this… what in the world?"

Out of the walls extended what I would call a black rock desert, you couldn't really see it well in the darkness of the night but I could feel the difference in the density of the mana, compared to the capital this place is dried out of mana.

Arthur: "you probably felt dizzy after the oath, that's because you could feel the high density of mana in the capital and now you see the cause of it"

Hibiki: "what the hell is happening in this country?"

Arthur started telling me the history of this country, 100 years ago a war broke between the legendary knights and one of the commanders of the demon king, as the legendary knight where about to lose one of them decided to imprison the commander in this country till the next hero's come to finish him, the seal would dry out the surrounding grounds from its mana and concentrate it in the country to keep his country from starving, and put the commander into a slumber. But shortly after the seal started feasting on its self some people say it was the commander's doing, and it concentrates the mana from the country toward its center.

Now the capital walls are the borders of the seal and the rest of the country is starving, mana is the source of everything in this world without it life can't prosper.

Hibiki: "why didn't you break the seal already?"

Arthur: "the elders convinced my brother that the seal would reset after it hits the wall of the capital and it would go back to its first form"

Brother?! Arthur is the king's brother?

Hibiki: "that's obviously wrong right?"

Arthur: "yeah but my brother is stupid and he thinks am after the throne so he doesn't believe me, and because of him this country will starve"

Hibiki: "I see, so this country has that kind of dark past but that doesn't explain the complicated emotions of the people about me?"

Arthur: "the legendary knight that sealed the commander was the dark knight and the first king of this country"
