3 The Dark knight

After Arthur's explanation, I think I have a general idea of what we are doing. According to Arthur normally to become a knight you have to understand the qualities of a knight that are loyalty, honor, and justice. And after having these qualities burned into your soul you could do the knight oath which is an oath written on your soul that can only be done by having those qualities. As for the summoned knights, you can skip the training process as it is burned into our souls when the armor choose us.

The fact that I am excepting all this crap easily is scaring me, I don't think I have any of those qualities at all! Neither do these two people, is this going to be okay? I have a bad feeling about this.

Arthur: "you have nothing to fear it is a safe oath, actually it will unlock your armors true powers so you should be excited!"

True power? Can I go super after this? This is getting interesting!

Arthur: "who wants to go first?"

Mitsuki: "I… I will do it!"

Hanabi: "but…wait what if it's dangerous?"

Mitsuki: "that's why I should go first"

Mitsuki walks in the middle of the magic circle and touches the crystal that is sited on a wooden platform, the crystal starts shining with a white light.

The armor of Mitsuki changes form, from the plain white one it became more detailed with an engraving of a strange language on it. By the way, how can you say all of that with a straight face? Did he actually come up with that? Am not going up there to embarrass myself like that I prefer dying!

The same thing happens to Hanabi's armor it changed, now it has some kind of red line running around the edges of the armor but most of it stayed white.

Arthur: "congratulation dear hero that's the strongest oath I ever witnessed! You have a red affinity you can practice flame magic"

Hanabi seems really embarrassed, I was hoping she would do a magical girl transformation but I was disappointed. I guess it's my turn I hope I don't say something worst then these two.

I walk toward the crystal unexpectedly am really nerves, the hall is completely quiet and everyone's eyes are on me, am not used to this much pressure. I don't really care about anyone's opinion of me but I hate to be the center of attention, let's get done with this.

I put my hand on the crystal and I close my eyes, am waiting to feel the strong light but instead I feel the air getting cold, did I fail this test?

I slowly open my eyes and the crystal is pitch black and the hall has gotten darker and colder then what it was. My vision becomes dark and I hear a voice… it's not mine but I've heard it before the first time I came here in that dream.

???: "don't give in to evil accept the hatred of this world and make it your strength"

I feel a hit on my head before I finish my sentence and my vision returns, what the hell was that?

As soon as I finish the sentence the black aura that was rooming around the hall started to be absorbed by my armor as it color became darker and darker.

I feel the crystal cracking under my hand I pull my hand as fast as I could and it returns to its original color but there is a visible crack on it, I hope I don't have to pay for that.

I look around and everyone has a complex expression, I look toward the kind and he looks like he saw a ghost, with a pall face he fakes a smile toward me. Is the crystal that expensive? Now I've done it with my bad luck.

The king: "to think our kingdom would be blessed to have the dark knight what a blessing, we will have a party tonight!"

I look at my armor it's completely black and looks different than the other two's, even my oath was totally different. Arthur walks up to me with a smile, he looks genuinely happy.

Hanabi: "wow that's amazing congratulation!"

Hanabi walks to me with sparkling eyes, I can feel Mitsuki glaring at me with envious eyes, it's fun to tease him sometimes.

Everyone start leaving after the king leaves and small chat start to break out, you could tell it was the topic of most of it by the eyes looking at me. Hanabi leaves with Mitsuki and I walk back to my room as well I feel a hand fall on my shoulder I turn to find it Arthur's.

Hibiki: "what is it?"

I could tell he's about to talk about something serious from his expression, about what everyone is chatting about.

Arthur: "meet me in the back alley after midnight I have something to tell you"

Midnight? That doesn't seem fishy at all!

Arthur: "you have to know the truth behind this country!"
