2 Second Miss Opportunity

Vincent then recalled the things that he could have accomplished but didn't because of some circumstances. Those memories were engraved clearly on his mind.

'What if he had another chance?' Those thoughts swirled on his head relentlessly.

He always longed for another chance at life, being Jobless, he had tough time adjusting and fighting back to this kind life.

From what he could still remember, there were three opportunities that could change his harsh life in this City, Genesis.

Thanks to the failure and mistakes his past life did, he could now figure out his goals, the goals he had to accomplish.

First opportunities will be a crucial thing for him. And that is acquiring a 'Martial Physique'.

Martial Physique was simply a condition of the body which had a high aptitude towards learning and practicing Martial Arts.

In Vincent past life, he practiced Martial Arts and acquire some Martial Skills. Due to this experience, he believed it would be in his best interest to learn it again. Like walking to a complete path you used to walk too, smooth and steady.

Jobless Otherworlder can learn anything, they had the ability to learn Martial Arts easily.

If Vincent can successfully acquire the Martial Physique, his previous speed in learning Martial Arts would be doubled if not tripled. This would help him gain an upper hand against his opponent in upcoming competition. Which would help him from getting the third opportunity that he remember.

There are two 'simple' requirements from acquiring the Martial Physique successfully. It is this two simple requirements that ruthlessly kill his chance from getting it.

The first requirement is you don't had to have a skill, learned or acquired.

Most people would assume that skills are difficult to obtain. Yes! It was difficult, difficult if you aim high. But It was an easy feat acquiring simple skill.

Example, if Vincent killed 2 more people, his kill count would be total of 3, and he would get the 'Killer' skill, which is pretty useless skill.

Currently, Vincent status is devoid of any skills, which is perfect. He didn't possess any skills, meaning that he passed the First Requirement from having the Martial Physique.

Vincent thought about this as he walked down the road, his head swinging left and right, searching for something.

'Found it'

Vincent looked up at the door where an old sign was hung down.

15 years ago, Vincent came here as fast as he can as he heard about the Martial Physique and its uses.

He gave all of he had, just to undergo the surgery, but only to be rejected due to him being not meeting the requirements.

The frustration he felt back then was immense, the regret of not knowing it, at the first time he goes summoned on the City.

There was no one in the old hospital. He remembered that it was a classy and simple hospital and not the dilapidated he saw right now.

This place was discovered after a lucky Jobless person successfully underwent the surgery, because of the successful operation and the benefits it had, people began to flood and visit the hospital. The hospital become well known, making him knowing it.

But the hospital lasted for only a year and close shortly after. A person who couldn't undergo the surgery, because of him didn't pass the requirements was angry and killed the surgeon on the spot.

"Anyone here!?" Vincent looks around the old hospital and shouted loudly. "I came for a body surgery"

Then a wooded door open and an old man walk out. "A body surgery?"

The Old Man couldn't help but ask as he looked at Vincent in surprise. His shock was not unexplained for, as the person in front of him was literally a small kid, a kid who wanted a surgery, and a body surgery at that. Who is in their right mind wanting to have a body surgery when they were a kid. Furthermore, his body surgery is not even known, adding this to his surprise.

"Yes"

"Are you sure about your decision? And in the first place Where did you learn about it?"

The Old man was confused as where did the kid knows his body surgery.

In Vincent past life, the first person to undergo and complete the surgery got it on a complete stroke of luck. The person originally wanted to fix his back pain. The doctor which is the Old man in front of him asked the guy if he wanted to undergo a surgery for free. The Old man at that time needed a practice partner which is a real person and the person in front of him is a perfect Guinea pig.

In the end the surgery succeeded, making his hospital well known, getting loads of money which he used in rejuvenating his hospital and his lifestyle.

"I'm sure of my decision and You?, you can do it, right?"

Vincent looked at the Old man's eyes while saying this. The old man was still in surprised on what's happening, but he still nodded at the end.

"Hahaha! I didn't even know this would happen, but the pay is... hmmm. Never mind It's the first time I'm doing this to a person and a kid at that. So it's free but, if there's side effects…" the Old man laugh and said to Vincent, his last sentence ending with grave tone on his voice, dragging his last word.

"I don't care" Answered Vincent decisively while completing the sentence on his head 'There's no side effects of it anyway'

The Old man slowly nodded his head at Vincent decisive answer and said.

"Kid, it's not easy to undergo the surgery for the body. You need to fulfill 2 requirements" the Old Man said to Vincent looking at him up and down. "First you have to be Jobless person which is..."

"I am"

"And the second requirement is not having any skills"

"I don't have any skills"

The requirement of not having learned skills confuse Vincent to no end and ask the surgeon which is the Old Man, why there was a need for this requirement 15 years ago.

Then he heard him answered, skills changed the state of one's body, small or big. Thus, this small changes of the body would not be able to accept the surgery.

However, that restriction that tied him down 15 years ago could not stop him now, as he had no skills learned yet.

The Old man walk towards a door and said "follow me"

"Come here"

The old man locked up the door of the room and urged him inside.

"Take off your clothes"

Like the Old had said, Vincent took off all his clothes on. Fully naked, Vincent looked down on his skinny body, understanding how weak his current body are. There was no muscle, only skin and bones. It felt new to him, as he didn't have the scars that he got from his previous life.

"Laid down"

Took a deep breath, encouraging himself that it's the start of his new life, and getting the Martial Physique is the only start.

"It's going to hurt a lot"

The Old man held a needle on his palm.

Pain was easy to handle, and Vincent endured many pains from his previous life, so this amount of pain didn't matter to him.

Vincent close his eyes, waiting for the surgery to finish.

The surgery had to hurt, if not then it's fake. A surgery that completely changed the body and Skeleton to another state.

The transformation of his old bones to new Skeletal structure really hurt, as it changed the core of his entire body.

However, Vincent didn't scream or groan, enduring the pain he felt. He didn't ignore the pain, instead he welcomed it. The pain he's going through, mark that he's living a different and completely new life. Even with all of this, he was still far behind the others who possessed Magic and Martial Arts.

A ding sound was heard as Vincent successfully obtained the Martial Physique.

Vincent was static as he obtained the Martial Physique. He thought of 'Status' on his head, and he read the information pertaining the Martial Physique.

Inferior Martial Physique

— An Inferior Quality of a Martial Physique. A body made for practicing Martial Arts. This body is the lowest class of it, but it's better than normal body of a Jobless human.

"Done" The Old Man said to the laying Vincent.

Vincent stood up as he sighed to himself. Like the system had said, Inferior Quality is wasn't the best, it was the worst, but it was good for the likes of him. Jobless.

Martial Physique was hard to acquired in the first place. It's slightly hard for someone who grew up in the martial environment to obtained it, and without hard work and perseverance it was impossible. Well there's an alternative way of obtaining it, elixir and treasures.

Vincent thought about the bonus of being Jobless, plus the benefits the Martial Physique provided, being fast on learning Martial Arts. Thinking about this, Vincent thought that Inferior Martial Physique is not that bad.

"It actually works. HAHAHA! My body surgery actually work on a living person. Hahaha!"

The Old Man laugh in joy as he saw that Vincent is perfectly fine and dandy. He looked at Vincent and couldn't help but added "Kid! Now that the body surgery was completed, spread the world of my greatness"

He said that to Vincent knowing that it would be a moneymaking business.

Vincent's look at the surgeon, who was saying he's demised, he knew about the event from the future that the surgeon will be killed a year later, and this time it will be slightly faster.

But, Vincent wouldn't say that to the surgeon, who would listen to a kid, when you're drowned on your future success. He could see that on the Old Man's eyes, money, raining of money.

What if he killed the surgeon right now? He would be the only one possessing the Martial Skeletal.

Vincent stop thinking and shook his bad thoughts away. Vincent smiled bitterly, he wasn't that terrible to a person who didn't do any harm to him.

However, he didn't tell the Old Man about his approaching death. Even if he didn't spread the word, there will be someone who will undergo about it in the near future.

He said "Thank You" to the old man and went out of the Old Hospital even though his body hurt, he felt that every step he took, his body is getting lighter and lighter, and become more comfortable.

He looked at the sky, he felt like for the first time, this is a good day. Martial Physique, he now had the first opportunity. Now, it's time for the second one.

He had prepared his body for this, the Martial Physique. Now, he needed to enhance himself.

'I have to go to a Bookstore'. Vincent thought while continued walking.

He remembered the second-class skills that he had for about 15 years. And just by remembering and memorizing the text, he would gain that power.

He remembered the [Qi Circulation] Cultivation Method, it was the Technique he learned before, and it always the skill that held him back.

The way to get it was easy. However, if he wanted to learn it again, it will restrict him. Of course not all the skills had restriction, but this one had.
